5th Anniversary MLT Club – Livestream

The MLT Club’s 5th birthday is coming up and to celebrate we’re doing an exclusive Livestream for members only! The precise anniversary date is October 11th but to make it more convenient for everyone to join in we’re scheduling the stream for the Sunday after:

Sunday, 15th October 2023 at 10 pm (BST)

London – 10 pm
Los Angeles – 2 pm
New York – 5 pm
Berlin – 11 pm
Moscow – 1 am
Sydney – 9 am

There will be live music, an exciting announcement, a live Q&A, … Don’t miss it! 🙂

Submit your Live Question as a video! (*entries now closed*)

Throughout the Livestream we will try to interact with you through the chat as much as we can but we also want to do a segment in which we answer some video questions that you have sent in beforehand. To take part, please submit a short (max. 60 seconds) video of yourself, following these steps:

  1. Briefly introduce yourself (your name, where are you from, when/why you joined the MLT Club, …)
  2. Ask a short question for us to answer during our Livestream
  3. Upload the video to YouTube (can be set to ‘unlisted’ if you want)
  4. Send us the video link to mlt-club@monalisa-twins.com
  5. The deadline for video submissions is October 10th

We will watch the videos for the first time live on air during the Livestream and react / answer in real time. Michaela (our step mum) will look through them in advance and get them ready.

We think this would be a fun way to involve you all a bit more in the Livestream! We’re looking forward to your videos! 🙂

Stay groovy and see you soon!

Mona & Lisa

  1. Hi All….since I couldn’t post my photo of myself with celebratory Apple Crisp I made for MLT CLUB’S 5th Anniversary/Birthday …. I posted it separately as an update and/or maybe I posted under the Forum .. 🙃😉🎉🎊

  2. “I Don’t Mind” is a terrific song. “I Don’t Know Birds” is my favorite, I think, and as someone who has also lived with a lot of them, nose-to-beak, and been a birdbrain from birth, it’s one of the songs that made me a fan. Thinking of their perspective on things, my favorite Nick Drake song (which would make a beautiful cover here)- “Thoughts of Mary Jane”- is nominally about marijuana, but to me it’s on a similar subject to “I Don’t Know Birds”, and similarly charming. What goes on in their minds? What’s it like up there? (“Skylark” is another great one- birds seem to bring out that romanticism in us). Anyway, if anyone reads this, give Nick Drake’s song a listen and see if you agree.

  3. I have just watched the MLT Club s 5th birthday, it was great to see the members asking questions and I have loved to see you singing all these great songs, I loved your new song “I don t mind”. Also great covers of “What a wonderful world”, “Dream a little dream of me”. Beautiful. Happy Birthday. Merci

  4. So I had a horrible senior moment, lost track of time and missed the live stream. I’ve watched it now, so I don’t mind! You are getting better and better with age (although 30 isn’t that old compared to 72). Lisa, you have a beautiful voice and Mona you are so perfect with harmonies. (And you are both great the other way around.) I’ve been a member for 4 years and it’s the best investment I’ve ever made! Love you so much! (And props to Papa Rudy and Michela too)

  5. I re watched the Livestream last night to listen to the music again. Just amazing. I didn’t realize how nice that song of Paul’s was done. I don’t think I ever heard it before but it was beautiful. I never noticed Lisa’s vibrato before (if that’s what you call it) it blew my mind, lost for words. Mona was really getting into some nice finger picking also and I love her voice on Summer Rain. Just fantastic work girls, I will listen to it many more times, thank you all.

  6. It looks like all the relevant superlatives have been stated at this point, but I’ll just add that I was very impressed with the singing debut of “Mama Lisa”!

    1. “Mama Lisa” has a lot of weight to gain if she wants to play the Cass part. Interestingly the song was written in 1931 and the Twins rendition sounds to me like it was right out of the 1930’s. It struck me that it has been almost 100 years since that song was written. What a beautiful cover!

      1. Very true, Dennis. The modern entertainment industry exploded into existence in the 1930’s, so we’re coming up on the 100th anniversary of all sorts of famous songs, radio shows, movies, etc.

  7. Missed you live, but just watched it now. Such a fun time, and I loved the songs you performed! You are such an inspiration to us all! God Bless and Stay Groovy!

