  1. I hope one day you will have the chance to see “LOVE” in Las Vegas, without a doubt you will love it. Thank you to have answer my questions. Merci

  2. I think it’s funny on my question about the tight quarters at the Cavern Club when Lisa says Mona always hit her with her guitar that Mona actually almost hits her with the Gretsch. Lisa’s charm always makes me smile and laugh but Mona can make me blow coffee out my nose, Lol. And if Woolgoose means an animal that can do everything then you chose the right name.

  3. Great answers as always, just love the cute jellyfish story – explains your love of caring for animals. Getting into Doctor Who might require serious time though as 2023 is it’s 60th anniversay! However if I’d pick one episode for you it would be “Vincent and the Doctor” as its about Vincent Van Gogh and his paintings (but beware as Lisa might shed a tear by the end) and it ties in with the Vincent song you both love. If you have the BBC iPlayer you can watch it there.

  4. Vielen Dank für die Antworten. Der Hinweis, wie man Untertitel in anderen Sprachen bei Youtube-Videos einstellen kann, war sehr hilfreich. Für mich, der ich weniger technikaffin bin, war das gut.

  5. Thanks for the wonderful video. I have to wonder how many people, even the ones who’ve heard your music, haven’t seen this side of you yet. So charming and funny, and smiling and positive. I love it, and I know the whole world will love it too when they see it.

Sorry Mona, I think Lisa can do anything too. So can you. I remember when I was growing up, my parents always told me I could do anything I set my mind to. I always said that to my own daughter, and I’ve always thought Papa Rudi and Michaela must have instilled that in both of you too.

You are both strong and determined, in addition to all your other talents.

    Which is awesome.

  6. Mona and Lisa, a bit behind here but love this Q and A segment. Wow great questions from all the club members and you both anwered them so nice and just love to have my coffee and listen to you both laugh and talk it brings a smile to my face!! Thanks so much and can’t wait for this Friday’s video. Hugs and love from me and Maddie

  7. As always, the two of you bring a smile to my face every week! I was on the long train ride home from Manhattan on Friday after a long week in the studio when I tuned in to this Q&A. I found myself laughing more than I probably should have on a packed train and got a few strange looks, but you made the commute so much more fun!

  8. I could watch you 2 talk 24/7! Hilarious! Thanks for all the insight, that was interesting about “That’s life” which is my favorite song off of Orange.

Some of the U.K.’s comedies are popular here in the states, Monty Python, The Young Ones, Faulty Towers, Mr. Bean and Benny Hill. I love all those shows!

I met the 60’s TV Batman Adam West back in 1989 at a local college. He was a really nice guy and built like a superhero too. He was a VERY funny man!

  9. Hey there. I always love your fun answers to the the variety of great questions from the Club (especially mine!)

Yes, we’ve been to Liverpool and back again already. We were there in mid-June with the Beatles Pilgramage Tour*. We stayed at the Hard Days Night hotel at the corner of North John St and Mathew St. Mathew street was so close, we ended up spending much of our time in the evenings at clubs there. We did spend some time down at the docks just taking it all in. We stopped into the Quay Confectionary for a few sweets to bring home, but other wise just walked the docks and the surrounding area. We also found a fantanstic little Italian restaurant (Casa Italia) just off the other end of Mathew Street that we ate at a couple of times while we were there. If we had known about Bond Street, we would certainly have taken a walk that way as well. Who knows what we would have found there?

I have to say, I really enjoyed what I was able to experience of Liverpool during our tour-packed four days there. I’m hoping to return there in the near future for a longer to see more of the sights in and around the city. Maybe we’ll make it down to Wales then as well.

*One of the leaders of the tour we were on noticed my MLT shirt and asked where I got it. I told him I won it in an MLT giveaway. He went on to tell me that you were on the tour at some time in the past. I think I’ll add a question about it for the next open Q&A. I’d love to hear what you thought about it!

  10. Hi ladies: thank you for answering not one but two of my questions! The one about ‘Aussie accents’ was prompted by my listening to a webcomic artist who has English about as good as yours and writes it quite well in her comic. She is French and had made several videos about her webcomic Kickstarters which is how we heard her voice. She was asked how she learned English, was it in school or what. Her dad got jobs in the U.S.and the family moved there for <seven> years, spending time in the Carolinas and Kentucky. How did she begin to learn English? “My parents drove me to the primary school that first day at age seven, dropped me off and said see you this afternoon. That was how I started to learn English!”

After that, she had a Q&A in which she answered my question as to why no Southern accent when she learned the language in Southern states? (HaHa—she doesn’t have much of a stereotypical French accent, either) Unfortunately she had no idea, saying in the years since her return to France at age 15—she is 33 now– one may just have worn off, so to speak. Again, my thanks.

