while the second  (EM225C) has a shape of a cut “Dreadnought”, a Spruce soundboard and an AP4 pickup (piezo only).

Well, in fact I recognize that the Maton EBG8008CL Performer and the EM225C are not identical. I could have looked a little better and avoided this question. Mea culpa.
The first has a form of “Grand Auditorium” cut, a Bunya soundboard and an AP5 pickup (piezo and microphone).
    There it is.

You’re lovely Mona and save me a lot of money.

Thanks so much to both of you (Michaela and you).

    Cheers.

Thank you John, actually I’m back but I’ll remain very discreet. Still concerned about the MLTs’s guitar though, asking a question now and then. Greetings.

    Hello Mona,

Thank you for your answer but are you sure a 100% that it’s a Maton EBG808CL “performer” and not an EM225C? A “Performer” is three times more expensive than the EM225C and visually they are absolutely identical.

As for the Varia Studio 6: do not underestimate it:

As I introoduced myself upon arrival, I write these few words to greet all members of the forum who welcomed me, answered, and encouraged my posts. I also greet guitar enthusiasts, silent readers and of course all the wonderful team of MLTs who have been so cooperative in answering my tedious questions. I’m leaving the Fan Club because after about 5 months of discoveries of  beautiful old images and past stories which just make me regret having come too late ,I must say that finally what interests me most is to hear them sing and play and also I would like to allocate the 12 $ to other young talents. I will though remain attentive to any production of MLTs. I will not fail to buy all future CDs and attend future concerts.

    Farewell to all.

That would be a real challenge!

When you say “pale in comparison”, I understand quite well. When you’re in love with someone or something, everything else looks “pale in comparison”. This is valid for all of us otherwise we would not be here, in the MLT Fan Club! You right and though John did not agree, Paul states that some of the covers might be bether than the originals. And that’s the case with the MLT’s Beatles covers. Do not forget though that John and Paul created those songs and that’s huge! But as reinterpretation comes the MLT are  the best.

When you say “For me the  experience of listening to the cover must have some differentiation from the original or what is the point.” You’re right, Off course you won’t listen to a perfect cover of a song but in live session it’s great. When you are at the Cavern Club  and listen to those Bands playing the Beatles music accuretly to the original it’s really a great moment. Not so “pale” in that context.

Skip said “i do hope the Twins team up again on his 2020 tour – they make a fantastic trio”

I should say I do not. Their association with Mike Massé allowed me to see the MLTs on stage and that’s fantastic and I thank God for that but I found it was such a loss of talent to relegate the MLTs to musical  and harmonic support, that I was disappointed. To tell the truth, Mike Massé is exellent and does not need anyone. MLTs are also excellent and do not need anyone either. You would imagine Bob Dylan and John Lennon singing in chorus behind Janis Joplin? Well it would perhaps looks cool but would looks weird to, would it?
If it was in the form of duet or triplet, ie done in a more balanced way, like Goerge Harrison and Bob Dylan when they sing “If not for you”, then it would be fair and I’ll love it.

“For 12 strings, I have a thing for the Höfner acoustic. There is something so mellow about the tone and the playability is superb for a 12-string. We call her the Big Bertha. It was an impulse buy when we visited the big music store in Cologne/Germany. For 400€ we couldn’t leave her behind.”

    I could not either…

    Hello Howard,

Yes, you guessed it, I did not leave for a long time. I would have a service to ask you, as an Australian, nothing extraordinary and directly related to my interest in MLTs. You already guess what it will be … Since the forum does not provide for direct exchange between members, here is my email address angelo.zacchello@orange.fr
Can you get back to me, please? Still today if possible.

    Thank you and greetings

You’re wright Jacki when you say “Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and it is ok to respdisagree/agree with each other sometimes.” I’m am happy to see other people expressing other opinions. It’s interesting to see that even in a small community like ours, such a difference in opinion exists. Lets drop the “politically correct” and express ourself! Difference is in the human nature and it’s beautiful.

Hi Jung, the post you created yourself is “How did you experience your MLT joy today”. It is only for this purpose that I show my new guitar. This is the one Mona uses in “Waiting for the waiter”. Thanks to the MLT I reconnected with a passion (guitar playing) that I have always had but was idlle. I rediscover the music and even the singers I thought I knew like David Bowie for instence  thanks to the Starman version. I never thought I would ever use a resonator guitar and thanks to Mona I have one now and I love it. I like the old blues, the slide guitar sound and this guitar is fantastic.