  8. Hi Mona & Lisa!

Thanks for a wonderful Livestream yesterday! I was a little disappointed that you didn’t use my video, but no problem, “I Don’t Mind” at all! I enjoyed the fan videos that you showed, & I’m sure that you must have had too many to use anyway. Congrats to the people whose videos were selected!

I had to watch your MLT Celebration later, because the Jazz Band I’m in had a concert performance from 3:30 to 5 pm, Pacific West Coast Time.” I play trumpet in that group, but I sang with the Band for the first time in a long while, in two duets. It was so much fun! The audience was great, & loved everything we did, so we were all happy with the results!

What I enjoyed the most about your Livestream were ALL of your songs, the fan videos, your chatter, answers to questions, your drawings for winners & your bubbly personalities as usual! I like to watch your guitar playing and get discouraged myself only because “life gets in the way,” and I end up missing practicing the guitar every day!
But I need to practice for using it in the classroom again on Friday!

I can usually tell your voices apart, but I was surprised to see Mona sing lead on “Summer Rain,” which is a beautiful song by the way — fine singing! Also, nice job on the vocal French Horn part on “For No One!” And I loved hearing you covers of “Dream a Little Dream of Me,” and “Wonderful World!”

I’ve actually had a few dreams about the two of you, that were a bit humorous! I woke up thinking “how did that happen?”

As per Lisa’s suggestion, I watched Melody Gardot’s songs on YouTube, which I enjoyed! They were similar to Diana Krall’s material, yet Gardot’s vibrato reminds me of Eartha Kitt! Also, I enjoyed Pauls’ “For No One,” from his “Give My Regards to Broad Street” movie.

I’m already looking forward to your “Advent Calendar” videos. I watched ALL of the old ones!

CHEERS! — and you both did a fine job on your presentation yesterday! — Bud

  9. Thank you, Mona and Lisa, for hosting the Livestream on Sunday. As always, good times and good music. I especially enjoyed when you played “For No One”. One of my favorite Beatles songs!

The video in which Paul plays the song with an orchestra is from his 1984 movie, “Give My Regards to Broad Street”. The entire soundtrack to the film is outstanding, and the film is a fun romp (spoiler alert; it was all a dream) in a search for a missing master recording tape. Ringo is prominent in the movie along with their wives, Linda and Barbara. It also introduced a young Tracey Ullman.

Looking forward to seeing your video, “Teach Your Children Well” with Papa Rudi. It will be awesome watching a “Trio Session” with Papa Rudi slapping the bass! Saw CSN back in 1984 when I was in school.

Looking back, 1984 was a pretty good year!

  10. Hello M and L (and R and M). Your live stream was magical and I won one of the MLT badges, which made my day, week, year etc etc. To be part of such love and togetherness is irreplaceable and almost overwhelming. The world needs positive beacons like you and this, plus seeing how my nephews and niece live and act with such decency and vigour gives me hope for a better future.

  11. That was great! I came in a bit late but I caught most of it and rewatched later. It amazes me that you two can sing live so well when you don’t do it very often. I loved the songs and have noted offsets for future playbacks. Lisa sounded great in spite of having a cold (or whatever she has). I especially liked the redo of What a Wonderful World and the covers of For No One and Dream a Little Dream of Me – perhaps future Duo Sessions?

  12. Dear Mona Dear Lisa
I was unfortunately unable to participate directly in the Live Show.
    I just watched the Show.
Love what you guys are doing.
Thank you very much – walking around smiling🤩🤩

  13. Dearest Mona and Lisa,
I’m just so happy after hanging with my favorites for so long, enjoying your marvelous personalities and exceptional live performances. I could listen to those voices all day and night. Lisa starts off with her amazing power and vibrato – can’t get better – till Mona adds those heavenly high harmonies. Just spellbinding…
Please also, never a need to question whether seeing you both, live or on posts, is fun. Anytime with such wonderful, talented, and beautiful people is a privilege and a blessing!
Thank you for being such great club leaders!

  14. Really enjoyed the livestream, so thanks for putting that together. You’re both just fun to listen, whether the topic is serious or silly. And hearing you play live is just a bonus. What a great way to cap off the weekend.

  15. Great show ladies. Thank you for celebrating your accomplishment with us. The songs were all lovely. Looking forward to Advent already.
    Ordered my badge too.

