“Our Love Grows So Well” – Beatles Happening 2015 – Collaboration

Our Love Grows So Well!

In the MLT Club we’re trying to create a complete collection of all our musical endeavours, that includes our collaborations and “side projects” we’ve done over the years. Which brings us to today’s little musical post! 🙂

Besides a share on Facebook many years ago we don’t think we’ve ever told you guys about this song we recorded during our trip to Finland in 2015. We were part of the “Tampere Beatles Happening” that year which is an annual Fab-4 related festival that draws in thousands of visitors from all around the country and world.

Mikko Kangasjärvi, artistic director of the festival, produced this song with some of the performing bands and asked us if we could add some backing vocals. Sure, we can – that sounds like fun!

So off we went to his studio, sang some “ooohs” and “aaahs” before we had to get ready to play another gig that day. You can hear the backing vocals more pronounced in the second half of the song.

In our little video we cut together clips of the whole trip and experience in Finland. You can even see some footage of us at the studio. Here you can watch it again, if you haven’t seen it yet:

And of course there is always the photo archive album from our trip.As we’ve stated before, we loved our various trips to Finland and playing the Beatles festivals. However, as you also know, we started to remove ourselves from the “Beatles cover” circuit a few years ago, simply to avoid getting stuck and labelled as mainly a tribute act. We probably won’t be performing at similar festivals and conventions any time soon, but had a blast while we were there!

We obviously still love playing and recording covers and it will probably always be part of what we do. 🙂 However, there is definitely some more song-writing on the agenda for the months to come …

Stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

  1. Hello, Brothel Creepers were a type of shoe back in the day, some people here in England called them Beetle crushers also!

  2. I have always loved the video of your trip to Finland…so fun, so real and captured a time in your life perfectly! I really enjoyed seeing the 2 of you singing the harmonies and then actually stumbling onto the video of the song on you tube! It is catchy and has an excellent hook but would not be nearly as fun without your strong contribution! Very well done!

  3. Really enjoyed watching this video, great getting some insights as to what your life is like when you are out touring. Loved the music as always ladies, stay groovy.

  4. 4 AM!!!! Then checking the Gretsch and Rick at the airport???? To them the word “Fragile” is code for “just toss me around”. Good music at the shows. Always enjoy what you do. Lisa can stand toe-to-toe with anyone during a jam.

  5. That was a treat to my musical ears…. I was not familiar with that song but I like it and your backing vocals added a bonus complimentary essence to it!!!! Thankyou for sharing!!!!

  6. I always really enjoyed your Finland trip video as well as the photos from your second trip there. It just looked like a lot of fun, and the video gives a glimpse of what it might be like to go on a road tour with you. It’s really nice to hear that song you took part in. A really nice feeling song, especially when your vocals come in giving that beautiful background sound.

  7. Wonderful song and recording Mona and Lisa. Brothel Creepers is such a strange name for a group though. I have watched your Finland tour videos several times, but this is the first time I have heard this song. Thank you for sharing it with Club members.

  8. Very nice, but I must admit that the parts of the song that drew me in….when I was able to hear Mona and Lisa with their background harmonies…absolutely great! Am I prejudice about this…well, yes, of course. ? However, that in no way negates my point…the harmonies is what makes the song pop and stick! Congrats young ladies…you two are the best! Roger
