Well I’m sure with the passing of Halloween this forum thread will come to a quick end but it’s been fun and maybe we can add to it next year. I know there is a lot more great spooky, eerie songs we haven’t recovered yet. Here’s a final one from me from my favorite band of all time (sorry Beatles fans), but the Twins are giving them a run for their money and actually have recorded more albums. But I have listened to CCR for 50+ years on vinyl, 8 track, cassette and cd and never get tired of their music. This is a great live video from their 1970 performance at Royal Albert Hall that got turned into their only live album.

Here’s another detective show where the theme song got turned into a hit record. The Rockford Files starring James Garner.

Great topic Jacki, I’ll share some of my favorites. This one was made into a hit record that got a lot of air play in the States. My brother’s band use to play it at their gigs. One of my favorite detective shows called Simon and Simon.

Chris, I used to roadie for my brother’s band quite a bit and they played in a lot clubs and bars like that around Wisconsin. I got a lot of stories I could tell. A lot of country western bars and biker bars too. There was a bar in Wyeville WI that was notorious for the barfights, usually women fighting. My brother Denny would stop playing and act as play by play commentator, Lol.

I don’t remember that one at all. I remember some of the actors but not the show. Didn’t Joanie and Chachi have their own show?. Also, Laverne and Shirley was a spin off and maybe Mork and Mindy?
Of course Happy Days was a spin off of the movie American Graffiti starring Ron Howard and Cindy Williams (Richie and Shirley).
Here’s Happy Days original theme for the first couple seasons.

Jurgen, Did you ever watch Baywatch, I’ve heard it was quite popular in Germany. I actually only watched the first few seasons because later I took a second shift job. And who was your guys favorite Baywatch Babe, Lol, be honest. I thought Yazmine Bleeth was the prettiest but I’ve always been a sucker for brunettes. But I also loved Brooke Burns later, I had dreams about her, Haha.

That’s a classic Jung, it’s still on one of the classic TV stations I get. Ted and Georgette were the funniest ones on there. Betty White was pretty funny too.

I don’t remember the show but Secret Agent Man was great. I forgot how much I liked Johnny Rivers. He got a lot of slack for doing so many covers, especially Chuck Berry tunes but I thought he did a great job with them.

I don’t remember Angie at all, I do remember WKRP in Cincinnati was a good comedy and the theme song got some airplay. I thought the closing theme was better but it meant the show was over.

Jurgen, yeah I remember all those shows. Seems like every night there was a different detective show on. Miami Vice had some great music and some great scenery. I still watch a few on METV like Mannix, Cannon and Magnum P.I.

Man I love this bluesy stuff, John Belushi sure was a talented guy. I like the scene where they played the gig at the country bar and played Stand By Your Man and the Rawhide theme, Lol. This one reminded me of another good movie with a great sound track that really launched the career of Jeff Healey, another great one gone to soon.

Daryl, I’m not a guitar guy at all and really don’t know much about them but I grew up with a few guitar playing brothers and can identify a lot of the popular brands and some models. I have a couple cheap acoustic guitars, a Yamaha and Oscar Schmidt and an old cheap Kay electric 6 string I mess around with. I do like listening to the pros talk about their guitars and different gear and how they use them. I would love to see Lisa and Mona do a rundown on all the beautiful guitars and other instruments they have and why they use them for certain songs.

Jurgen, My introduction to James Bond was Live and Let Die. I remember seeing it at our local drive in movie theatre which was only about one half mile away from our house if you took the trail through the woods and around the swamp. I’ve like the Bond movies ever since. It was a great movie with a great soundtrack and of course the title track written and performed by Paul McCartney.