  16. Would love to order a 5 year badge but can’t afford to, as I went out on a limb to buy the Duo Sessions bundle….. have to watch my budget carefully… but I do like the look /idea of the 5 year commerative badge … Groovy Keepsake to have … 🤘🎊🎉😊

      1. Don’t worry , I will 😊 …. but not n winter time for fear I’ll lose it wearing all my layers to keep warm but in Spring/Summer and on special occasions I will…. I live in Canada, it becomes Winter in November usually and goes on into April …. I ‘ll guard the badge with my life to keep it safe …you can ” Count On Me ” ( hint -hint – MLT song ) 😊😉

      2. Winters here in the UK tend to be murky and damp with interludes of sunny periods. Daytimes temperatures during the depths of winter can be between -5 to +10C (more often positive numbers) during the day and -10 to + 5C overnight. This is for London, for Scotland you can subtract 5 from all of these figures. In London we might get a few days of snow but where I grew up, Poole/Bournemouth, you might go 3 years without snow. We do have it rather easy!

  17. In celebration of MLT CLUB’S 5th Anniversary/Birthday … Homemade Apple Crisp freshly baked and with Whipped Cream on top ( cheated on Whipped Cream- store bought small carton but whipped it up using my late Mom’s 50+ year General Electric Mixer )

  18. Stupendous Show ladies. No worries, Mona, it was “thrilling entertainment”. Dig that “vocal” instrumental interlude in “For No One”.

  19. Thank you for a truly magical evening. I’ll never wrap my head around the wonderful fact that you were actually sitting there playing while I was watching! It is like having you in my own living room. Thanks for all the joy you bring to our lives!

  20. Thank you so much Mona and Lisa for a most wonderful time. Appreciate everything you do. Love you all. 💛❤

  21. That was great! Loved your song selection. Our small town internet was glitchy, so we could not keep up with the chat. We got it to smooth out, but we were behind the chat. Still enjoyed it immensely. Thank you for sharing your night with us.

    Love,

    Marlo & JP

  22. Thanks, Mona & Lisa (and Papa Rudi & Michaela behind the scenes). The livestream music was fantastic – so fresh and immediate, and the couthie chat was like spending time with dear friends (which you are). Looking forward to the Duo Sessions II CD when it comes and have already ordered your Anniversary Badge. Thank you for being so generous in sharing your time and talent with your fans. Yours is the only fan club I’ve ever joined and I’m so glad I did.😊 Lots of love and hugs to Team MLT. xx💕

  23. Thank you for recording the livestream! So sorry I missed out. I had to play at an assisted living facility with my church. I am enjoying watching now.🎤🎸💖

  24. What an amazing hour and a half! I’m still in a state of shock that my video submission was aired! No string or amount of expletives can cover the feeling of seeing that come up on the monitor. I’m still glancing out the window at the lake, staring in amazement wondering if that really happened or if I’m on board wandering the galaxy with Janitor Joe…??? If I wasn’t fully in awe of these two remarkable ladies already, I sure am now.
Papa Rudi and Michaela, thank you both for all you do in the background, you deserve so much credit.
And I have a confession to make: that white tee sat in the bag unopened on my table in my practice room since the day it arrived with my Orange vinyl LP and turntable slip pad. I figured I should wear something more appropriate for the video so I pulled it on just prior to recording it. What I didn’t notice was that there was a small red sticker on the front with the shirt size on it…yeesh what a doofus I am.

  25. Sorry I Missed the Livestream! Watching the video now…. Couldn’t get back home in time! YAll look and sound GREAT!

  26. Frikkin Immensely Thoroughly Embraced that Hoyr and A Half …. Wow…. That’s a 5 Year Milestone way to commemorate and Eminate Truly With/For …. Thankyou for the virtual celebration for this Milestone…. A Fab time chatting with members from all over , newcomers, friends …. Thankyou Mona, Lisa, Rudi , Michaela for putting this altogether , A great success indeed, hoping there is a playback link to be available for all who couldn’t tune in live but still wishes to see it 🤘🏻🫶👌✌️

  27. What a brilliant way to spend Sunday Evening. Thanks to all concerned in making it a success. Not forgetting Mona and Lisa too!

  28. That was so much fun. My live chat kept freezing up saying I had too many entries, Lol. I was about a minute behind the video all night. I loved all the music, can’t wait to watch it again. Thank you so much.

    1. That too many entries was because you were trying to type in too many numbers too fast, Tim. I know, because I tried it too. lol.