    1. As someone who has lived in both Kentucky and North Carolina, I can attest that it’s possible largely to escape the regional accent if you’re in one of the bigger cities, which have a lot of immigrants from farther north.

  11. These sessions are always great!

Pete’s accent question reminded me of something I’ve noticed about how good the Twins language abilities have become. In the “Songbird – Behind the Scenes” video, Mona talks about the Panorama Mountain in Llangollen. When she says “Llangollen”, she switches from a UK accent to a Welsh accent in mid sentence. In my feeble attempt to be bi-lingual, I have found that switching accents in mid sentence is not an easy thing to do. The Twins seem to be able to do it in multiple languages.

You guys are indeed dangerous with those guitars (perhaps that’s why we always worry when you get out sharp knives to open packages). Lisa smacks the mike stand pretty hard in “Please Mr. Postman / Wipe Out”!

And finally, what a nice backdrop, with matching outfits of course.

    1. In their One More Time video (not the Cavern Club) Lisa knocks over the mike stand. I don’t know if it was planned or not, kind of funny though.

      1. Thanks Tim. I was going to go check it out but something has happened to the Twins youtube account. They started to disappear last night and today I get a message saying “This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated.”. Are you having the same issue?

      2. Dennis, check out the explanation the twins just posted on their Facebook page. (You don’t have to have a Facebook account to access it.)

      3. Dennis, the video could be This Boy Is Mine. It’s the one they do at club in Austria with their first bandmates. I get the 2 songs mixed up sometimes and I can’t check without the YouTube videos.

      4. It was “This Boy is Mine”, and it looks like it was Mona’s mike stand(??). Perhaps Mona hit this one. The camera is on Lisa when it happens. It’s also fun to watch Mona’s feet get the mike rocking to the beat in “Johnny B. Goode”.

      5. Yep, I watched it again too. It was Mona’s mike stand. By the look on Lisa’s face I think it was unscripted. One of those unexpected moments that turns out to be a fun part of the video.

      6. Thanks, Tim. I haven’t watched that one in a bit. It’s so kool.
I forgot about the mic stand. I was gonna say it looked scripted, but then I don’t know. Lisa is such a polished player I can see her pulling off complicated leads without missing a note, as the world hurls an array of distractions towards her. But then, they both have enough acting skills to pull it off. Lisa does look surprised, though. Ok, I just checked it out again. I think it was unexpected and they were able to work it into the performance. A couple kids in the audience look surprised, too.

        It’s almost Friday!

        JP

  12. Welcome back!🙂 Sorry to hear of the stress you went through with your house to sell it. I hope you still got to enjoy your time back in your home town and had some fond and beautiful memories. Glad you got a chance to get away for a while. Just the new stimulus from being away for a while always refreshes the creative juices and is good for the mental health.

Wow so many great questions, really enjoyed your responses to all of them. Your confidence for doing your music your way without being concerned with or relying on others like radio shows or interviews is so inspiring. Your beautiful music speaks for itself.

Loved the story of the creative things you did with the fountain pen cartridges. Your creativity from a young age never ceases to impress like your amazing art work and in everything you do. Thanks for a wonderful Q and A, really, really enjoy these weekly videos. 🧡

BTW thank you for sharing your favourite places in the UK.

  13. You two are hil-a-ri-us! Thanks for doing these Q&A’s. Those were some great questions. We are having trouble picturing the ink cartridge jellyfish apartment. Did you name them? Perhaps some things are better left a mystery.

    Marlo & JP

  14. I so look forward to your Friday videos. You bring a warmth and charm to your videos and this was such a fun session. I’ll never look at a fountain pen cartridge in the same way ever again!

  15. What a fun video, I was grinning and laughing through the whole thing. Thank you for answering all my questions. In a few of the Cavern Club videos I cringe when Mona swings her guitar towards Lisa. I’m thinking Lisa should have been wearing a hard hat and safety glasses. You two are so kind and considerate and so much fun to listen to. Thanks for spending time with us.

  16. What a great video again, those colours they make me joyfull, as well as your jokes and laughs, please please keep being groovy. You’ re an example for me. I seriously hope that in the nearby future you will perform live on stage, I would surely like to see you live and of course travel to Liverpool to visit this beatle/ mersey side town

  17. Hello ladies, I am always so happy to your you laugh, you MAKE MY DAY!!!!! Stay Groovy!!!! Oh, I thought you both were taller.

  18. My cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing the whole way through!
Thank you for the super fun video!
I hope you take some time to rest now that you’re back “home”.

