    Jung,
Bernstein serioulsy needs to look at that DW program about Beethoven’s modern influence.
    Too bad about the anachronysm.

Guys, don’t forget about Brian Wilson.
Our Beethoven, hearing difficulties and all.

I finally found their live version from that live CD/DVD from 2004.
Ritchie & George Grantham before his stroke.

    Thanks Michael,

Spellbound, Ghost Town, Thunder Road, Crazy Love, Rose of Cimarron, and so many more.
Of course Furay wrote Good Feeling to Know, but i saw a few really nice live versions after Furay over the years.

Here is their induction into the Colorado Music HOF in 2009.

    Bill,
you may not have time to garden – but you have a beautiful flower to nurture for a while.

    No hands.
This might be my favorite harmonica song.

    Great choices Jung!

What do you think of from Birds to One-upon-a-time from their own catalog ?

    Jacki –
    Looks good so far.
But we need to see how they wear.

Maybe wait for a pretty day and go outside.
    Cheers

    Well Jung,
you’re the one (i think) who started the discussion about liking a cover better than the original.
I never knew Otis R. wrote Respect. I always thought Aretha owned it.

But – thanks to Joseph Manzi – here is the great man on his own !
Let us know what you think.

    P.S.
There is also a Monterey Pop version!

I just want everyone to know that Cruisin, & My Girl were on my Motown list for North American Classics.

Both written by Mr. Robinson – the one man miracle.

Smokey R. was the best writer in Motown in my humble opinion.

Huey Lewis & Gwyneth Paltrow with a great harmony version.

Lord – am i late to this thread.

    1) Lily, Rosemary & the Jack of Hearts
    2) Black Diamond Bay

    Good singing for Dylan.
    Complicated stories with multiple sub-plots.

“The hangin’ judge came in unnoticed and was being wined and dined
The drillin’ in the wall kept up but no one seemed to pay it any mind.
It was known all around that Lily had Jim’s ring
And nothing would ever come between Lily and the king.
No, nothin’ ever would – except maybe the Jack of Hearts.”

“As the island slowly sank the loser finally broke the bank in the gambling room …
The dealer says it’s too late now you can take your money but i don’t know how
you’ll spend it in the tomb.

I never did plan to go anyway to Black Diamond Bay

    Roger Penn,
i am glad you liked the author’s version of The Garden Song.
    I don’t watch much television.
I only recently discovered American Music Shop.
They had some great musical shows for a few years in the 90s.

Well friends – it seems like this gardening thread is growing like a weed.
It just goes to show much fertile ground there is in the MLTC.
