Hi Chris,
I’m sorry for never getting back to you here! You will have probably seen the updates on the Facebook situation since but here’s a quick re-cap.
A few months ago, our Facebook Page got hacked and we lost access to it. The hackers ran fake ads in our name and later also deleted 4 years’ worth of content from our page 🙁 which is why the last post you saw was about the Christmas album in 2019. While we thankfully regained control of the page again and are able to post new content, we have not been able to recover any of the old posts, including videos that had millions and millions of views. The Facebook support team has been horrendous from the minute we got hacked, acting incredibly slow and making things worse while trying to “fix” the situation.
We might make a longer post/update about the whole fiasco at a later point but I hope that explains it well enough here 😊
Thank you for your concern ♥ -

Thanks for letting us know! That certainly was an unintentional error that must have happened when I updated some of the video pages.
I fixed it now: https://test4.monalisa-twins.com/whats-on-the-table-my-generation/
All the best!-

Thanks John,
You’re making me blush over here.
I am glad you like my guitar playing, but believe me when I say there is a lot I wouldn’t even attempt, knowing my limits. 😉I can’t let it rip like Hendrix, play finger-style like Tommy Emmanuel, get a rich tone like SRV, pick as fast as Steve Vai or play the blues like B. B. King. But my guitar journey was never really focussed on “virtuous” playing or mastering one specific style or technique, but rather acquiring the skills to serve whatever songs we were playing and writing. And our favourite songs to cover usually don’t involve any crazy shredding or super virtuous guitar picking, as that isn’t really part of the music we like most.
Saying that, one of my favourite Beatles tunes is “And Your Bird Can Sing” which starts off with a rather crazy guitar line. I’ve never tried playing it but I think that that would give me a bit of a hard time, especially in the beginning. But I want to take on the challenge one day 🙂
Thanks!

Hi Tom,
First of all, sorry for only now getting back to this. We’re switching to Video Q&A Sessions instead of the written Forum answers but are making our way through all the December questions we never got around to answering.
We really appreciate the message of support and believe us when we say that we too have watched the Austrian development in horror. We’re glad we’re not living there at the moment and salute everyone that’s speaking up.
Thanks Tom!

Oh, thanks Diana ????
I wish I could send you some links but unfortunately the blouse thingy I am wearing doesn’t even have tags in anymore. It’s actually Michaela’s and she said that she’s had it for years and unfortunately doesn’t even remember the shop she bought it from. I did a reverse google image search and the closest I could find was this little romper here: https://www.shoptiques.com/products/sea_gypsies_by_lost-moody-blues-romper
But that’s a romper, not a top so I’m not sure if that’s much of interest to you, especially for that price 🙁
I then put on a jeans vest on top. Again, I tried to find something similar online, but I can’t find one that you can tie together in the front like mine for the life of me. Maybe I am using the wrong search terms?? But any ol’ jeans vest would look good with it I reckon 🙂
We love thrifting and looking for unique pieces so it’s sometimes hard to point you to places you can get something similar! Sorry I couldn’t be of much help this time!

Hi Roger,
Oh thanks, I am so glad you noticed and liked the artwork. It was a quick watercolour painting I did as we needed a fitting backdrop for the lyrics page.
I wanted it to feel like you’re looking out the window after a bit of summer rain 🙂 I used some liquid masking tape to block out the raindrops, painted the background, peeled off the masking tape and filled in the drops. It was a really quick but fun project. I remember sitting at the kitchen table, Mona was drawing something else (we both can’t remember what) and Michaela also joined us for a bit. We were all drinking tea.
Your question brought back a fond memory, thanks for that 😉

Hi Deidre,
We’re definitely aware of them and of how great of a job they are doing covering the Beatles.
Usually, we’re not seeking out Beatles cover bands (maybe because we’ve already listened to what must have been hundreds during our time in the Cavern Club) but we have nothing but respect for great musicians like them that love the Beatles as much as we do 🙂

Hi Gert!
First of all, I want to say how cool I think it is that you’re teaching your students “Count On Me”. That makes me smile from ear to ear 🙂
And yes, the Boxer picking pattern definitely works. I believe I played it a little differently on the Duo Session version than I did on the album track, but any of the typical folky pickings would work. Sometimes even I forget and change it up 😉 .
Happy picking and please say “hi” to your students from us!

