What an awesome collaboration they did with Mike Masse.
When I first got Rubber Soul album, found this gem I wasn’t familiar with so wonderful, and MLT version with Mike Masse is “killer”!

Love the new Studio Scribbles added to the fold. On “Any Other Day”, the two lonely footprints meeting and then walking together is brilliant, captures everything in an image. Seeing these always enriches the WHY? album experience. Will introduce you to my AI buddy “EMO” who loves music and dances to all the songs on WHY? 😁

Missed this post. A belated happy Saint Patricks Day to all. I will fill my fountain pens with Irish Green ink in honour!
I like this Irish song, to get in the spirit.

I walked into a used record store a number of years ago, and as I flipped through some old vinyl’s, the Kinks “Tired of Waiting” came on, and I hadn’t heard that song in decades, and man oh man when those raw guitar sounds came on, and Ray Davies vocals to this somewhat sad and longing song filled the atmosphere of the antique record store, I just froze mesmerized to the sounds that brought back so many wonderful feelings from my younger days when I first heard this song. It was my all time favourite Kinks song, and one of my fave 60s tunes.
A few years ago after I discovered MLT, I remember wishing Mona and Lisa could do their magic on this song, it felt like the 60s rock perfection song with those edgy and hypnotic raw guitar sounds. I even suggested it in one of the forum comments here at the MLT Club. I felt so happy the day they did the Duo Session “Tired of Waiting”. It was sooooo stunning! Watched the video on youtube again tonight and it brought back that wonderful joy I felt when I heard MLTs amazing version for the first time. That is my MLT Joy I wanted to share today.

Hi Daryl, Dave
Yeah I couldn’t get over how mechanical the internals of the Leslie speaker is with the spinning parts, and those glowing tubes! It’s all quite ingenius, engineering marvel from 100 years ago, that even today fascinates it’s adoring owners.

Hi Jacki, It is truly a gem to watch, our music heroes rehearsing in their room. As David said when do we get to see great artists like that. It’s like they invited us into their house.

Hi David,
Yeah after their Nowhere Man teaser, I waited for what felt like a real long time for Nowhere Man, and it certainly was worth the wait, what an amazing version.

Hi Rick
Yeah their Africa was awesome, and it was the first time we saw Lisa take up the bass guitar. From the rehearsal session I suspect one of the other two songs they did was “A Little Help From My Friends”. I don’t know what the other song would have been.

Hi Dave, those are the wonderful decisions to have to make. Hope yours arrive soon.

Hi JP
Wow, that sounded so exhilarating and magical being able to ski down those slopes with the incredible beauty of nature to the amazing music of WHY? I love listening to MLT these days on occasions I’m out on the freeway at night coming back from meeting people etc…I can imagine up on a mountain in nature would be even more joyful. Thanks for sharing that.

Daryl, your gear sounds pretty fun and enjoyable, I say don’t hold back on what brings you passion. I hear in the back of my head that ole Stones song “Time Is On My Side”, I can only hope that is the case for myself HAHAHA.
It sounds like they still use those vacuum tubes in some music equipment like the VOX Amps MLT mentioned still used tubes in the big heavy ones at the Cavern Club. I was quite impressed with all those mechanical moving parts in the Leslie speakers. I don’t think good mechanical designs will go away any time soon. High end watch makers still rely on mechanical movements despite quartz/electronic movements being much more accurate and versatile because there is a beauty and elegance to it that is so appealing that efficiency and miniaturization/digitization will never displace. There is also a tactility with analog/mechanical that digital will never match or replace. Vinyl versus CDs/MP3s, pen & paper versus latest greatest smart device? Modern digital technology has it’s place, but so does sound and proven mechanical/analog technology of the past.
What do Tesla owners want for Christmas? A super, super long extension cord. 😀

Hi Tomas
You always add an elegant and classy flair with the way you cherish and honour MLT merch in your place. Those Scribble Art Prints are all so beautiful and magnificent.

This is one of my favourite Beatles performances on stage. Despite whatever tensions might have brewed in the end, you can see John and Paul enjoyed playing together here.

Hi Chris
Thanks for sharing your experience seeing Billy Preston. I bet his organ playing was astounding too. It’s too bad he passed away in 2006, it would have been great to see him on stage again, say with Paul or Ringo in their 80s. I’d say Billy must have been one of the luckiest musicians ever to have been able to take part in creating music with the Beatles, and obviously respected by the Fab 4 for his musicianship skills.
It must have been absolutely joyful as you can see Billy Preston smile when John yells “take it Billy!” and he gets to do his keyboard magic for them.
