Thanks Steve- just finished listening and all I can say is WOW!! My appetite is now officially wet.

Hey Steve,
On my Amazon, the 30 second samples you spoke of weren’t available but there was a 99 cent version of White Room for sale. It’s amazing!! No spoiler’s here other than to say Lisa really modernizes the guitar solo and pulls it off beautifully while Mona’s drumming is off the charts.

Jacki,
Another excellent job!
keep ’em coming!!

Howard,
Nobody loves The Beatles more than I do and nobody loves Revolver more than I do but I’m more than happy with the Beatles and More projects. This takes advantage of their ability to do wonderful covers of extraordinary songs and it allows them to choose songs based on what they like and what they think they can do especially well.
I am totally opposed to them taking the time to do remakes of an entire album- I would much rather see them take the time to write and record the successor to Orange. The Beatles are the greatest musical phenomenon since Beethoven. No matter how much Richard Wagner admired Beethoven, to make his own musical mark required that he go his own way. If we believe Mona and Lisa Wagner are as talented as we say- let’s encourage them to write their own music, to make their own great records, to take their own huge chances, to have their own occasional flops so that when they call it a career, they can have their own place in musical history. Also, with how well they make records from their personal studio, why in the world do they need to record at Abbey Road? I think we need to be careful to give the Twins all the room they need to be themselves and not just a band that does incredible covers of the Beatles.
But you know, my friend- as different as our opinions are on this- as you have said so eloquently, the Wagner’s know far better than we do and will make the decisions that are right for them.

Howard,
Paul didn’t have any problems with most of their catalog continuing to go under Lennon/McCartney. He just felt that on some of the more personal songs that he had written entirely or with minimal help from John, McCartney/Lennon would be more fair and accurate.
He mentioned Yesterday and Hey Jude in particular as songs he wanted the order reversed and as you mentioned he went to Yoko and asked permission. It wasn’t given.
I’ve read that the order is actually reversed on the 1976 Wings Across America album but I don’t have a copy to verify. It was definitely reversed on the Please Please Me album and just as it stuck in Paul’s crawl for something he sweated over for John to be given first billing, John felt the same way and spoke to Brian who called a meeting for it to be changed. Paul reluctantly agreed but thought very little about it until the partnership ended.
I don’t know if you knew that Dick James suggested the co-writing partnership and that it was done because of British tax laws where partners were taxed at a much lower rate than single writers, at least at that time.

Sorry to be confusing, Jacki. I actually meant to mention I had listened through the YouTube videos but I called away on another task and didn’t get that put in. Thanks Rich, you got it perfect!

I don’t really get that video but that one moment tickles me. I love the whole vibe of the Listen Now video There are lots of parts that make me feel young and wonderful.

Great writing, Steve!
Hey, I mentioned this to Jacki earlier so I’ll mention it to you as well:
You can publish everything you’ve written free of charge via Kindle Direct Publishing
I published a book in 2017 and it worked out very well for me. You send your manuscript to them via their website digitally, upload the cover you want to use and they print your book as it’s purchased. They send it to the customer and it’s all done through Amazon. For a 200 page book like mine, there’s a $4.00 or so charge that comes right off the top, and then you get 70% after that. When I came across KDP, I was looking at more than $1000 to publish about 90 copies so it was a godsend to come across it on Google. To be able to publish my book at no cost was a dream come true.
I apologize for pushing KDP but I’m doing it in an attempt to be of service to my friends here. I assure you, there is no self interest involved.
If you have any questions, I’ll be glad to answer them. Whatever route you take, sign me up for a copy. I look forward to reading it.

I had a listen to 12 of the 13 songs on Beatles and More 2 to get a feel for it. I think I’m going to like it slightly more than the first one. There are just so many great songs by so many wonderful artists. But the Twins are able to take great originals and somehow make them their own. At this point the only song that’s not around from Beatles and More 2 is Baby Mine, which is an old song from Dumbo in the 1940’s. I’m sure they’ve done a beautiful job with it!
There are like 7 new songs on Beatles and More 3 so I didn’t bother to do the same thing. I really admire the patience of Steve to wait until he has the CD in his hand but I’ll be listening (at a much higher quality than the YouTube versions) as soon as I’m able.
Steve, I will be sparing in my reviews until you tell me you’ve heard it- wouldn’t want to ruin your anticipation in any way.

I have never particularly cared for the Mona Lisa. I’m sure that speaks volumes to how little I know about art but as much as I’m knocked out by Michelangelo (the Pieta is my favorite piece of art) , Leonardo doesn’t move me in the same way.
One side benefit of Lisa and Mona is the L&M corresponds to Lennon and this other guy he used to work with.
-
Lisa- you are too funny!

I appreciate the support you’ve given MLT and am glad you’re looking out for them. You are exactly right on the downloads probably being available on 10-28 so wait I will. All the best until our next conversation!
-
Hey Richard,
I respect what you’re saying and will gladly respect all decisions that are made by the MLT team. But I don’t want you thinking I am just selfishly asking them to break policy for me. Here’s an exact quote from the Early Access page: We aim to make new content available to the MLT Club 1-2 weeks prior to the official release.
In fairness, this never seemed to apply to the release date of the two new CDs which had the date of October 28 set beside them at every turn. My request was certainly a direct result of my impatience- you got me on that one!
And while I’m happy the song you’re referring to was never heard by anyone until 10-28–and I’m pretty sure I know which one it was- MLT fans have done an excellent job of not putting up any songs from Orange.
Sorry if my request offended you.

It’s funny that you should mention, “Won’t You Listen Now” as that tune definitely has attached itself to me. But at the current moment it’s I’ll Follow the Sun.

Hey Steve,
As a veteran of several music message boards from about 15 years ago, I can tell you that people are motivated toward their own interests. Actually, that’s just as true of me. No matter how enthusiastic someone might be regarding Blake Shelton, I’m not really listening. We all have our limits to openness, if we didn’t we couldn’t get anything done. The good news is around here, you have people (like me) who look forward to your posts and will make sure to read all of them, or at least all we have the time for. Since I know you prefer responses to your posts, I’ll keep that in mind. Sometimes I’m afraid I’m a little annoying but that’s all any of us can do: shoot from the hip and be ourselves and see who that attracts.
