I don’t think you’ll find anyone here who won’t rubber stamp that, Bill!

Hmmm… that’s a tough one, Juergen. I can think of a couple of songs that deal with bridges metaphorically, but as far as the actual thing the only one that comes to mind is London Bridge.

Way to go, Bill! If you’re wondering what happened to the weight you lost, I found it. Like you I dropped a lot of pounds a few years ago by going for frequent long walks. But for the last few months my work day has been starting very early and ending very late, which cuts down on the available time for walking and necessitates snacking between meals to keep my energy up. So the gut has returned, but I hope to get back in shape soon!

I’d love to do this drive sometime! I just need a reason to be in Louisiana…

That temporary message taught me a British term I hadn’t heard before, but apart from that, these problems with the website have been just gut-spannering.

I agree about the IT support issue. Team MLT are techno-whizzes, but these fixes shouldn’t need to consume the majority of their time.

Not that I can tell, Bill. I think the website crash has pushed back their timeline.

Since my first few listenings of the album my brain has established a new internal 24/7 radio station which plays only two songs: Why? and Any Other Day. No matter what I’m doing or thinking about, I’m always hearing one or the other.

It’s interesting that those songs get along so well in my head, because the characters they portray would in real life be roommates from hell if they lived together: one constantly railing against the demise of free society, and the other constantly gushing about her new boyfriend.

All in all, not a lot of changes since last month, apart from a big surge back to the stratosphere by PMP. Here Comes the Sun appears to be shaping up to be a perennial contender for the #2 spot on the view list.

    Hey, Tomás!

Well, we’ll see how accurate they turn out to be. The viewing rate for PMP has undergone some pretty drastic swings, so the predicted timing could be way off. But I think it’s a foregone conclusion that it’s destined for the top spot at some point.

Yay, that’s the fourth MLT video to reach that plateau!

This is all very tentative and approximate, but based on the October viewing rates, PMP will surpass When I’m Sixty-Four for third place late next January, While My Guitar Gently Weeps for second place in November 2024, and Drive My Car for first place in April 2025.

I’m sure it’s coincidental, but the section of Make Show where they stay on the same note for a long time (starting at 2:54 in the video) bears a significant resemblance to a similar section of Shorty Blackwell (starting at 2:19).

That’s really neat, David! Thanks for the insight. My one time in Louisiana was a drive straight across I-10. I recall it was pretty desolate and swampy from Lafayette to Lake Charles; glad I filled up the gas tank in Baton Rouge.

Here’s another long bridge drive I’d like to try. It’s actually only about four hours from me, so I could just about make a day trip out of it:

Wow, David, if I lived to be 1000 that never would have occurred to me! And I figured “in the works” meant “in progress”, i.e., he was becoming Spanish, which I thought was just an attempt at an absurd premise.
