I don’t care for a lot of music from the 90’s but I’ve always like this song which is a good addition for this forum thread because sometimes the worst demons are the ones inside of you. They are the hardest to deal with and sometimes cannot be defeated.

Not exactly a Halloween movie but I loved the special effects and Jim Carey’s performance in The Mask. Very funny movie if you haven’t seen it. I believe it was the first film featuring Cameron Diaz. This is the scene where Jim first discovers the power of the mask.

This is a funny little clip from the movie Slade In Flame. Singer Noddy Holder performs on stage singing from inside a coffin only to find out he has been locked inside. Noddy said it was inspired by a true story.

Hi Jung, I follow a BC family on their YouTube channel called Gridlessness. For the last 10 years they’ve been building an off grid homestead and raising 5 daughters near Prince George. I love watching their videos of living in the mountains, it looks like a very beautiful area. Some of the music they use for their videos is done by a local northern BC band called Last Horse Standing that play alternative country music and have produced a couple albums. I will submit this music video as a gem for this thread. Here is B.C. by Last Horse Standing.

Hi Jacki, I think this is the Bugs Bunny one you were thinking about with the vampire.

I’ll have to look those up. The Abbott and Costello one sounds familiar but I don’t recall the other. We still have 11 days until Halloween so I’m sure I will find a lot more to post. I’m going to look for a couple of the cartoon ones I remember if I can find them on YouTube. Do Canadians celebrate Halloween like we do in the States. In my area in Wisconsin it is generally trick or treating for the kids in the afternoon. Maybe a few house parties for kids too. Our high school put on a haunted house to raise money for school programs. They put on a mild version for kids and a scarier version for adults. They do a real good job, they have scared me before, I haven’t went for a few years. A few of the clubs have bands or DJs and have costume parties. I and my wife used to do them every year. At midnight they would pick winners and then most people revealed themselves. It was a lot of fun but I haven’t done it since she passed away in 2014.

Thanks Jacki, I was just reading Catherine O’hara bio on Wikipedia. I do remember her on quite a few movies and TV shows. I used to love the SCTV with John Candy and Martin Short. There were a bunch of great comedic actors that got their start there. I love all the old cartoons too. The writers and producers were so creative back in the day. The roadrunner and coyote were my favorites I think, and Sylvester and Tweety but they were all funny. I still like watching them on Boomerang. I will try to add you as a connection if I can figure out how to do that, thank you.

Hi Jacki, I was going to google Catherine O’hara to see if she was related to Maureen O’hara. Maureen was the redhead that played in some of John Wayne’s movies. She was his wife in McClintock and Big Jake and probably some others.

I can’t understand German but I could follow along fairly well with the lyrics you posted. The band was sure having fun and playing really well, very enjoyable, thanks.

Jurgen, That is really funny. I remember Beetlejuice but haven’t seen it for years. I didn’t remember that Dick Cavett was in that movie and Catherine O’hara has to be the daughter of Maureen O’hara, maybe I’m wrong but she looks just like her with the identical shade of red hair and green eyes. I might have to research that. Really good performance by her and the other actors.

Jung, I think Jump Ship is my favorite song on Why? I really do love all the songs for different reasons and at different times depending on my mood. Jump Ship immediately grabbed my attention on the first listen. I tend to be attracted to the sounds, melodies, the groove and beat of a record more so than the lyrics and Jump Ship just sets a wonderful mood with the slide guitar on the chorus like I am actually floating on a ship at sea. When those amazing harmonies gel with that slide it feels Heavenly, like floating on a cloud or gently floating underwater. Very, very cool, one of the best songs I’ve heard in a long time.

Jurgen, You are right, Michael wasn’t everyone’s taste in music and as one comedian said (I don’t remember who it was) I used to like Michael when he was a young black singer. He does certainly deserve his spot as one of the greatest pop singers of all time and he did have a taste for the strange, dark side of life. I have heard at one time he was trying to buy the skeletal remains of the elephant man Joseph Merrick. Michael definitely fits in with the Monsters of music.

Jurgen, Even the Beatles got into costume on occasion. This one could also go on the favorite Beatles song forum as I’ve always loved this song for it’s quirky lyrics, “Yellow mattered custard dripping from a dead dog’s eye”, yeah those are some good lyrics.

I like that Jung, The cello is the perfect instrument to set the mood in a horror film. Wednesday Addams reminds me of Sweet Lorraine. A pretty little girl that you do not want to upset. Here’s a cute one from the original Wednesday teaching Lurch how to dance.

Jung, I posted this before I seen you had posted the same clip earlier oops, but it is pretty funny and one can never get enough of Wednesday even on a Friday.