      1. Yeah Chris, I know, Lol. I was pushing the limits. I don’t even think I was in the right game all the time haha, that was fun.

  29. That was great fun. Sorry, I couldn’t work out the tech to comment/see the comments 🤷‍♂️😅but my wife, son and daughter and I were watching you full screen on the telly and clapping 👏🙌. My son (14) has been singing Janitor Joe all day 😆 and loved all the wee references in the chat. I’ve been playing all of your CD’s this weekend in an MLT marathon, lol and can hardly wait to get Duo Sessions II. Thanks again. Looking forward to advent 🎅 Goodnight from Caithness, Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🎵🎶🤗

  30. The BBHouseRodent story. In 2010 I started doing commentary videos for the US version of Big Brother usings puppets after a mouse was discovered in the Big Brother house. My YouTube channel I used to post those videos was what I use to log into the MTL live streams.

Anyway, that was really fun, as always. Proud to lend my support to keep it going!

  31. It was great Hangin’ Out with 2 of my Favorite People.Love these Livestreams.Love seeing your smiling faces, and listeng to those Angelic voices.
Loved to the new songs, cannot wait till my copy of Duo Sessions II arrives.Thank you for all you do for all of us MLT Club members. Thanks Papa Rudi for the Tech side of the stream

    As Always,sending Love & Hugs to All💛💓

    Tom

    1. Wasn’t it though. I missed the first two songs after getting caught up in the end of a Cincinnati Bengals game. Oddly enough I feel nervous when a livestream begins, so I kind of enjoyed replaying it later to see how it went. I particularly enjoyed the question and answer segments. Loved their response on the political undercurrents (my word of the day, hurray!) behind “Why”? and “Jump Ship” too. 👍

  32. Have there been cover songs you wanted to record and could not get License or other legal release to use? Is there anything that as fans can do to help with this?

  33. Paul McCartney said that almost every time that he and John Lennon sat down together to write – they came up with something pretty good.

  34. I got to see your part in the movie of A love letter to the Beatles aka Here There and Everywhere, my name is listed in the supporting credits of the movie. Have you seen the screening yet? Movie not released yet.

  35. I just checked in to the Livestream, it looked kind of empty. I felt like I should plug in the amps or set up a snack table or something, Lol. This is going to be fun.

  36. Hi. I’ve just pre-ordered The Duo Sessions II (and a key ring) and tested the tech so my new tablet connects to the TV for watching the liveshow tonight on the big screen 🤗

  37. Unfortunately the live stream is a little late for me, so I won’t be joining this time.
You guys have fun!! Looking forward to watching the upload later 🙂

  38. Didn’t get around to doing a video question for the Livestream but maybe you will take my question here. With all the discussion and debate these days on how Artificial Intelligence is going to affect the music industry both positive and negative. What are your thoughts and feelings on it’s future role?

Also since so many of your covers are of Beatles songs if you could have any of your original music covered by an AI Beatles program which one(s) would you most like to hear sung by the AI Beatles?

    Rich in Sunny Florida

  39. I’ll try and put together a video for submission today, I’m a bit of a techno dummy (old numpty that I am) but will see… I’m in the prep mode today for Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend and some outdoor fall cleanup that still has to be done before the weather goes south with the birds. But somethings are just more important than cooking and cleaning up leaves right?

  40. Can’t wait for this. Unfortunately I will not be posting vid as I’m not that tech savvy but rest assured I will be there. Always enjoy the live streams.

  41. I am so excited about this! I hope it’s about 6 hours long!😜
Mona and Lisa, how about it? You are night people.🥱
Or give us an early Halloween and be in costume.
Every year I dress as a grumpy old man. Or is it every day?
I’ll wear one of my MLT shirts. Can’t be grumpy in that!

    1. Tim, I would be up for a 6 hour livestream, maybe make song requests in the chat box. I like the idea of Mona and Lisa in costume also, We clubbers could send in videos in costume also, Lol, My wife and I dressed up a lot to give out candy and then hit the Halloween parties at the local bars. Many great memories.

  42. Darn it! I just found out that our band is playing a gig from 3:30 to 5:30 pm, Pacific West Coast time on Oct. 15th! I’ll be driving when your thing starts. I’ll have to watch your live stream after I get back. Oh well………
I hope everything goes perfect for you!

    — Bud J.

