Early Music School Performances 2010 – Photos

We had officially stopped high school in 2010 but we were still attending our final year of music classes.

Guitar lessons, drum/percussion ensembles and even about a dozen vocal lessons. We’ve always loved playing music with other people, even in a school setting and it made for a good transition to having our own band and performing by ourselves in the years to come.

By no means was the music we produced back then outstanding, but we were gaining experience, having fun, making friends and learning valuable things that would absolutely come in handy down the line. 🙂 We are immensely grateful to have had these amazing opportunities to learn and gradually develop.

We once shared one of those drumming performances as an MLT Club Exclusive with you (watch it back here). A bunch of teenagers trying to wrestle with their instruments to produce something worth listening to.

Here you can see us do just that 😉

Stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

  1. Just for fun, look at the first picture of the kids marching down the aisle between the parents. Is the guy on the right, behind the baby, staring at you? If you think he is looking at you, don’t look across the aisle at the gentleman in the yellow shirt.

  2. I started playing drums in 1969. I was in a marching unit with baton girls and flag girls. I was taught by a military guy by the name of Gary Inks. And this reminds me of my early days of marching at parades and getting judged for our performance. I started playing the tenor drum then moved to first snare drum and then the tim toms ( 3 drums ) marching back wards and having the snare drum perform a solo. So this is so cool to see, thank you for sharing and bringing back good memories for me. I started playing the drum set but my parents could not afford lessons so I got a 3 piece set from a catalog and sat down and put records on and played along with the records. And I feel God gave me the talent to play the drums and still do today.

  3. These are really wonderful pictures. It just goes to show that some things never change. Proud parents, kids doing their best and learning how to work together. Watching what you’ve been able to achieve over the years with such hard work Is a testimony to your passion for music. We are all so fortunate to be able to share the fruits of your work. I cannot imagine at this point not having the privilege to share in your journey and all that is yet to come. Love to all the Wagners.

  4. Nice pictures. I love that you had such a great opportunity and experience. And, especially that you have gone on to create great entertainment for millions of people. We are blessed that those early lessons in music lead us to the music we enjoy so much today. ?❤

  5. Love the hair style In the beanie Lisa.
Thanks for some rare photos of you behind the scenes honing your talent. Its so nice to see these amazing photos. I know that Michaela and Papa Rudi were so proud of you then and even more so now.
    Thanks for sharing Ladies. ?❤?

  6. It’s so nice seeing how the two of you started down this road. I guess it’s called “paying your dues” and it has certainly paid off big time. Thanks as always for sharing.

  7. Thank you so much for the photographic participation in your career. Is it true that you were good to very good students? Some years even with excellent success?
And at what age was it absolutely certain that you would become a musician?

    1. Hi Meloman!
Surprisingly, we were pretty good students, yes. 🙂 So the decision to stop highschool at such an early age had more to do with our career choice rather than a lack of interest in further academic education.
I would say the decision to pursue music full-time happened about a year before we quit and of course happened with the full support of our parents at the time. School was just not efficient enough for the huge amount of time we spent there and the things we wanted to achieve ♥

  8. This looks like The School of Rock-MLT Style 🙂

I like these flashbacks. Your school looks nice. My high school in 1980 did not know about strings. The kool kids took lessons outside of school.
Or is this just a music school? That would be pretty kool.

The audience shots show how some things will never change. The parents’ faces are priceless. They have looked like that forever.

JP I bet some of those kids brag about going to school with you?
The twins? Knew ‘em? I went to school with them

    1. None of these were taken at our highschool, we were done with that in June 2009, a year prior 🙂
At that point all that was left was “Music school” so we only took lessons for our instruments and some fun ensemble classes there and it was outside of normal school times. Definitely more up our street! 😉

  9. Thanks for sharing these memorable moments. It looked like lots of fun times, you both looked so cute in those. Always look forward to these Tuesday photos.

  10. How awesome was that …Quite, Glad you were able to experience and learn and indeed, it did come in handy for later on down the music road?
You’ve also brought back school music class memories for me.. in Kindergarten , my teacher had an autoharp, that she would play and sing songs to which we all would sing aling, thst autoharp was fas inating to me as a 5 year old and I took to loving it right off, she let me touch it as I was curious, I was careful, …then throughout the other grades in elementary school years up to Grade 6 our music classes cons7sted primarliy singing out of songbooks for that particular grade we were in, it was a songbook series for each grade… “Songtime ” was name of I bel7eve if memory serves, we might of pkayed some instruments too but mostly singing, I enjoyed the singing, and did sing in school choirs in different grades… However, my middle school years, Grades 7/8 for music classes, not fun or memorable, the teacher was awful and embarassed /humilated you publicy, if you didn’t know your stuff …I had to drop out of his class ascwas the best thing and have a spare class in its place… I did not like him, as he did not me , thought me as stupid and incompetent according to him and felt gest to be removedfrom his class as he was going to fail me, I was updet but agreed with him , I don’t do well with a teacher I didn’t like, I also had a few learning issues too which did not help… in high school, because of that awful experience from middle school years, I declined taking music but did enjoy listening, seeing our highschool perform and going to high dchool dances…. now I sing in open mic jams, karaoke, that is, pre -Covid…would love to resume at some point… Thankyou for sharing these high school music class memories…Tunefully Fab??

  11. How adorable were you girls? Love seeing pictures of you having fun with music – seeing you now as masters of your craft shows how much hard work and practice you gave your talent to become the awesome performers you are now…thanks for sharing!
