BBC Radio Devon – Our first time on the BBC w/ John Govier! – Radio Interview
Our first time live on British airwaves – BBC Radio Devon!
It was 2013 when we visited the UK for the first time – and gave our first ever interview and live performances for a BBC station:

During a 5 week stay in London we decided to contact some British radio stations and tell them we’re here. We didn’t expect much since we didn’t have any “connections”, nor experience in the UK music scene and no substantial following is the country yet. At that time we were still living in our house in Austria and it would be nearly a year before we moved to Liverpool.
Without any particular expectations we sent off a bunch of emails and went to bed, not giving it a second thought.
The next morning we woke up to a message from BBC Radio Devon – John Govier invited us to his morning show!
We were over the moon – one of our first English interviews on nowhere less than a BBC station. The county of Devon is about 4 hours away from London and since it was a morning show we left at 4am to make it there in time. We had prepared a live version of our song “I Don’t Know Birds That Well” (you can hear it in the audio clip) that we performed on the guitar and ukulele that we have brought with us.
BBC Devon is a lovely studio and we immediately got talking with the DJs and other musicians.
We ate our body weight in cakes and pies, laughed a lot and everyone in Plymouth was so welcoming and nice. At the end of the show we performed a cover song by Kings Of Leon with everyone at the studio but unfortunately it was cut off from the downloadable version. If anyone has a recording of it, please get in touch – we’d love to share it with you and add it to the archives!

A fun side story – on the way back to London we accidentaly found the perfect filming location to shoot our music video for “I Don’t Know Birds That Well”! You can read the whole story here – another MLT Club Exclusive 😉
Stay groovy,Mona & Lisa
I just spent about 20 minutes noodling around on Google Maps looking at the Isle of Portland. What a place!
