“Aera” 2013, Live Show – Photos
September 28th, 2013 – What had started off as a “dress rehearsal” for our upcoming national radio performance turned into possibly our favourite show we had played up to that point.
Part of the reason we scheduled this gig was to test our new line up (with Julia Schaffer on backing vocals) on stage one last time, before we were booked to play a broadcasted radio show to more than 200 000 people. So we got together with our pals from CRAESH, a local band and friends of ours and decided to throw a big musical party.
We put up posters, invited our fans and friends, announced it on Social Media and locked ourselves in the rehearsal studio to make sure we were able to bring our A-game. It turned out it wasn’t just the locals who turned up but that we even had some international visitors fly all the way to Vienna to catch the gig. Two of them are now even members of this MLT Club! 😉
We decided to film the show and ended up cutting together quite a few songs from that night for YouTube.
Johnny B Goode (Chuck Berry): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1lT9jF7HSU
For What It’s Worth (Buffalo Springfield): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NOGEqZklwg
Revolution (The Beatles): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meuvTd6HXuA
Mercedes Benz (Janis Joplin): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsGju3QRcVI
Day Tripper (The Beatles): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_2umIzuInc
People Are Strange (The Doors): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2p95rHrDuQ
We just checked … all videos of that gig combined have now been watched nearly 2 million times. We are glad we were able to share parts of that performance with so many people. Now we’d also like to share some more pictures from that night below (© Thomas Fuchs) ♥

You forgot the “People Are Strange” video… so it’s probably even more than 2 million 😉
But yeah, this gig was an unforgettable experience for me. <3
The only thing I regret was that I didn't have time for a sightseeing tour – I was in a beautiful city like Vienna, yet I wasn't able to see almost anything of it, because I had to fly back early next morning…LOL But it was still worth it, just too see your brilliant gig, and meet all of you people in person. You are all awesome (then and now) ^_^
And yeah, I was happy Den was able to watch this live online. I miss that guy. R.I.P. 🙁
Whoops, just added “People Are Strange” to the list 🙂
It was a great surprise and pleasure seeing you there! Knowing that Den was watching too made it even more special. We too all miss him dearly ♥
Thanks, Lisa. It was indeed special <3
BTW, I have to admit that, when Rudi initially told me that Den had been watching online, and showed me the camera, mounted up there, I didn't realize what he was talking about (maybe it was too noisy and I didn't hear what he was saying). Then, when I said "Hi" to Den on Skype, and he said "Oh, but I watched the whole thing on live stream!", I was like "Aaaaah, so THAT was why Rudi was showing me that camera and talking about Den! Wow."… and I felt a bit silly…LOL I mean – it doesn't take a rocket-scientist to figure it out the first time, even if one hasn't heard clearly. 😛
But yeah, later, when Den passed away, and I remembered this, I thought it was really important and great that he *at least* managed to see a live gig by you that way, if not in person. <3
Itso, I know I have heard from you a few times in IFC about this gig. You even had a trivia question last week about it. Its great to see pictures from it now.
Thank you sir for the insight and thanks to Mona and Lisa for sharing a wonderful memory.
You are welcome, Rick 🙂
I can see the intensity of the playing in some of the shots here. Those videos you did show off just how fantastic you played that night. Thanks for the photos.
Love those videos and the photos are great too! It’s impossible for you girls to take a bad picture! Absolutely lovely.
First off, Thankyou for the story behind that gig… And for the pix provided by ©Thomas Fochs… These video clips definitely have demonstrated your live gig essences and let your Live Gigging Groovy take on its own fun and direction. Hence, BAM Vol. 1 ‘s Birthplace/Conception… Lol… Certainly worth the listening/viewing/sharing… Kudos on this Sept. 28th/2013 Milestone in gigs…. Woohoo, MLTBuzzGroovyGemGolden?
What a wonderful show. If in 2013 I had been aware of your existence, we would have been three future members of the MLT to ” fly all the way to Vienna to catch the gig”.
But thanks to Youtube (thanks to Steve Chen, Chad Hurley and Jawed Karim), this evening continues to live to the delight of all of us. Thank you.
Nice. Those are some great shots to go with a great story. Thanks for sharing.
