Day 5 – Quizzes, please!

Send us some quizzes!

A few of you suggested that we do quizzes during one of our Livestreams. Great idea!

So, for today, please send us some good online quizzes we could have a look at tomorrow! Maybe something music related but we’re open for anything, just leave a link in the comments below.

If they are on the shorter side, we might be able to attempt a few of them 🙂

Stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

  1. This is not a quiz but more of a ” Did You Know ” ….thing….
    For example :
Did U Know that Ja’net Dubois who sang ” The Jeffersons ” tv show Theme song played ” Willona ” on ” Good Times”and a very young Hanet Jackson played Penny on ” Good Times ….
Laurie Metcalfe and her real life daughter Zoe Perry both portrayed Sheldon Cooper’s Mom
Both Goldie Hawn and her daughter Kate Hudson played roles in movies of a groupie/fan of bands , Goldie in ” Banger Sisters” while Jate Hudson was in ” Almost Famous ”
John Sebastian sang the ” Welcome Back Kotter “tv show theme song
Dusty Springfield for one/two seasons along with BJ Thomas sang the theme song fir ” Growing Pains ” tv show while Jennifer Warnes/BJ Thomas did originally
Lol….that ‘s about all my tired mind can come up with … I’m soon off to bed…. see yas on Livestream Wednesday at 4 pm my time

  2. The only quizzes I regularly see are the ones on Youtube asking about whether I’ve seen some company’s advertisements lately.

  3. Um…. nit quite sure but how do you take part in these YouTube Quizzes.. do you answer in the comments section for the particular quiz on YouTube that you’re viewing or just read and guess and not post comments on that particular Quiz YouTube thingy…. lol…. I’m good with TV/Music Trivia stuff somewhat…. I know whenever having played Trivial Pursuit game… I scored highest in the TV/Song categories ….lol

  4. Yikes! I am so embarrassed everyone, no idea what this is but I will be interested to see how this works tomorrow. Sorry old school boy here…LOL…

    1. That’s hilarious. Reminds me of when I turned 30 and watched my brother in law tell his son that he can’t trust me any more.

    1. I rarely do quizzes especially on Facebook as they’re Hacker Traps I think…. lol….. I’ll try looking up online here for quizzes or ….. just be creative and create myown for everyone to do along with Mona & Lisa for tomorrow ( Wednesday ) Livestream …. let me see what I can conjure up Quizz -wise and post here when I’m finished ….. but will do so when I get home….had to do errands today, snowy-ish on/off again and so buses are late and traffic is crazy …..will work on this once I’m back home ⛄️❄️☃️🌨
    1. I don’t know what the plan is but I hope Mona and Lisa play along. I think it’s kind of funny that we are all answering them now.

      1. Thanks David. It’s been many years since I did a copy and paste. I’ll give a try one day. Thanks for replying. Take Care,
        Bobby S.

  5. This looks to be a blast. I’m a bit like Daryl so unless the tiny bit of creativity I have comes to the surface I will be watching as well. Great idea!!

      1. I got 4 right, Dylan, Johnny Cash, Tom Jones and Jim Reeves (my country roots). A few I never heard of.

      2. Two of the ones I got were also Cash and Reeves, but I used to listen to a lot of country music when I was young, and both have very distint voices.

      1. Wow, ten whole seconds?
I can guess most songs from the 60’s in five seconds, haha. Just saying…
        Bobby S.

      2. Or if that’s too easy (for Bobby anyway lol) here’s a twist…guess the original songwriter.

      3. I liked this format, but the ones with only the intros without the main artist voice were perhaps a bit too tough.

    1. Jung,

I’m surprised I got 3 wrong on the Paul vs. John Quiz. But the rest were easy, because I’ve read so many Beatle books! That was fun!

I’m reading this as I’m eating dinner at 11:30 pm. I worked all day teaching, then went home, & got ready to go play in our Band concert in Seattle. Gotta get some sleep for work tomorrow! Enjoy the Livestream tomorrow everyone!

