One further item…I would argue that John Sebastian could play the harmonica with anyone…he was fantastic.

As an added touch I believe the organ used is a Hammond!!

Loved Ten Years After and then some of Alvin Lee’s solo work…the song you posted being one of my favorites. Here’s a great blues instrumental from Carlos Santana, Samba Pa Ti.

Member28/03/2023 at 21:41 in reply to: MLTs amazing Interpretation of music and Glenn GouldThx for the excellent post. As the years go by I find myself listening to Classical Music more often than not (though I listen to the MLT’s constantly!!). I have some Gould and really enjoy his Bach piano pieces. Back in those times (Bachs) most keyboard players learned to play on a Church organ and then harpsichord and eventually the piano. I truly love the sound of the pipe organ and hence my excitement in hearing the first MLT tune on the new Hammond they just bought Rudi!! It’s not a pipe organ but it’s second for me in the land of keyboard instruments. Especially with the Leslie.

Yeah, Fridays have become something to look forward to. Just like the old days when you couldn’t wait for Friday knowing the next 2 days would be free from “The Job”! Although I really did enjoy working most of the time. No idea of what the Twins will post this week but I’m rooting for a new Q&A or What’s on the Table. What ever they post I’m sure it will bring a smile to my face and warm the cockles of my heart!!

Looking forward to get the latest scribble along with the vinyl release of Why?. I have yet to decide how to display them all and need to bear in mind there will probably be more. So many difficult decisions we have to make😎

Scots/Irish here. Johnston and Murphy as grandparents. Use to go downtown DC to a bar called the Dubliner every St Patricks Day at noon. Drank green beer, Guinness or what ever was put in front of me and often sang Irish ballads with all the other crazies!! Can’t say I miss it now but when I was younger it sure was a lot of fun.

Johnny…speaking of Steve Winwood I remember seeing him at the Harvard Commons circa 1968/69 playing his hammond on Gimmie Some Lovin’. Here’s a video from his album “About Time” which is chockful of the Hammond and great percussion. “Why Can’t We Live Together” As with much of Winwoods music it is long, winding, jazzy and somewhat repetative. If you go to minute 4:20 there’s a nice section showing him playing the keyboard(s) nice and close up.
