Wow! Thanks, Howard! I had no idea that they had initially recorded it for ‘Please Please Me’. Considering they completed the entire album in 13 hours, it’s a wonder that they managed to squeeze in so many takes for a song that didn’t even end up on it.

Haha! Thank you so much, Howard! Right back at ya 🙂

I did have a listen to ‘Hold Me Tight’ and I *think* I know where he sings flat, but I’ll let your trained ears answer that 😛 Your brother and his partner are in for a real treat! I bet they’ll be in the MLT Club soon too. My 4-year old nephew already loves Mona and Lisa and every single time he sees anything Orange, he starts talking about them! It’s hilarious.

    Hi Michael!

So happy to see you here! Thank you for the incredibly warm welcome! For someone as decidedly old school as me, your message sure made me feel a lot cooler. I sure wish I was half as cool as you make me sound.

I’m definitely working on recruiting more MLT fans over here. So far, a lot of people are really curious. I’ve successfully gotten about five of my friends and my entire family hooked on their music, so that’s a start! Only about a hundred million more to go 😛

The MLT Club is AWESOME indeed! Absolutely loving it. It’s such a labour of love and we’ve really got to hand it to Michaela, Rudi, Mona and Lisa for the incredible amount of work they’ve put in to make it as awesome as it is.

“The Princess Bride” is one of my all-time favorite movies! I’ve probably seen it at least 4-5 times. What a classic! Mona and Lisa DEFINITELY need to watch that, if they haven’t already. As for “A Beautiful Mind”, it’s such a heartbreaking, brilliant movie. It’s amazing that you watched it twice on the big screen!

    Hi,

    Found another one here: https://test4.monalisa-twins.com/mlt-club-home/

“Download lyrics and chords booklets ouf our songs”

And one with a word missing: https://test4.monalisa-twins.com/mlt-club-info/

“…this is what we have already put together to this new adventure off the ground”

    should be:

“…this is what we have already put together to get this new adventure off the ground”

Hahahah! Who woulda thunk it? You two should totally think about composing an original with just the nose flute as an accompaniment LOL.

    Hi Steve!

Glad to have you here. Really hope The Zombies get through this year! The Hall of Fame will have absolutely no credibility until they get in.

Great question, Jacki! Would love to hear more Mamas and Papas stuff from them too. Blondie is an inspired choice. That would sound so much fun!

I can’t wait to hear their versions of ‘The White Room’ and ‘The Night Before’ in particular! So many great new cover choices on their new albums. I’d LOVE to hear them do ‘And Your Bird Can Sing’ or ‘Rain’ as well. I think both would make for fantastic videos too.

Of course, MLT have gone out of their way to please fans and cover as many ’60s tracks as possible, so it makes sense for them to take a break from that for as long as they want.

However, this being a completely hypothetical question, I think Mona and Lisa would sound brilliant covering ‘This Will Be Our Year’ by The Zombies, ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale’ by Procol Harum, ‘You’re No Good’ by The Swingin’ Blue Jeans, ‘You Keep Me Hangin’ On’ by ‘The Supremes’, ‘Hair’ by Zen, ‘Blackberry Way’ by The Move, ‘Dancing In The Street’, ‘Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow’ and SO MANY MORE!

I think they’d also sound brilliant putting their own spin on more contemporary-sounding songs too.

Thanks for all the amazing recommendations, guys! “Across the Universe” is one of my absolute favorite movies of all time. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve watched it. It played such an instrumental role in turning me into a full-blown Beatlemaniac, and oddly enough, it turned me on to some of the more obscure Beatles songs which I hadn’t heard back then. ‘Hold Me Tight’ for instance, was one of those songs where I heard the cover before the original. I’ve been itching to watch “Searching for Sugar Man” so will definitely give it a shot.

Mona, that is SO cool that you like “The Mists of Avalon”. It’s been years since I last read that but now that you’ve reminded me, I’ll pick it up again 🙂 I just finished reading this book called “Birds Without Wings” by Louis de Bernieres that you might enjoy too. As for recommending just one movie for you to watch, how about a classic like “Singin in the Rain” in case you haven’t already seen it? If you’re an Audrey Hepburn fan, I bet you’d really enjoy “Roman Holiday”, “Sabrina” and “Two for the Road” too.

Howard, “A Sultan in Palermo” sounds fantastic! Definitely picking this up ASAP. Jung, “Begin Again” is a fun movie! I loved watching that. Who knew Keira Knightley had such a lovely voice? “Bend It Like Beckham” used to play on loop at home back when I was a kid! I LOVE that movie. Pretty much know every single line by heart 🙂

Badfinger’s story is one of the most devastating and heartbreaking ones in rock history. It’s so tragic how bad management destroyed what could have been one of the greatest bands of the 70s. They had so many great songs. Day After Day, Baby Blue, No Matter What, Without You, Name of the Game, Maybe Tomorrow! All so memorable!

Lisa absolutely RIPS on guitar. She’s definitely capable of playing more styles than George could and her versatility knows no bounds. Mona and Lisa are both fantastic, technically proficient guitarists. That being said, The Beatles, particularly George and Ringo, weren’t exactly known for their technical chops. Their brilliance lay in their ability to come up with wonderfully melodic instrumental breaks and solos that complemented and elevated the entire song, ones that all of us could hum along to and remember forever.

Let’s also not forget that none of The Beatles ever had any kind of formal musical training. Not to mention that George and Ringo hardly ever had enough time to add their own inputs to John and Paul’s compositions. In the early days, John and Paul would spend about a week or so working on a song, and would play it to George and Ringo only a few hours before recording it. Put that into perspective and George’s contributions seem like absolute genius!

    Welcome aboard, Ademir

I think you’ll find that this place is a great respite from the depressing political situations all over the world. Music truly brings the world together, and when it’s MLT’s music, it does so with a joy and exuberance that is unrivalled! What’s your favorite MLT song?

    Hello, Howard and Tim!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome and the lovely recommendations! I absolutely LOVE Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. Have watched it over five times! I also love the parallels between Paul Newman and Robert Redford, and Mona and Lisa, Tim! Would never have thought of that but that’s spot on. Another classic movie that I think Mona and Lisa might relate to is The Young Girls of Rochefort, with Catherine Deneuve and her real-life sister Francoise Dorleac in it.

I will definitely check out Look Homeward, Angel. That description sounds exactly like something I’d love to read. Thomas Wolfe is an author that I’ve heard so much about and have been dying to read for the longest time.

As for picking a classic movie that I love, I never tire of watching movies like Sunset Blvd., Roman Holiday, Bringing Up Baby, Rebecca etc. Pretty much all of Alfred Hitchcock and Billy Wilder’s films too.

    Hi,

I’ve been on the lookout for typos throughout the site and could barely find any 🙂 So I thought it made sense to post whatever I found on here instead of creating a new thread just to post a few typos.

    Here’s one from this link: https://test4.monalisa-twins.com/ june-behind-the-scenes/

“…in Austria and endet up adding the final touches in the UK!”

    And another one: https://test4.monalisa-twins.com/london-showcase-behind-the-scenes/

“…sore throat (the ever hauting performer curse!)”
