  1. Missed the stream. But I watched it the next day of course! LOVE the streams! I still write a few checks each month. Only for regular bills though. The Beatles quiz was a bit tricky for me too. Did O.K. on the 60 voices. I missed a few though. Not sure how I missed the Dusty Springfield one but I did.

See you all on Sunday! I will not miss that one!

  2. Hello Mona and Lisa
First of all, thank you for the advent calendar.
I watch you stream in the evening but in fact I don't understand anything since I speak/understand English live.
This is why I watch the video again the next day on YouTube, confirming the French subtitles.
It worked for the first ones but not for Wednesday's 
Can you validate the subtitles for the next ones if this is technically possible?
    THANKS
PS: Lisa, Wednesday's hairstyle suits you very well and you both look radiant, it's nice to see.

  3. I was surprised to learn from the three-letter word quiz that Lisa and Mona are apparently unfamiliar with the “girl groups” of the early 60’s. This is my go-to genre when I just want to feel young and happy, with my whole future ahead of me. I hope they’ll give a listen to some of the hits of the Shirelles, the Chiffons, the Crystals, etc.

  4. It was interesting today I noticed a significant generational difference between Baby Boomers like most of us, and Gen Z (MLT). Back in the 80s and 90s I remember I use to write checks often to pay bills, or buy things from someone from the classifieds, but then by the 2000s, it was online banking bliss, Pay Pal and debit card scanners everywhere. Since online banking which has made paying bills so much easier, and with email transfers, I now have the same check book my bank issued me 20 years ago sitting in my drawer hardly used. I guess for many of us who grew up in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and even the 90s, it would have been hard to avoid not writing checks, but I can see why Lisa and Mona, and people their age would never have had to write checks. For the Gen Z and later, checks would be an antiquated thing like type writers. I recall at my first job, getting pay checks every couple weeks issued in our mailboxes with paystubs, and having to go to the bank to deposit into my account. That was a ritual, but man, nowadays it’s all direct deposit.

I am also seeing cash going the way of the Dodo bird too. Was at a recent event downtown and there were some food trucks, and it said “no cash”, card and debit only. I am seeing more of that, even at some coffee shops now. I hardly ever use cash anymore, and I have the same bills still in my wallet since the summer. I never have coins on my anymore as parking meters take cards, and cell phones have replaced phone booths. “The times, They Are A Changin”

Well except at the supermarket, those carts still require loonies or toonies to unlock. It will be funny seeing a debit/credit card scanner on shopping carts when that happens. 😜

    1. In 1980 I started working at a big IT company on payments systems. We moved many billions of $$ every day with direct deposit; it’s been around a long time.

I don’t use the carts at the market I go to. That’s what my stylish new Tote bag is for…

    2. True, Jung. About the only thing I use physical checks for anymore is at auctions or to send an anniversary gift to my nephew and his wife. Several local auction companies don’t accept plastic and others charge 5-15% fees for the privilege. Cash or check are still viable options, especially if you’re frugal, or cheap like me! When my nephew married in 2000, I joked that I’d send them $1 each for each year they stayed married. This year, with the $46 check I quipped “Man, this is getting expensive! Aren’t you getting tired of each other yet?”

  5. Well, unfortunately I missed the Livestream, as I will on Friday because of my Music Teaching job that I got this week. I didn’t have time to watch the whole thing tonight, but I’ll finish seeing it tomorrow night. Our concert in Seattle went very well last night!

I did look at some of the Quizzes yesterday. One was easy, and the Backwards songs were pretty difficult. Good job on those submissions!

I’m getting ready for my classes tomorrow. Enjoy the next Advent Calendar Day! — Bud

  6. Just a fabulous hour and 15 minutes. The sweaters were really beautiful. You are so much fun and a bit silly sometimes (which I am sure all the clubbers love). It is such a joy to be a part of this community of great people!! Mona and Lisa…don’t worry about how long the livestream is…I am sure most of us could stay with you for hours!!

  7. Thank you so much for another wonderful Livestream, they are so special to be able to hang out with you, and the MLT community. Your musical prowess with being able to identify those isolated and reversed tracks are impressive.

  8. I bet doing a livestream is easier than editing videos everyday, once it’s already set up. Maybe a few live Friday posts are in the future, hint, hint. So much fun hanging out with friends.

  9. Looking forward to tonight. It’s hanging out with friends indeed.
See you in a while with style. Catch you later with flair.

      1. That’s true, it was kind of early for me, haven’t had my caffeine yet. πŸ™‚

  10. I sure hope i can joy the party tonight, as for now still in hospital after surgery, got good hopes of goiing home later on today

      1. Glad to hear you are well enough to leave the hospital Eric. See at the livestream, you are a trooper!

  11. Yes, it absolutely feels like sitting around the living room chatting with good friends, or maybe even family! See ya soon, macaroon! No…that won’t do…I’m allergic to coconut. See ya in a bit, peach pit!…No, that’s the part you throw away. πŸ€” How about ‘I’ll be there, Teddy Bear!’? 🧸🧸