Wow, thank you so much, Brian ♥
I think generally speaking, we’re both quite optimistic people, sometimes to a fault. But it is thanks to that and thanks to having each other, our family and to being generally really happy with what we’re doing in our lives, that we don’t get down too often, I think.
That being said, this is also the internet, and most of what we’re sharing about our lives are the positive and interesting things that are going on. Things that we feel others would enjoy seeing. And our music, of course.
But just like anybody else, we have our own battles, demons and faults and not everything is always “coming up roses” 😉 But then again, that’s just part of being a human being and just like anybody else, we’re trying to make it through this weird time as best as we can.
We’re lucky to have family and people around us that keep us grounded, that make us feel loved and appreciated, and we know just how lucky we are to have that, when many people don’t. The amazing community here helps a lot, too. Feeling like what we do matters really does help us get through the tougher bits in life. So thank you for being part of that ♥

Hi Jay,
Thanks for posting your first question! This is probably the question we get asked the most and as much as we’d love to give a definite answer, all we can really say at the moment is that we don’t have any travel plans at all.
We’d love to travel more again, especially to the States but touring in the current situation is anything but fun, unfortunately. So we’d rather focus on things in the studio and work on new videos for now.
One day we’ll be back!

Administrator02/03/2022 at 18:24 in reply to: 2 MonaLisa YouTube accounts + Your favoritesHi Claes,
Thanks for the question. The “MonaLisa Twins – Topic” channel is an auto-generated channel by YouTube that hosts all the album tracks that we offer for streaming that aren’t uploaded to our official YouTube channel.
So things like the album tracks of “ORANGE”.
Your question actually made me look into the possibility of merging the two channels which, as I just read, is doable. So maybe we’ll look into that to avoid any confusion.
You also asked about our 10 favourite songs. Like you said, that’s a tough one! If I actually had to write down a list, I would have to put a lot of time into it, really weighing all the options of which there are a LOT. Also it is simply impossible to accurately rank something as objective as music imo.
Sometimes I prefer this, sometimes that. But as you can imagine there would be a lot of Beatles songs on that list. Definitely “And Your Bird Can Sing” and “Because”, and Don McLeans “Vincent” would get a spot on that list as well for sure. There would have to be a Simon & Garfunkel song in there too.
Why pick favourites when you can love them all though 😉
Cheers,
Lisa

Hi Lynn,
Yes, we’re definitely planning on posting it to YouTube in the future! We are not entirely sure when though. We are putting together this year’s upcoming release plan in the weeks ahead but you won’t miss it! 🙂
I just scrolled through our Facebook archive for a good 10 minutes but I can’t seem to find out when we hit the 100K Follower mark. I am scratching my head, as I could have sworn we posted about it but maybe I am mixing it up with YouTube subscribers. I did find a post where we hit 30K back in 2016. So it must have happened somewhere between then and now ????
I’m sorry I can’t be of more help here.
Have a great day!

Thanks Will,
we’re glad you like the song! Unfortunately, we never made a score for “Still A Friend Of Mine”. None of us read music very well so there was never really any reason for us to score it. Maybe we’ll get someone to transcribe the piano parts one day so people can play along better.
Thanks for the input!

Hi Pascal,
I don’t think we’ve ever watched this show but after looking it up on Google just now, it does look familiar. I think I remember our parents telling us about the witch with the nose wiggle thing.
… Now I just watched a few clips on YouTube. It looks really cute but I think I’d have to practise that nose wiggle in front of the mirror for a bit for it not to look like I am having a seizure ????

Hi Detlef,
We did a Beatles Taxi tour when we first visited Liverpool as tourists back in 2009. We were in the middle of our Teenage-Beatlemania phase and were absolutely losing our minds. The idea of standing in the same spots that the Beatles once stood in almost was too much for our 15 year old hearts to handle, haha.
Ever since moving here, we’ve done these Beatles tours a lot, mainly when friends came to visit and we did them together. We’ve also been booked to play some acoustic Beatles versions as part of these tours, driving along in the Taxi and Magical Mystery Tour Bus, playing music at all the important Beatles locations.
So needless to say, we’re not getting crazy excited everytime we drive past Penny Lane anymore but it still makes us smile whenever we come past an important Beatles-related place. Mainly because we see all the tourists smiling and enjoying it as much as we did when we first came here. It’s beautiful.