      — Bud

      1. Bud, I always thought it was George and Pete Best that were burning condoms but I’m probably wrong.

    1. Let’s see – Chambers Brothers, Bee Gees, Jackson Five, Osnonds, Taveras, Pointer Sisters, Carpenters, McGuire Sisters, the Soul Survivors, Beach Boys, etc.
Sorry I’m not trying to show off. lol.
      Bobby S.

      1. 1.AC/DC 2.BTO 3.CCR, could be answers for the alphabet game too.
4.Heart 5.Gladys Knight and the Pips 6.The Black Crows 7.MonaLisa Twins 8.Lilliac 9. The Marshall Tucker Band 10. Allman Brothers.

    2. A fun one! I chose to interpret the question as “had or have” brothers and sisters in them: MonaLisa Twins, Everly Brothers, Carpenters, Beach Boys, The Carter Sisters and Mother Maybelle, Andrews Sisters, McGuire Sisters, The Cranberries, The Osmonds, The Jackson 5

      1. Carter family is a great one. I think Sara Carter was a sister in law to Mother Maybelle and you could also include Johnny Cash, his brother Tommy, Johnny’s daughter Roseanne, and Deanna and Carlene Carter who were grand daughters I think. What a clan, I bet the family reunions were fun, Lol

      2. Luv the Carter family… June and her sisters , Mother Maybelle, Sara was sister in law to Maybelle, Carlene Carter ….John Carter, Rosanne Cash, etc…. love old school country music ….
Loretta Lynn and her sister Crystal Gayle, Loretta ‘s Twin Girls, and another of Loretta’s daughters and a sister of Loretta’s are singers, Hank William/Hank Jr/Hank all…. Reba McEntire/Susie McEntire/Pake McEntire …. Mandrell Sisters….Dottie/Shelley West.. David/Lefty Frizzell … and a whole bunch of others I know of just can’t recall all of them at once.. .lol

      3. Yeah, I love a lot of the old country. Dolly had some brothers and sisters that sang too. I’ve seen clips of Jerry Lee Lewis singing with his wife who was also his 1st cousin and only 13 when they married.

      4. Yep, I grew up with some older brothers and sisters that loved country music, all good music really. Everything from Hank Williams to the Beatles. Didn’t matter if it was country or rock as long as it was good.

      5. And Jerry Lee was already married when he married his cousin. Don’t forget that part. lol.

        Must have been love.

      6. Lol, you’re right. Something tells me a lot of the country artists were actually related. Jerry Lee was related to Mickey Gilley and the TV evangelist Jimmy Swaggart.

      7. Bellamy Brothers had a lot of great country-pop songs, I seen them live once and had forgot how many great songs they had.

    3. Osmonds, Jackson 5, Partridge Family ( only fir TV show for Partridge Family ) , Von Trapps, The Brady Bunch kids ( again a TV show family ), Carpenters, Renee Simard and his sister, The Rankins, Irish Rovers, Family Brown…. that’s all who are coming into my mid off hand fir my answers….lol

      1. I thought of the Partridge Family too, but I think they were only family in character though, Carpenters is a good one, not too many brother sister acts, Donny and Marie I guess.

      1. That’s a tough one David. Another one I just thought of with sisters is Fanny, June and Jean Millington. I didn’t know who they were before that post in the Club a while back. I’ve listened to them quite a bit since. They were really good.

      2. I keep thinking of the Pointer sisters and the Supremes but they only had 3 members I think, I’m still thinking. I’m not going to use google.

      3. You might remember them as a trio because one of them was absent from the group for several months while she was pregnant.

      4. Haha, I can think of the names of a lot of girl groups like the Crystals and Shirelles, but I don’t know much about them.

    4. Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Holmes Brothers, The Brothers Johnson, Delfeayo Marsalis Band, The Dorsey Brothers, the Andrews Sisters, the Statler Brothers, the Kinks, Dire Straits, AC/DC, Radiohead, No Doubt.

      I guess that’s 12.

      1. Yeah, 10-12 it doesn’t matter. I think we are just trying to get them all, Lol. I completely missed the Kinks. Eddie and Alex Van Halen put together a decent rock band for a while.

