I Don’t Mind – Duo Session

I Don’t Mind, I Don’t Mind, I Don’t Mind …

This is the first time we wrote a song specifically for a Duo Session album. And we liked doing that! The limitation of having only two vocals, one guitar and one ukulele to arrange the whole song made us go back to the basics of song writing. Each element had to do its job well enough.

It was released on the The Duo Sessions II album last year already but we’re happy to finally share the video for it. Only one video off the album left now … !

Should we post this one to YouTube later, what do you think?

We hope you enjoy it ♥

Stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

  1. I just love it … great song with super lyrics and a lot of humor too. Lisa, you leads are amazing and Mona you carried the song beautifully.

  2. Release it to the World! I really like this song. Duo Sessions are always my favorite.especially if its an original.

  3. All the songs always pair beautiful melodies and harmonies with insightful and uplifting lyrics. MLT songs always warm the heart. 🙂 Another fine example here.

  4. The more I listen to this I am realizing it’s a bit of a workout vocally. It is fast paced without a lot of breathing room. Bravo! Another favorite Duo Session.

Imagine life without laughter, just kidding. I have no idea what that would be like.

  5. Neat song! If you do it a couple more times, “I don’t mind”, “I don’t mind”, “I don’t mind”.

  6. Mona Lisa, Lisa Mona,

Your Musical Performances are always great, and “getting better all the time!” But I also wanted to comment on your hair styles. I find it very interesting seeing all the different hair colors & hairdo’s that you both come up with! I really like the 2-tone effects that you achieve, and that your appearances change with almost each new video!

I really like Mona’s blonde hair, but also the contrasts in very blonde, medium, darker blonde & of course the 2-tone. Today, your dark natural color in the front & dark blonde on the ponytail in back, & braids on the top looks very stunning! But I also like the dark blonde flowing hair along with some natural color layered in!

And Lisa’s hair always looks very pretty — dark red, or flaming red, and every shade in between! Whether long & flowing, or with one, or two braids, or done up in the back, your hair always looks absolutely beautiful! And both your hair styles frame your faces very well!

You both also take great care in picking exotic & colorful styles in clothing! You don’t try to copy the typical styles of today, which is very refreshing! And I like the way you use just the right amount of makeup to highlight your faces without overdoing it, as some women do. It’s just not necessary to overdo makeup. You both come off as very natural, real people!

I would even like to see NO makeup sometime. Your faces are pretty enough without!
But I do think that you both have the perfect makeup application down pat. And of course, in your video — “MAKE SHOW” you have a bigger makeup effect which is PERFECT for that particular song!

Sorry to go on and on about this, but I’m sure that all your Club Members also appreciate the extra care and work you put in to achieve perfection, in your personal presentation, Duo Session backgrounds, outdoor and indoor backgrounds & settings, & rehearsal time needed for each final performance. Then add in your delightful personalities, humor, family work ethic, attention to detail, and you collectively achieve as close to perfection as is humanly possible every time!

Although I do listen to lots of different Musical Artists in various styles, I’m very happy that I joined the MLT Club because you have become my favorites! Everything you do is of such a high quality, that it’s a pleasure every day to come home from a hard day’s work, (or a “Hard Day’s Night”) & enjoy your new & older performances, pictures, “Behind the Scenes,” & everything else on your MLT Site! Plus, you really care about all your fans, and WE care about YOU! We look forward to your increasing success!!

Mona & Lisa, you both ROCK, & your Whole Family is AWESOME!
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

    1. I agree Bud. I love Mona and Lisa’s style, like their music it’s all their own, always stunning and beautiful, and immensely cool!

  7. Lovely song – what a nice way to start the weekend! Those beautiful, cheerfully colored outfits go perfectly with the song, including that pretty flower ring Lisa is wearing.

I personally think you need to release a few songs soon to take advantage of the interest the livestream may have generated. I would also love to see “Alone” released (I absolutely love that song), “Catch the Wind”, and …

Your version of Melanie Safka’s “Look What They’ve Done To My Song, Ma”, was so well done, down to the clothes and Mona’s braided hair. I not sure what is proper here, but I wonder if and when it might be released as a tribute.

  8. By chance I just happened to have this album on playing full-blast on my drive to and from The Glasshouse, Gateshead (for the Pop & Rock choir I attend there), yesterday. What a great way to warm up the vocal chords singing (almost in key!) at the top of my voice while literally “Gannin Alang the Scotswood Road” (look it up, it’s a thing).

The Glasshouse was hosting Manchester’s Halle Orchestra last night. Couldn’t help wonder if you might know some of the musicians playing? I guess it’s a small world when you’re professional musicians.

Loved the video (such a crisp, uplifting sound) and think you should definitely share it with the world.

