YES, cold fingers while playing guitar (or any instrument, really) are the worst! The best way to avoid it is to hold your hands under warm water for a good few minutes, then dry them really well and then keep them in your pockets for as long as possible. It doesn’t always work, and especially in video shoots like “The Wide, Wide Land” we had to accept having icicles for fingers, but we always try to make it work somehow.

Luckily we’ve had a bit more luck with recent video shoots but you’re right, we have frozen a lot in the name of art ????

    Hi Michael,
I edited that part together. There was no way I was gonna leave in the entirety of Lisa’s 5-minute ramble so I had to take drastic measures 😉

    Hi Alexandre,

As you know, we love the Beatles and their music has played an incredibly important part in our own journey. By covering their music, we have not only been able to learn a lot as musicians and songwriters, but also could reach a like-minded audience and later on play our own music to them. We truly owe them a lot ♥

So I feel like we will always continue to cover more songs by them from time to time, even if we focus more on our own original music. It is too much fun not to 😉

Their later work is more suitable for studio projects (rather than Duo Session) so we might tackle some of their late-60s songs for a future “MLT play Beatles & more” volume.

We have uploaded a very early cover of “Strawberry Fields” we did when we were 15 here.

Thanks for the question and stay beatley!

    Hi Leif,

These new taxes are incredibly annoying, and we are sorry in case these costs were unexpected for you. It all came with the EU putting new regulations in place for all orders from outside the union, which since Brexit now also includes the UK.

These past few months we have spent a lot of time researching and considering new distribution alternatives for international orders. We have been able to make some changes and bring the shipping prices down but we can’t do anything about the import VAT for orders from outside the EU, unfortunately.

Thanks for buying the albums, we hope you are enjoying the music!

    Stay groovy!

    Hi Dee!

I just dug out the chords and the video of the song and played it for the first time in years – thanks for prompting me to do that! It’s such a great tune 🙂

Yes, I also play it with the capo on the 4th fret, in the key of E – played as if it was in C.

    Ohhh, but it’s magic,

    Mona

    Hi Bill & Maddie,

Yes, we’ve been to Hyde Park several times and even busked there back in 2013. We also saw the Beach Boys there that year, it was great!

It’s a beautiful green space and almost makes you forget that you are in the heart of one of the largest cities of the world. 🙂

There are some photos of us walking through the park in this photo post: https://test4.monalisa-twins.com/london-2013/

They put on a lot of events there all the time, and I hope you and Maddie get to visit Hyde Park one day!

    Hi Tim,

That’s amazing to hear, thanks for sharing that with us! We hope you’re enjoying your hikes 🙂

For us what’s next is to record more original music for the upcoming album. That’s priority #1 right now and consumes most of our days. We are loving it and have gotten into quite a good rhythm lately, so we’re trying to avoid any other projects and distractions at the moment as best as we can.

If we’re talking sport-adventure type things then we’re doing a half marathon in a couple of weeks and some smaller races throughout the rest of the year but we’re dialing that back a bit to leave more time in the studio. It’s all about the right balance 😉

The remainder of the month will be exciting and with no shortage of work so we’re staying busy!

    Groovy greeting to Pennsylvania!

    Hi Diana,

What a sweet story and I am sure a treasured memory for your parents. And how cool that they were just on a dance floor with everyone else! … although I can’t imagine the sound being very good that way. 😉

We would have loved to see them live in later years but I don’t think they performed much in Europe throughout the 2010’s. It’s sad that they are both gone now, but all of us will keep their music alive and their songs will live on, there is no doubt about that.

Thanks for sharing that with us and the kind words!

What do you mean, of course she got it right the first time! 😉

(We will be probably cutting together a behind-the-scenes video soon, and I think we have about an hours’ worth of footage of Lisa kicking that damn ball so you’ll see then!)

    Have a great day!

    Hi Denny!

Yes, that’s me on the 3 early-access songs and I will also be playing the drums on the rest of the album. It’s been fun to be behind the kit much more again this past year, and I think we’ve come up with some interesting grooves 🙂

    New music coming soon!

    Hi Jacki!

Oh, the possibilities are endless! Both our drum teachers growing up loved doing “Stomp” inspired ensemble pieces with us and over the years we have done performances with brooms, cookie jars, cooking knives and wooden spoons, newspapers and rubbish bins. It was always so much fun and we’ve carried over that tradition into the recording studio quite a lot of times as you pointed out. 🙂

One of our new songs that will be on the upcoming album will include air bubbles being blown into water – we just did some recordings for that last week. That’s an unexpectedly cool sound!

Who knows what else we will come up with before the record is finished but so far that’s probably the most “off the wall” sound we’ve caught on tape 🙂

23/08/2021 at 22:32 in reply to: Acoustic guitar make and model?

    Hi Kenneth,
Thanks for joining the MLT Club, we warmly welcome you!

The acoustic guitar I played at the Cavern Club and Lisa in the “Here Comes The Sun” video is a custom Jumbo Martin guitar with a COSM pick up. I absolutely love it and have used it for so many different projects now.

I think the Epiphone is perfect for its price and is a true workhorse that I always have lying around the house somewhere 🙂

In this Q&A video we talk quite a lot about our favourite acoustic guitars including the EJ200 and the Martin so perhaps you’d like to check it out. We also go into our favourite strings and what gauge we use.

Thanks for being here, I hope you’re having a nice week!
