May I throw a little Floyd in?

Pink Floyd released one of their first singles,”Arnold Lane” in 1967. It peaked at twenty in the UK charts, though it was banned on some stations.

This is really sub-par compared to everything posted here. This video is basically the band just messing around. Keep in mind, these are some of the people behind “Dark Side Of The Moon”.

I agree. Orange flows very well from beginning to end. It’s definitely one of those albums that begs to be listened to from beginning to end.

I like to compare “Club 27” to Pink Floyd’s “Great Gig In The Sky” Both albums cover life experiences and the human condition in their own way with a song about death placed near the end. The segue from “The Future “ to “No More Worries Company “ begins the journey. Just a couple thoughts.

New album, long car ride, and plenty of java sounds perfect.

    Congratulations Bill!

Sleeping in till six sounds refreshing. When you wake in the morning your first thought will be Alice Cooper,”School’s out, for-ev-er!”

Remember, with age comes the entitlement for a second piece of pie, well maybe just a sliver. Sounds like you have plans for some great adventures. Now keep in mind, when you share your adventures with us some of us may be a tad jealous, so maybe point out how you miss going to work and wish you could go back to the daily grind.

We’re very happy for you and wish these are “The Best Years Of Our Lives”.

    Hi Jung,

The Carl Sagan reading made me think of this song,”The Speck of Dust”

    https://youtu.be/a1zNRIs0OiMhttps://youtu.be/a1zNRIs0OiM

These lyrics portray a similar tone. The throat singer is different but it fits. I found this band when I was looking for Steely Dan covers. They are pretty kool.

Beware: searching “the speck of dust” opens some very deep rabbit holes. ????????????????????

I just remembered this “Irish” music. The Chieftains give this Who classic a real Irish vibe.

Wouldn’t this be nice for a Duo Session?

We like the skydiving vlog and the marathon vlogs – and all the others in between. They all have such a friendly welcoming vibe and their production quality is second to none. They look fantastic on a big screen whether on location in the Wagner kitchen, down a dark dusty highway, or leaping out of an airplane.

Watching these young ladies achieve so many personal goals is very inspiring. Eighteen year olds celebrate their birthday by jumping out of an airplane. I wonder if Rudi and Michaela broke the world record for holding their breath.

The recent marathon video looks like a documentary from the Learning Channel, but with better soundtrack. It really feels like we are there as the ladies narrate their adventures.

Lisa and Mona are naturals in front of as well as behind the camera. It’s always impressive how they produce a BTS video at the same time they are filming a music video.

    Friday?

No. 1 “Wooly Bully” Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs

Huh? I thought that was a fifties song.

After some further research it appears David is correct with the number one for 1983. We heard the Flashdance song a lot that summer. Keep in mind, FM radio was now competing with this new thing called Music Television. So every song that got played to death on MTV was played to death on FM radio.

The Police were everywhere then. They released a song that read like a stalker’s manuscript and we ate it up.

    Every breath you take
    And every move you make
    Every bond you break
    Every step you take
    I’ll be watching you

Thanks for the recommendation, Jung. This definitely passes the ski test. I can’t wait. I also checked out this ‘cover’ of the 2nd movement

    https://youtu.be/a8FnmdNi-Xchttps://youtu.be/a8FnmdNi-Xc

It’s so kool how the conductor’s face hints at each note’s arrival. Some of the musicians show that same emotion on their faces. I can see he is more of a director like Rudi in the I Wanna Kiss You BTS.

You can certainly tell it’s a strenuous workout for each and everyone of them. I find myself marveling at the rests. They all pause at once and then begin at the same beat and tempo. Lisa and Mona can do this perfectly as we’ve seen in some Duo Sessions.

In World Cup Ski racing, the difference between first and second place can be measured in hundredths of seconds. Hey, how did the race go? I lost by fifteen hundredths of a second. Imagine if the skiers were told they had to hit certain gates at the same time, and then fall back and catch back up. On top of that, they have to finish at the exact same time.

    Orchestras are so amazing.

    Thanks David,

I wonder why that .10 viewer can’t bring the other nine tenths to the game.

    Thanks for keeping score,

Thanks for the translation of Ode to Joy. This piece is very moving with or without singing. I think I will add it to my skiing playlist.

Have you ever seen this one?

When you said,”music can fill the darkness with light” I immediately thought of Songbird. I guess MLT has become part of my psyche.

    Hi Michael,

They are not in the Out of Stock section either. Collectors items? I think I have four. I am going to gather them and make sure they are in a safe place.

    Hey Jung,

You’ve got that right. They really tear it up with “Bulldog”. That was a very tight line-up. It’s quite apparent that the band is having fun. The guitars sound so kool.am expecting every audience to bark and howl when this song is played.

  • David, when I first heard the opening bass notes of “Questionable” I thought of “Time of the Season”. Hmmm
