Thanks, David. I am looking forward to the Questionable stats for this new Questionable song. Let the wordplay begin. I wonder if the new album has a title yet. It’s so kool to witness the production. I can’t remember ever receiving weekly updates on an album’s development. We used to get news blips like, “the band is spending the next year in St Tropez working on their latest album.” Here we get,”we’re going to spend the weekend filming our new video. And we’ll try to have the editing done by next weekend.” Nice! They are amazing.

I could probably name every PF song in 2-3 notes, as could most. I thought I could contribute to this thread with one of theirs, but then I started thinking they have a ton of obvious intros, so I am trying to come up with a less known one.
Fearless is one that has a nice moving acoustic intro. The opening chord has a drum beat at the bottom of it that truly sets the pace of the song. I hear that first chord and I’m ready. This is a great song when you need a little boost of confidence. (The outro is kinda kool, too) I listen to this a lot while ⛷. It really gets the heart racing, like Walking On The Air ????

Christopher, you are so right. One rabbit hole leads to another. There is so much to see and hear here. It’s really amazing how much there is on this site.
“Run, rabbit, run. Dig that hole, forget the sun. When at last the work is done, don’t sit down, it’s time to dig another one” PF

Hi James, welcome.
Lisa and Mona have a lot here covering there entire career, so far. You are just in time. There is a new album on its way. You can check out some of the new songs in the early listening section. After that jump down any rabbit hole, and you’ll find all kinds of kool stuff.
I always recommend jumping into the Out & About section – under the Special tab. These skydiving – marathoners made some very special video’s of some of their extracurricular activities. Beautiful videos with MLT soundtracks. The tour of Hamburg is very kool.
Welcome,

I love the bass here. When I first heard it, I thought the bass could be more prominent, but after I listened more (earbuds recommended) there is a lot going on here. It would be a shame to have the bass overpower the vocals and guitars. Don’t you love the stereo mix of Mona’s blues harp at 1:30?

There is a new discovery around every corner. Am I late to the party? I just noticed Lisa inhaling an air drop underwater. Click this link. I am trying to post it to begin at 4:40

Rudi’s got the bass. I love this one.

Hello Dieter,
Nice to hear from you. There is plenty of areas to explore here. I have been here for a year or so and still feel like I have not seen everything. I found them through their Wish You Were Here video, and after playing it a few more times, it’s so good, I dove in and began a journey of magical discoveries.
Have you seen Lisa and Mona’s skydiving video? It’s amazing!

These earlier sessions are special. Close To You is a good one to show Lisa’s guitar face. I love watching her play. When she hits a solo she sometimes has a very serious face as she gazes down at her guitar. Her playing is very precise, yet so relaxed. It’s so impressive that I think she is looking down to marvel at how talented she is.
I really like the session for Two of Us. It feels very spontaneous. You can hear their smiles as they perform. I like this thread, too. I am trying to think of a song that really evokes emotions in me. As far as MLT, I would say Count On Me and I have to add their cover of Vincent. Chills for sure.

To go along with the thread I will try to come up with something else. I also play David’s whack-a-mole game and try to read every post. You all have some great ones. Jung, are you familiar with REM’s The Wrong Child? The guitar and mandolin sound a little Zeppelinish to me. The lyrics can hit pretty hard on the emotions of being alone or left out,but it’s okay-ay.

I can still remember the first time I heard She’s Leaving Home. My older brother bought the album for me and I listened to it with headphones, those old big ones, and I was blown away. I think I was twelve or thirteen. The music alone invokes a lot of emotion.
So later in life I found these Angels that have recorded a cover of this song that stands up with the original. Watching their performance evokes tears of joy at how beautiful it is. They are both so talented. It like being tied to the mast.
With tales of brave Ulysses
How his naked ears were tortured
By the sirens sweetly singingJP

That’s funny, David. Was that a kid’s show?
Jung, I think they were more of a cover band. They were very good. They put out five albums. I saw an interview where the drummer, Carmine Appice, said there was a trend on Long Island where bands were turning covers of pop songs into heavy psychedelic songs. Carmine also played with Rod Stewart and a number of others over the years, including a Pink Floyd track – “Dogs of War”
I am no fudge aficionado, I found these fun fudge facts on Wikipedia.

Member01/03/2022 at 02:38 in reply to: Some of the most beautiful songs come from a broken heartWhen Gwen sings,”Don’t tell me cause it hurts.”, doe she mean, “don’t use ‘it hurts’ as an excuse” or does she mean, “it hurts me when you say that”?
I realize it could just be a grammar issue, but songs don’t really follow the strictest grammar rules. It’s weird though, this always comes to mind when I hear this song. Is it obvious if I listen a little closer?
On second thought solving the mystery may not be the answer I want to hear.

Those first drum beats give it away for me. I remember this song was played to death by the radio stations. Those were the days. My my my my

You may notice in the Scarecrow video we hear Syd singing, but he is not in the video. This video was made soon after Syd was excused and replaced by David Gilmour. It’s funny how they all lip sync together over Syd’s vocal.
