My artist had other ideas as to what he thought was best, so I went with his call. Turned out pretty well if I do say so. Wasn’t sure what to expect in the process, but while some of it burned fair high on the discomfort scale, it wasn’t unbearable at all. sort of a combination of a whole lot of bee stings bordering on the occasional horsefly bite. But at the end of the three hours I was pretty much done with it from my perspective. Still has the protective wrap on it in the photo, that comes off tomorrow and should be pretty well healed up.
Kyle (or “Moose” as he prefers) doesn’t like my eagle thing either, he says I should keep looking for a better suited one for the other arm location. Missus has a whole different thought/opinion on the second one haha. -
Well, it’s travel day, headed for Calgary in about two hours. Weather is grand so should be an easy trip. I have a couple things on my agenda over and above the tattoo appointment. One item involves checking out a rare motorcycle that’s up for sale (not for me darn it all), and the other involves my guitar and my favorite photographer friend. Planning another shoot this summer and I have a few racetrack after hours jams planned. Nothing elaborate, just some evening sit-down sessions with my race fam that do like me and stay at the track. I got chastised last season for sitting inside and playing and not coming outside to play for the gang. I will fix that. Hopefully I won’t need chicken wire!😆

Other than my bout of COVID in October, I haven’t really had much to complain about in 4-5 years. Lots to be said for caution in public and social distancing I guess. Some of my friends joked (I hope) that they’ve been trying to distance themselves from me for some time…🤣
Of late though, there has been an outbreak of RSV in our local healthcare facility so I haven’t gone in to visit my ailing family member since last Tuesday. I haven’t dropped the coin on the inoculation for it though. Hopefully I don’t regret that move, I hear from some that have suffered it and it’s very nasty. I will mask up and go in today though regardless. -
Dennis, I was remiss in thanking you for your hard work on this. Hats off man!

I just saw this on the MLT Facebook page a few minutes ago. Very sad indeed.
We only just recently spoke of the Twins admiration of her music and ability. Apparently she passed Tuesday but I never saw anything until the post on FB. And she was just working in the studio a couple weeks ago on an album of cover songs. That would have been epic. Another great musician and heart gone too soon.🙏💔 -
Late but happy welcome Van. Wow, that’s one heckuva resume, I bow to you sir!!! I play and sing some but nowhere near that level!
We walked all over downtown Austin looking for the SRV statue, then found out it was on the other side of the river when we got home. Awesome town to hear great music though. -
Welcome Phil. Groovy is an understatement!😃

Howya Mike! Great attitude toward life and determination!
Both sides of Grandparents came to Canada from the plains (Iowa) and the land of lakes (Minnesota) in the late 1800’s, ancestry is Wales and Ireland. We’re all cousins in one way or another I reckon. -
Welcome Alex! I found them on YouTube, then FB, and then once I figured out the ropes, found my way in here. Fabulous place.

Welcome from a long way north of you Marc. How far north? Head over to Phoenix, then go due north…about halfway to the north pole and you’ll be in my back yard! But Mona and Lisa still sound great up here, just like Florida.😉

Welcome along Jimmy! Not sure if there are others from Belgium, I didn’t check the map to see. No matter though, we’re all MLT Club family no matter where we’re based!

Thanks for your perspective JP! I have struggled with this for many years, wanting one (or more) but that anxiety and confusion over the permanence and possible regret ran high. I consulted with many friends before making the decision to go ahead with it. I will definitely go ahead with another one even if I don’t do my other arm. I will get a small insignia on my left chest that is the inlay on the 15th fret of my electric guitars. It’s a Cooper’s Hawk in flight, all PRS guitars with the bird inlays have it. And I’ll get either PRS under it or Paul’s actual signature if it’s isn’t any form of copyright infringement. Although I can’t see Paul himself being too upset at any player/fan bearing his signature in a tattoo…😉
I really do want an eagle on the other arm, but I’ll chill a bit and see if herself can warm to the idea. I know she’d tell me to go ahead, “it’s my body” type thing, but I don’t want her to think I’ve really lost it haha. At least no more than I ever was… -
I was able to see the Hotel California video (in Canada) a while back, haven’t tried lately but I’m going to haha.
Sadly Don Henley has a bit of an ego thing or something going on that most of the Eagles tunes are under strict copyright protection, including videos of solos, covers, and even instruction on their songs. Given Don’s personal net worth along with the Walden Woods and other holdings I think it’s fair to say he’s well healed enough that he could relax the grip a bit. Love the man’s music and respect his talent immensely but let the world enjoy the Eagles legacy even more please. -
I like that. Sadly, only have one cancer survivor in the family, the rest…😢

We’re in a mid winter warming trend now (thankfully). No more -40 for a while anyway. Good thing too, I have a couple road trips coming up. Annual Motorcycle and Sports Show in Edmonton this weekend and a trip to Calgary next week. Edmonton is a quick day thing, but Calgary will be 3 days and two overnights. Hoping for clear sailing to Calgary.