I notice many YouTubers put a little bit on their videos saying something like “If you’d like to hear one of our latest songs [points to top right hand corner of screen] you can check this out; and if you’d like to see our first concert when we were knee-high to a grasshopper [points to top left hand corner of screen] go here.” Maybe pick some of your most watched vids and insert links to some of your material which doesn’t get watched so much, but which should be?

But whatever you do, stay groovy

  9. Oh my! I Don’t Mind listening to this all day long!!! Such good vibes need to be shared for sure! The two of you need to be appointed the “Ambassadors of Groovy” and charged with spreading a pandemic of goodwill.

  10. 11. YouTube every thing share your music to the world, I spread the word but not always can people actually get to see what I am talking about. This is a nice simple little song made even more enjoyable by watching it being performed.

  12. Wow! I already loved the song. The video was great. Your vocals as bright as your eyes, and the instrument work was fantastic… especially on the ukulele, Lisa!! Well done, and great accompaniment on the Epiphone, Mona. You both looked like you really, really didn’t mind bringing it!! And, yes, I would definitely share it with the world through YouTube. Great performance and video. I loved it! ❤️

  13. Loved it when you looked at each other and smiled at the end. And I know why on this song; it’s a little feel good tune. Peace be

  14. Every time I hear this song it gets stuck in my head for a week. Looks like it’s going to be in there for another few weeks now! It’s OK, I don’t mind.

  15. I love the song and the video! Y’all always look like you’re having so much fun doing the videos and that makes watching the videos so fun for me! I can’t wait to see your next videos!

  16. I love it. While I enjoy all your music, my favorites are your originals and Duo Sessions. But a Duo Session of an original, well it just doesn’t get any better than that. Yes, share it with the world.

  17. Always great, Mona and Lisa, to watch you perform a Duo Session. An excellent performance. “Going back to the basics”, as you said, it fun and effective.

I attached a link to a song that you will like and even would like to cover. Kind of in a melancholy mood today, applied and got so far in the process for a job in professional baseball but did not quite make it. Was ready to retire early from teaching if it came through, but “I Don’t Mind”…would have ended up being kind of a gypsy and I am happy teaching. I guess that’s why this song came to mind.

Keep up with all the great stuff that you do!

  18. I love the way you put the words together in this song, very catchy. To me it’s a little reminiscent of Melanie’s songwriting. Laughter may be the most important thing in life. If you can’t have fun then is there any point in living. Always love a new music video, please post it on YouTube.

  19. Post this to YouTube? Let’s see… nice catchy tune, wonderful lyrics, out of this world harmonies, amazing skill in playing the instruments, colourful, vibrant and cheery looking hosts, put it all together makes you feel good and puts a smile on your heart and face… well the world needs it more than ever so yes please post! Thank you for the smiles! 🙂

  20. Lisa on the uke is great! 👩‍🦰 👍 I’m gonna have to buy me one and add it to my collection in recording. This is a great song and I love this song and the harmony 🎤 is fantastic! Keep em coming 👱‍♀️ 👩‍🦰 🎸

LISA, if you see this post, please tell me what to look for in a ukulele.

  21. What a fun song! I love the line about getting old means you need to be serious. I think of it the other way around, if you’re too serious, you’ll get old!

  22. Howdy,
What can I say that hasn’t already been said?
I Love It. And it’s so sweet to always see your smiling faces and the enjoyment you get out of singing & playing a song. Now I’ll be smiling & grinning all day. Thank You. Yes, post it.
Oh and Mona & Lisa, you mentioned that you are considering other cover songs – Well – I’m going to ask you again – Please Please Me – Just take a few minutes to listen to Jim Croce’s Time in a Bottle – and I’m pretty sure you might wanna do it . (I sent you a CD of Croce and another club member sent you a vinyl album). Just listen to the song and you will love it. Thank You Girls. Have a Great Weekend
    Bobby S. 😎❤️🎵🎵🧛‍♂️

  23. Absolutely post it to YouTube for the general public to view…while on that subject I don’t know if you realize from your first Duo Session CD there remains one video that hasn’t gone to the general public yet…Pretty Flamingo…I hope it gets posted in springtime or summer…it’s that kind of song….also….in America it’s INCOME TAX time January through April…great time for TAXMAN to be released to the public……well as usual I love what you girls do and Thank You for doing it❤️🧡

  24. The song is so uplifting, I feel so good towards the end. I love the lyrics, the message is so inspiring, life doesn’t have to be so serious, you have to be able to laugh and have fun. For me it’s a beautiful love song that expresses unconditional love, so long as you can laugh and have fun. 😊 Love your beautiful harmonies, and the ukelele work is magical.

