I’m sorry to hear you had to stop your job as a sound technician but we appreciate it very much to have you here in our crowd and hope you’ll enjoy the MLT Club.

The “correct” pronunciation would be VAHG-ner and I try to stick to that when we meet new people. However, when the postman wakes me up early in the morning to deliver a parcel and asks for my name I’ve found myself saying it the English way more often than not. It’s easier and people understand it quicker (and I get back to bed again quicker). 😉

Administrator02/11/2018 at 22:55 in reply to: Epiphone J160e John Lennon signature model.Hi Daniel!
The pickup that comes with the J160e is a magnetic pickup – the kind that you usually find in electric guitars. It’s very unusual for acoustic guitars to have that sort of pickup as it has a very specific sound and needs e-guitar strings. The original intro of “I Feel Fine” is played with that sound!
It’s great for those specific things but the tone overall isn’t very versatile, not very “acousticy” and very much prone to feedback, which is a nightmare when playing live – you can also hear that feedback at the very start of “I Feel Fine”. 😉
So we installed an L.R. Baggs M1 pickup instead (not in addition) which is one of the most natural sounding and reliable acoustic pickups out right now. I’m quite happy with the current setup and sound of that guitar. It’s a bit battered from countless live shows but I love it 🙂

Thanks for your suggestion Steve and I’m glad you enjoyed the interview!
Doing something in an acoustic setting like that is definitely something we’ve considered in the past and we’re always interested in hearing feedback like yours. At the moment our list of projects is about a mile long and we just work our way through the many ideas we have. The item “acoustic show” just got bumped up a few positions but I can’t promise it will happen or at least anytime soon. We have a lot brewing but always appreciate additional input 🙂

Good day, Ron and welcome to the treatment centre, thanks for checking in. Our classes are based on month-long procedures that include regular doses of exclusive music, question & answer sessions with your hosts Lisa and me as well as visual content in the form of past musical adventures of your source of addiction and much more.
Here at the treatment centre we believe that all of that and the amplified exposure to music and like-minded people will have a positive effect on your life and hopefully bring a smile or two to your face. So far, no studies have shown that it will cure your addiction so be assured that you are safe and secure here.
Thanks for checking in, we hope you’ll have a pleasant stay.
Namaste,
Mona -
Michaela plays the sax and similar woodwind instruments where the sound is produced by vibration of a wooden reed.
A trumpet and a horn, however, need completely different fingering and the sound is produced by vibration of the lips. So the trumpet and horn were played by dad on the keyboard, with the help of a breath controller. That is a little gadget that simulates the mouthpiece of a wind instrument and is connected via cable to the keyboard.
We have a large section of instruments covered between the four of us but occasionally we use techniques like that 🙂

Hi there, George! A warm welcome from all of us here and thanks for the really kind words!
The Drive My Car seems to have been popping up in lots of people’s recommended videos, that’s awesome! We’re actually working on a little project in relation to that song right now – it will show up in the MLT Club soon 🙂
That’s great that you got to see so many shows over the years. Which ones are the ones you’re going to next month?
I also love that vinyl is making a comeback in our generation. We dug out dad’s old one a few years ago and have been building up a little collection too … slowly but surely!
Anyway, lovely to have you here and we hope you’ll enjoy your time in the Club 🙂

Weirdly I’ve never realised that the Guess Who had played that song too (only knew the Johnny Kidd & The Pirates version) but I’m listening right now and love it – what a great, great band!
It would definitely be a really fun one to try one day, especially live. Let me add it to the ever growing list of great song suggestions 🙂 Thanks!

I want to add my “Hello” too, also in Lisa’s name. What a great age to be when the Beatles were taking over the world, we can’t help but feel a little jealous 😉 Thank you very much for joining us and we hope you’ll like it here!
-
And we are very glad you’re here too, thank you so much for joining! Pacific Northwest – that’s some beautiful scenery and woodlands there! Hopefully we get to visit (and play!) there one day.
For now, greetings back from Liverpool!

Administrator25/10/2018 at 19:21 in reply to: If you could conjure up a dream allstar concert of a who’s -who (alive/dead)I took your question a bit further and quickly made up my imaginary dream festival. I’d wanna jam with ALL of them! 😉 I created a template so you can all make your own (maybe start a thread in the General Discussion Tab?). You can download it here.
Feel free to share wherever you want!
For mine, I stuck to a 60’s/ early 70’s theme here and I still would need at least 10 more slots to fit in all my favourites but this will do for now 🙂 Obviously time travel would be necessary for most of them but a girl can dream, hey?

Looking forward to seeing your dream festivals!Empty Template:

Hi Jean-marc and welcome!
Thanks for your introduction – I understood everything totally fine. I am glad you found us (and Amy!) on YouTube and that you love the 60’s music as much as we do.
We hope to visit continental France one day, so far we have only seen its highways! But we have been to Corsica once as children and LOVED it.
Thanks for being here! -
That sounds great! I hadn’t heard much of Grand Funk Railroad before (except the obvious hits) I have to admit, and I did some catching up last week. I think they were one of those massive US bands that didn’t have the same kind of following here in Europe, at least from my Austrian/UK perspective (After all… they were an American band 😉 ). Glad to hear they’re still putting on great shows!
The Temptations & The Four Tops, now that’s a cool double bill.
Hope you’ll have fun there!
