Hey John,
Just wanted to mention that I love McCartney’s new CD as well. I have tickets to see him in Raleigh, NC on May 27. If you’re going to learn, why not learn from the best?

Trying to pick a favorite is more for the fun than any real competition. Please, if this in any way seems controversial or causes trouble- delete the post immediately. As you said, there is a unity between them that is so ideal.
I do think it’s a good thing to make some separations. Although they are both so essential to making their sound so wonderful, they both are whole individuals and should also be appreciated for their own unique contributions.

I’ve experienced the same thing with the Live Album. I’m not sure why those songs aren’t available on video but I’m so pleased we have the audio. Like you, I was fascinated by the info that Mona shared about the DVD and the extra costs to release it
There are some really neat things on that first album. Lisa does most of the singing and although her voice is precious, she sounds like a teenage girl on many of the cuts. Their accent is much heavier on this album than anyplace else. I happen to love their accent but from a pure musical point- there’s an incredible step up on the California Dreaming songs.
Don’t get me wrong- I love this concert and am blown away by the recording quality- Rudolf is a wizard! For 2 13 year olds, doing their first concert- well, these girls are the MonaLisa Twins!Der Kommissar is an amazing recording and I hope a video of that will surface. Well, I know I didn’t answer your question but I still enjoyed talking with you.

I don’t mean any disrespect when picking least favorite songs. I’ve noticed that a number of fans love Sweet Lorraine and Lisa mentioned being especially proud of the lyrics- it doesn’t quite connect for me (yet). My least favorite Beatles songs are probably Wild Honey Pie, Maxwell’s Silver Hammer and All Together Now.
But i really like the twins version of Maxwell- so go figure. -
I agree completely, Mike. This site
Rocks! -
I agree with every word you’ve written. Mona and Lisa, through their videos and now this awesome Club have provided so much access as they continue to make it clear that they are the voice of their generation.

Thanks Lisa, that was so helpful!
Would I have gotten everything right? I am getting there. It took me many years to differentiate between John and Paul (though I was only 15 when I could separate them almost perfectly). Having seen all the videos to When We’re Together and Beatles and More- I was able to follow who sang what from the videos. Since there were many fewer videos for Orange, I was left guessing and am pleased to
I’ve noticed that Mona seems to sing a lot of rockers- Revolution, Twist and Shout, The Last Time, Club 27- but she also does a terrific job with the lead vocals on When I’m 64 and Maxwell’s Silver Hammer, a couple of much milder songs. And you do lead on most of the really beautiful ballads such as Still a Friend of Mine and God Only Knows but then knock it out of the park on Mercedes Benz so it’s not possible to separate by style of song.
By the way, as a father myself- it is wonderful to hear you talk about your relationship with your dad and your family. You girls are special on so many levels and I think all of us here on this forum are aware of that.