Absolutely this should be released to the public, would be an injustice to confine such a uplifting beautiful heartwarming song. Let the world enjoy it too, that is a virtue to share your beautiful magic.

Love this song, love you both. It fills me with joy when I hear it. 💖
    Thank you.

    Jung

  25. Then the weekend is saved – wonderful.

Thank you very much Mona and Lisa – you two have done it again.

Thinks that You Tube should be enriched with another perfect number from you two🤩🤩

  26. I love this song, it makes me get a smile on my face, great harmonies once again thank You for sharing the clip!
I would love to see the last one from the album. I allso hope this summer we can spot the video of ” Summer Rain” ??

  27. Thanks for the wonderful start to my Friday morning breakfast getting ready for workday! Excellent playing, singing, musical style and Uke solo! And I love your beautiful outfits! I could get use to this! You are both — THE BEST!

Have a great weekend! — Bud

  28. This song speaks to my impatience with the humorlessness of public opinion! Laughter is the best medicine. Since increasing my work hours lately I’ve been reminded of it more than ever. Lovely song!

  29. Hello Ladies,
Such a bright cheerful song. Even a sprinkle of darkness thrown in. You all look well rested. The simplicity of this song shines through even though I’m sure it wasn’t that simple to write. Your talents are limitless. Thanks Ladies BTW YES! The world needs to hear this song with a bit of backstory
    Best

  30. Great video, really enhances the song and its message. Of course I always see you as ‘I don’t mind’ kind of people due to your sense of humour! Good plan to YT it as the next release.

  31. Excellence again love this song and the Duo II CD you really shine again love the videos you put out with the singing as to sharing I DONT MIND 😉🙄

  32. I love the tone and message of this song! To me it says that if you and your sweetie can find the humor in any situation and openly joke about it, you’ve discovered the secret to a happy and long-lasting relationship.

  33. THANK YOU GIRLS!!!
Just what I needed after this past week at work.
My weekend is officially off to a GROOVY START!
Missed those beautiful, smiling faces last week.
    Love this song!!

    Love & Hugs💛💓

  34. OMG What a great way to start our Friday! Great video and the voices are heavenly to me. It amazes me how you both take any song and make it sound so good and fun, and Lisa your lead on this song is fantastic as Mona keeps the rhythm. Going and not missing a beat. Your talents are so lovely and beautiful it makes me smile each time you both talk and laugh and share your talents with us, so glad to be a member of the MLT club and meet new members. Thank you so much for this wonderful video and god bless you both, can’t wait for next Friday.
Hugs and Love from Bill and Maddie Isenberg Huge fans from Pittsburgh PA USA

  35. Great song… great video! I love the mixture of the ukulele and guitar! I like the way your expressions and smiles, and even clothing match the song! My 11 year old granddaughter plays the ukulele. She has even entered a talent contest at her school. Last summer I bought her a youth guitar! Now she’s taking lessons for both! I send her these songs of yours that have both of them in it! She loves them! 🤓

  36. This song definitely deserves to be shared! Lighthearted and catchy, just what the doctor ordered for an early start (over here anyway) to a busy day for me.
Cool truss rod cover on that uke Lisa! I really have to get more friendly with my ukulele…

  37. What a bright and beautiful start to my day! This song never fails to lift my spirits; it makes me grin from ear to ear. The performance is so bubbly and light-hearted that it is easy to miss the fact that the lyrics are crafted precisely and intelligently and the music is actually very challenging. Altogether, this song and its performance could be a signature piece for Mona and Lisa, so well does it express the gift they are to the world.

  38. Yes, please show this off on YouTube. We loved this one upon our first listen. It’s very catchy done with that classic MLT groove. I don’t mind, I don’t mind, I don’t mind

  39. First, anytime I get to hear you two sing together acoustically I think it adds fifty or sixty days to my lifetime, so please do more of it. Second, nice to see the uke out and about, it’s been a while. Third, thanks for all you do for us here in the Club; like a lot of long-time friendships, appreciation is understood but often under-expressed.

  40. Really cool song! I had never heard it before and I thought that the changes sounded interesting and the harmonies were delicately shaped over them. Such a nice job by both of you!!!

  41. What a great start to an otherwise mundane Friday! The venerable Epi and Lani doing what they were destined to do, backing up yet another amazing MLT original! Unrivaled harmonies come to the forefront as usual, but there’s so much to love about this song, another lyrical masterpiece! THANK YOU! 👏👏👏👏 I’ve no doubt dear Melanie loved this, and God bless and comfort her friends and loved ones. 🙏

  42. Please post your beautiful music on YouTube. MLT music constantly has amazing melodies. The song has a timeless and classic vibe. I’ll repeat myself by saying they never repeat themselves! Can’t wait to see what is next…..
