I love the Beverly Hillbillies , watched reruns as a kid, own a few VHS/DVDs of some of the shows, Sharon Tate had appeared in a few episodes as different characters… Some years back there was a an awesome film made, well, in my opinion, it was and had the best casting, for the characters with Buddy Ebsen appearing as Barnaby Jones character in it, did you know that Buddy Essen was cast as original TinMan in W. Of OZ movie before he had to ditch role due to an almost fatal allergic reaction to the makeup used and the other guy took over the part (the guy’s name escapes me just now)

  • In full agreement of what’s been mentioned here and I’d like to add my 2 cents worth, that 14 yrs ago when I happily stumbled upon them on YT , whilst looking for out of curiosity for a half decent Mamas and Papas cover of ” California Dreamin “, well … when their cover version came on, from the get -go I was drawn to them, loved them instantly, something of their essences, or whatever it is, caught my attention right away, knew I was going to love their other music and decided right then and there to become a lifetime fan … and I’m going to say this, they are but of a rare awesome selection few in today’s music landscape that truly know what they’re doing, being genuine in their musicianship, doing things their own way independently with full control , not about caving in to be a made up image according to demand of record companies, etc, not sounding fake, etc… They are the Real Deal and there’s not many musicians out there in today’s landscape that I care to listen to, the rare some that I do enjoy in different genres and/or are their new / old schoolstuff from them. MLT have that beautiful bestowment distinction of appealing to All Age brackets … and refreshing breath of music air in today’s music landscape … ????☮

TThankyou Jurgen for your reply to me, and I agree with your sentiments, loved the links that you provided….

Will… Ozzie n Harriet a tad bit before my existencevby about 10-15 yrs…lol…. but do recall seeing “reruns” of it as a kid and teen , in the 70s/80s on tv….

In Canada , MuchMusic was the Canadian equivalent to USA MTV, and in Quebec there was it’s own version of a music channel called ” Musique Plus “… Also on Canadian tv there were video shows called ” Good Rockin Tonight “, ” Video Hits ” and a few others, that the names escape me just now… ????

Well, in the 80s, Duran2 to me were the pioneers of the more modern day video concept, but then again in retrospect, all those tv shows/film footage , such as Woodstock, etc in the 60s that showed Beatles, Dusty Springfield, Mamas and Papas, Cilla Black, etc in a way, perhaps inadvertently ahead of their time , I would say, might of been the true pioneers to the video concept, they just didn’t know/realize it of what it was called/were creating …until the 80s came along and redefined and/or introduced the concept to what we are all now familiar with… I hope I made me explanation understandable, , that is conveyed my point the way I intended to be said/understood, you may/may not agree with me and that’s fine either way…. ☮

Interesting topic, leaves it wide open, as of now anything is possible…. though I do hope human creativity is still an integral part still in future, A.I. just can’t perfect humanness no matter how close it can try …. Every century/generation/decade always sprouts new innovative ideas, etc… Only the future will hold the answer but I for one, believe it’s vital to maintain the human component /capacity, and/or at least Choose to do so, to continue… that’s my 2 cents worth….☮

Yknow…what matters to me is the song being sung, regardless of the gender of lyrics… and I do agree that original lyrics should stand but hey if its sung really awesome with lyric change and it works, why not…. it’s ok to get quirky once in awhile….????????

I liked the STOMP stuff using all sorts of garbage containers, etc to make music…. I do enjoy unique instruments to see being played, sounds they make, the weirder the inventive instrument, the more I’m intrigued, fascinated….????

Jung, the Beavertail…lol… Though, I can no longer enjoy those because of my nut allergies, as tgey use nuts/Nutella spread on the premises of the Beavertail kiosks, when I previously could enjoy them (pre nut allergy), my fave was cinbamon/lemon juice/brown sugar… A Beavertail for those that aren’t familiar with, is a flat, deep fried doughnut like pastry to which you can add your fave toppings to enjoy, and it does resemble a Beavertail…lol… Um, Tourtiere Pie in Quebec, tgere are some Canucker cuisine out there, it’s just mixed in with all other cultural cuisine out there that’s available…????????????
