Radio Wien – Clubkonzert MonaLisa Twins – Radio Performance
Live on Radio Wien/Vienna!
This is a live broadcast on one of Austria’s biggest radio stations, of an entire show, just us, no other acts. With no cuts and room for error. We were slightly, or should we be honest and say, massively terrified but excited beyond belief about being able to play our music for more people than ever. We were told an average of 200 000 people would tune in.

That would have been the “biggest” show we had played up to then with the only difference of us not actually “seeing” the audience, or only a tiny fraction of it (the ones who attended in person). But at least that made us less nervous 🙂
We performed with our usual Austrian band line-up: Philipp Wolf on drums and Michael Mozeth on bass. The only addition we had for this concert was the lovely Julia Schaffer on backing vocals. She provided the often missing third female voice we needed for many of our songs, especially our original music which we wanted to sound as perfect and as close to the recordings as we could.
We started working with her for that show specifically but had a couple of gigs running up to the radio performance that we could already use as a “warm up”. Luckily, we filmed one of these shows and there are now a few clips online of all of us performing together, like Revolution, Johnny B. Goode or Day Tripper.
Definitely a show to remember!

Well why have you “hidden” this concert to me – well just realized it today 22-12-22. It’s really worth listening to. Clear sound well produced and some versions are actually better sounding that the ones you’ve recorded to a cd. So try to promote it a bit better – eventually as a Yule gift to your trusty supporters – well done – more of that please. Yeah why not make local club concerts made live to club members.
I just listened to this for the first time today. It was an excellent show, you all sounded so great and tight. I understood about 1/8 of the German, but I take that as a win.
Ein tolles Radiokonzert, vielen Dank fürs Teilen. Schön finde ich auch die österreichischen Färbungen der deutschen Sprache, einfach angenehm anzuhören (im Gegensatz zum sächsischen Dialekt meines Bundeslandes). 🙂
Just listened to this live radio show again. For some reason it sounds even better the second time around. Maybe because I am so much more familiar with the Twins music now, I’m able to pick up something new with each listen. Just love the live radio version of ‘Won’t You Listen Now’ with Mona’s sweetly pleading vocals and harmonica accompanied by Lisa’s mesmerising guitar, which is even more mesmerising in ‘The Last Time’. The lovely ‘I Don’t Know Birds That Well’, and a hauntingly beautiful rendition of ‘Catch The Wind’ and much, much more. So much to enjoy in this show, you won’t be disappointed!