  43. Just got back from vacation to south Dakota and had my MLT tee shirt on and some one came up to me at Mt Rushmore and high five me, , more fans then they know i bet

  44. Another surprise!! You Ladies are extremely friendly to your fans, thank you , I can’t wait for the anouncement and am very curious….. Love you family Wagner!!

  45. Wow, the livestream sounds fantastic. I can’t wait.
I will be with the Club for two years in January. Sorry I missed the beginning years, but I really enjoyed being with you all for the last two years. Thanks.
    Bobby S.

  46. Wow, that sounds very cool! Looking forward to it.

I’m also wondering about the times listed. I’m not sure the times are quite correct for all the cities. I wouldn’t want anyone to miss it, so it might be worth a double check.

Berlin goes off summer time on October 29th. US goes off the first weekend of November. There’s a website out there with a widget for doing the calculation:

I used to work with websites, and software developers get these things wrong sometimes, so it jumped out at me. Thanks.

    https://greenwichmeantime.com/time-gadgets/time-zone-converter/

I have a screenshot of that site with the times, but I am so far not finding how to paste it in here.

      1. Sunday Oct. 15th 5:00 for me CST. Absolutely perfect because the Packers have a bye week.
        😃

      2. Hi Chris, those times are off by an hour, sorry to say. I know they said 10pm GMT, but they meant BST as we’re in Daylight Savings time. You have NY at 6pm when it’s at 5pm.
Technically, GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) is unmovable, so it put the other times off by an hour.
Tim, if you check in at 5pm Central Time you’ll be an hour late.

      3. Tomás,
Yes, the times are correct if it’s 10pm BST instead of GMT.

Hopefully everyone gets it sorted out. Thanks.

      4. Yes, the times are accurate unless you on daylight savings, or your time zones differ from state to state in USA, and in Canada too, lije I was saying in my own previous reply here, it’s 5 PM for me , for Jung it’s 2 PM and for the Prairies Gang, 2 hrs behind me , while in the Maritimes, a hour ahead and on Newfoundland, they are an hour and a half or a half hr ahead… at any rate, you can look up for exact time at the National Research Council website ( what I used when the power goes out to get excited time to reset things, if my phone not handy on me….lol… well, I would rely on that website/their phone number in the past before having cell phone/computer/tablet ) or just Google up a time zone converter site, hope this helps ….

      5. Thanks Tomas, It’s a little confusing with GMT, BST, CST and DST. I don’t have any other plans for Sunday so I’ll start checking in early. Hope to see you all in the chat box.

    1. I’m in Canada….5-6 hrs behind UK , in my area, Jung out on the west coast in Canadais 3 hrs behind me and whomever is in Calgary or whatever Prairie – province ( Sorry for not remembering exact province but I know it’s a Prairie one is 2 hrs behind me in Canada and any MKT Clubbers in Canada on East coast would be ahead of me by half hour or 1 and a 1/2 hrs ………Yes time zones are varied all over …. but hoping many can tune on live or rewatch on playback , if it will possible for MLT to do so 🤘🏻😎

    2. Hi Chris,
In New York, we are with Daylight Savings Time till November 5th.
The Livestream is on October 15th, so the 5 PM time is accurate.
      Take care,
      Bobby S.

      1. 5:00 in NY? So that’s 4:00 in Wisconsin, Heck I’ll just log in at noon. I’ll be home watching football anyway.

    3. Everyone, sorry for the confusion! Yes, it should have said 10pm BST instead of GMT! We’ve sent out a correction in yesterday’s MLT Club Wire and will send another reminder email tomorrow. We’re looking forward to seeing you all at the livestream! 🙂

  47. Awesome! Going to be so much fun! Thank you for all that you do for us in the Club! You sure spoil us! 🙂

  48. Oh wow, what an awesome way to celebrate the MLT Club 5th birthday. It’s going to be so fun, looking forward to it. It will be a wonderful birthday party. THANK YOU!

  49. WooHoo, that’s an Awesome way to celebrate the 5th Birthday Anniversary of the MLT Club …Now I’m #MLTBuzzLuvGroovified stoked for this, and I’m getting my thinking cap in motion now to try and attempt in doing up a video submission to YouTube and sending off to Submit for that date… This is going to Rock Groovy and All MLT Clubbers are going to embrace this truly…. Oh Yeah !!!!!! Can October 11th be here yet ?!?! …..😊🤘🎊🎉
