The Food! There really is a big difference (to us anyway) in simple things like bread, salads, cakes, the way they cook vegetables etc. Not that we think that there aren’t any tasty dishes here (after all, I am hooked on sticky toffee pudding ;-)) but we really don’t think it’s the most flavoursome or … should we say “refined” way of cooking 😉

Hahaa, that sounds absolutely perfect!! Porsche or not, I think that soundtrack would make just about any road trip better 😉

Whenever we go for a longer drive we grab a handful of albums from the CD shelf first, and on our little camping adventure last week we took along these to put on rotation:

    The Beatles – 1962-1966
    Peter Gabriel – So
Pink Martini and the Von Trapps – Dream a Little Dream
    Ben Howard – Every Kingdom
The Pretty Things – Greatest Hits

We’ve had all of these records for quite a few years but also decided that we needed to get some new CDs for the car. We love having our favourite music on something physical like CDs or vinyl.

Hi Tim, hats off for giving German a go. You certainly didn’t pick the easiest language to learn from scratch 😉
There isn’t much of an internal “translation” going on when we speak either language, I would say. At least I am not conscious of that extra “step”. We still mainly “think” German but when we’re around and talking to people in English, especially for a longer period of time, our “internal” voice also switches to English.

    Hi Pascal,

I think we’ve only ever changed the gender of a song once or twice quite early on (I can only think of “Please, Please Me” right now) but have soon stopped doing that.

How we think about it now is that it’s best to keep the lyrics as they were intended by whoever wrote them. It usually throws us off and distracts from the music when we hear others change the lyrics of a song just to fit the gender of the singer so we have stopped doing it ourselves. I am sure there are examples when it works well but in most cases it’s an unnecessary change in our opinion. 🙂

The hardest originals to get right live are probably “I Wanna Kiss You” and “Nothing Is In Vain”, both off our debut album. Especially “I Wanna Kiss You” might come as a surprise but they are both quite tricky to get across on stage.

As for covers, things like Drive My Car or Day Tripper took a bit longer to practise. Playing a different guitar riff to the melody you’re singing ties your brain into a knot at first, but once the muscle memory takes over it gets easier 🙂

    Hi Tim,

Please forgive us for our very late reply, we completely overlooked your message and the time and I only just found it buried in the forum.

So a belated “Welcome” and “Thank you” from both of us, we appreciate that you’re here and hope you have been enjoying your time in the MLT Club so far.

We love the Chuck Berry story and it seems like you’ve done quite a lot of travelling over the years! 🙂

Groovy greetings to Lindsay from both of us!

    Hi Alexandre,

Welcome to the MLT Club and thank you for saying “hi”! Your English is great!
We’re glad to hear that “Starman” introduced you to our music and appreciate the kind words about ORANGE. We are currently working on the next original album 🙂

Lots of peace & love to France and thanks for being here,
    Mona & Lisa

    Hi Tim,

We have, you can find it here: https://test4.monalisa-twins.com/art-by-us/
(You can get to it through the Photo Archive overview page)

We haven’t updated in quite a while and most of the drawings and paintings are many years old but when we get the chance we’ll upload some more recent art! 🙂

We have never considered selling any of it (although we did do a giveaway of 3 paintings recently) and would only do so if we had enough time to create some substantial pieces. Maybe it’s something to think about in the future!

    Thanks for the question!

We usually always write and record simultaneously, so we don’t first compose all the songs and then record them in one go, which makes it hard to answer that question. So far we have released 10 albums over 14 years so on average that’s 16.8 month per album, 😉

Only two of those albums were originals though, which always take us significantly longer to finish. We are busy with our next original album right now which has been in the works on/off for several years now. If we were to solely work on an original album and nothing else we could probably get it done in a few months but that’s never how life works and we always have so many projects going on at the same time!

I don’t think that’s a bad thing though because the life experiences in between our original releases always influence our songwriting 🙂

23/08/2021 at 22:29 in reply to: Pete Townshend

    Hi Diana,

The story basically started with an Instagram comment Pete had left under one of our posts. To think that Pete Townshend still browses the internet for artists he likes and leaves encouraging messages on their profiles warms our hearts so much, and we hope he knows how much that means to us.

Since then we have stayed in loose contact and wrote back and forth a few times, and we have told him about some of our connections to him and his music. He is a fascinating musician, writer and person, and we hope to meet up one day!

Also thanks for the congratulations on our marathon. We know you posted this message a while ago and we apologise for only getting around to it now. We didn’t end up getting a T-shirt for the event but we’ve got the vlog as a memory now, which is much better anyway. 😉

    Peace & Love to you!

    Hi Bill & Maddie,

We do have all four seasons here in the UK, sometimes all in one day 🙂 But generally speaking, they are much less pronounced than back in Austria or maybe Pittsburgh. Here we get hardly any snow in the winter, and everyone is getting excited over 22°C (72°F) in the summer, haha!

The autumns/falls here are gorgeous though and we love the changing colours of the leaves. None of that is happening yet, thank god, and autumn is still a little bit away, but if we take a hiking trip in a few months and don’t forget, we’ll share some photos!

Pennsylvania must be beautiful at that time of the year too, with all the woods and green hills of the state! It’s great to be able to live somewhere that you truly enjoy, and we send all the best across the pond to you two!

Monas left shoulder was often covered in bruises from me accidentally hitting her with my headstock ???? So it was more of a question if there ever was a gig where i didn’t hit her.

I just had to promise her not to leave any loose guitar strings sticking out of the tuners so I wouldn’t also poke her eye out!

Thanks, we’re glad you are enjoying the CDs!

I can’t see ourselves recording another full Christmas album anytime soon but we’ll probably keep up the tradition of releasing a video for Christmas. 🙂

We really want to focus more on our original music and some other projects in the foreseeable future. There are so many more things we would like to explore creatively so we have to prioritise some projects over others … We wish there were more hours in a day! 🙂

That’s a great idea and something we could definitely do for a future contest 🙂 We’ll keep it in mind!

Thanks for sharing the pictures and of course for wearing your MLT hat to the event. That makes us so happy!

We hope you had a great time at the Megacon and send all the best to Orlando!