      1. Yeah Chris me too. If you’ve never heard of the Collins kids, look them up on YouTube. Larry and Laurie Collins. They started out on Tex Ritter’s show. I believe Laurie was 16 and Larry was 14. They covered a lot of 50’s Rock n Roll hits. Larry played a twin neck guitar and he could really move. Amazing player.

      2. Never heard of the Collins kids, but I just watched them, lol.

By my math, Lorrie’s actually 15 here, though she looks a lot older than Larry.

        youtu.be/cYPlj67Mtlo

I didn’t grow up with country music. The name Tex Ritter sounds familiar, but I’ve never seen him. I’ll have to check him out too.

      3. Chris, I don’t know much about Tex Ritter, only that he was a singing cowboy and John Ritter’s Dad. I remember a big hit he had called Hillbilly Heaven.

  6. A to Z quiz. Name a band or artist that starts with each letter of the alphabet. You can also do it with cities, countries, automobiles, etc.

  7. Here is a comprehensive (I think) list of one-word Beatles song titles, with the letters scrambled. Unscramble them! Everyone feel free to post your solutions AFTER the livestream!

    1) osby
    2) glir
    3) pleh
    4) inar
    5) tawi
    6) lauji
    7) glifny
    8) siryem
    9) maxant
    10) caseebu
    11) gisgipe
    12) dibhytar
    13) caxthbom
    14) cleehilm
    15) drabblick
    16) tonghisem
    17) reyetysad

      1. 🤔 Hmmm…Gee, David, is #6 incredibly obscure or am I gonna kick myself when I hear the correct unscramble? Maybe I’m suffering from a brain bubble…

      2. Ooh! Got it! I kept getting hung up on a phonetic spelling for eulogy(ulaji) for some reason, even though I couldn’t place it as a Beatles song! Sometimes the obvious ones escape me!

      3. Hmm. Those came to me right away but 16 took a moment. Having been a cryptographer in the Army, simple scrambled words are usually pretty easy.

      4. Yeah, not so much that bit. But there was one time in an Escape Room where I had a playfair cipher solved before they found the key… 😀

      1. No worries, Bobby, it’s a pretty useless talent in the grand scheme of life! For whatever reason I’ve always had a kinda savant-like ability for unscrambling words even though #6 kicked my butt for a while. I don’t consider that statement boastful because I’ve never studied or otherwise tried to cultivate that ability. It’s just there for whatever reason.

      2. Oooohhhh.. Word Scrambles, Luv Wheel Of Fortune, Jeopardy….in the 1970s on Canadian TV there were some decent trivia type shows : Headline Hunters, Definition, Reach For The Top, Front Page Challenge and some others I know of just can’t recall names of shows but the ones I gave mentioned here, I enjoyed watching back in the day …..

      3. You are not alone Robert. I like to do word scrambles, but I’m not very good at it. I enjoy watching Jeopardy on TV, but I almost never get the unscrambling done quickly enough. Since every possible imperfection must have a syndrome associated with it, I’ll call this SBS (Slow Brain Syndrome).

  8. Hello Ladies,
This should be fun. Looking forward to it. Perhaps not as much as you both are anticipating a visit from Krampus 👹👺
    That should be entertaining.
    🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 jk 😜 Have a great day Ladies

  9. This will be very interesting and fun to see what people come up with! I have all the imagination of a shoe lace when it comes to things like that so I’ll just sit in the weeds and absorb. See yis tomorrow.

  10. Sounds like fun! I’m sure you’ll get plenty of links sent in, so I think I’ll just sit back and reap the rewards of some other clubbers’ toils this time. I promise I won’t look at Dan’s ahead of time in case you use it! If you don’t, I can always click on it later! See you tomorrow!🙂🤔

  11. Ok ! Here´s the easy one for Beatles fans. who was the first outside musician to play on Beatles song (George Martin not counts), what was his instrument and on what song he played ?

    1. The right answer is Johnnie Scott who plays flutes on “You´ve Got Hide Your Love Away” on “Help!” album.