  19. Mona & Lisa,

I watched your video this morning, but had work to do outside. So I watched it again tonight, and I love the way you two are NOT afraid to be silly & goofy! It’s so refreshing! Mona asked if we had comments about visiting Liverpool. Alright, I’m gonna date myself with my comments. DANG IT! I first went to Europe alone in 1982, visiting 15 countries. I did visit London, Liverpool & Edinburgh — all wonderful! I hit some clubs on Matthew St. at night, & was surprised that the Pubs closed around 10:30 pm or so!

At that time, the old Cavern Club was buried under a parking lot, which was very disappointing! But I took a “walking Beatle tour” on my own, and saw Ringo’s childhood home. The picture of it is on the cover of his “Sentimental Journey” album. There were two little boys outside there who wanted me to take their picture! Unfortunately I had an old camera, so I couldn’t show them the picture. I’ve heard that this old home has since been torn down! I remember seeing the gate at Strawberry Field, Paul’s old house, (which is now a museum,) & other Beatle places. I think I took a bus tour also. I visited the “Ye Crack,” where Lennon was rumored to have swam in spilled beer on the floor!

On our honeymoon in 1992, my wife & I were on a bus going by the Mount Pleasant Register Office in Liverpool. We learned that we had been married 30 years to the day after John & Cyn were married there in 1962! The Cavern Club was then open again to visit by 1991. We met two off-duty police officers at the “Pumphouse Pub,” by the Albert Docks, who were enjoying their drinking day! I asked how many pints they usually drank, & they said, “Oh, 10 or 11.” (I’m thinking WHHAAAT!!??, but didn’t say it.) They invited us out to Chinese food with their wives, & then to hear Irish Music on Matthew Street. Very nice people!

On our next trip with our daughter in 2008, we visited Ireland, Wales, England & France.
All of us being Beatle fans, of course we visited Liverpool and London again! We missed the last Beatle bus tour, BUT we got the best tour of all in a Taxi Cab! The driver was a Beatle expert, & we saw Eleanor Rigby’s Grave, and a pub that I think Stuart Sutcliffe’s family owned? (I tried looking it up, but didn’t find out anything about that.) We again visited one of the policemen’s homes in Dutton, near a boat canal.

We visited the “Cavern Walks,” & saw a band led by a guy who sounded a bit like Paul McCartney. We had a great time! Also, when we stayed in a B&B inside Conwy Castle in Wales, I inquired about a picture on the breakfast room wall. The owner’s son had graduated from the LIPA, (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.) On the stage were the graduating students, along with Paul McCartney!

I have more Beatle stories, but this is already too long. so I’ll end it! I hope that SOME of this might be interesting enough to someone to want to check out Liverpool for themselves!

Take care Mona, Lisa & all MLT Fans! — Bud

    1. Hi Bud, Wow that was a long one. You should write a novella. I enjoyed reading it.
Stu Sutcliffe was born in Scotland. I remember reading that Stu’s father, Charles, was a heavy drinker and was cruel to his wife, but I don’t know if they owned a pub???
Pete Best’s mom whose name was Mona (lol) Best owned the Casbah Coffee Club.
      Thanks, Bobby S. 🧛‍♂️😎

  20. Thank you for answering my question! Lisa, I agree, there is nothing that you can’t do, there’s nothing that you’re not good at, and there’s nothing that you’re not the pro!

I posted that quote in our dugout before our first game of the baseball season, and we ended up in first place. Clearly, there was a direct correlation between the quote and our outstanding season!

  21. Most enjoyable. Ya’ll really answered a lot of questions. I agree about Batman, it was campy. However, the disoriented sets were based on the silent film “Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.” About the MBT shoes, I used to wear them. It took some getting used to wearing them. And they had the opposite effect on me. They absorbed the stress on my arthritic back as I walked or if I stood for long time.
If I ever make it to UK, I would like to visit Cornwall. That’s where Poldark and Dr. Martin were filmed, and it looks so beautiful there. Peace be

  22. Hello Ladies!
What a fun video. Lots of interesting questions and answers. .. I’m wondering if you all would ever consider an Elton John song to cover? I remember you all saying that Lisa cried for a week or so when you all first got to Australia. I also see that Lisa has stopped sitting on pillows in O&As and WOTT. Lisa is now consistently shorter than Mona in videos lately.
Mona must be enjoying all that Fresh air “up there” 😆 🤣 😂
    Have a great week ladies.
    Best always.
    Ruck Ross

  23. Wow! Thank you for just being yourselves and answering all the questions so naturally and truthfully! This will date myself, but you are both so cool!

  24. Thanks for another awesome Q&A session! I just had to ask the Batman question because I remember Lisa vocalizing a bit of the old “Batman” theme song during the vlog you made of turning a pallet into a planter. I figured it wedged it’s way into her subconscious from somewhere! As for Dr. Who, I didn’t really expect any of you to be “Whovians”, but the pics in which you posed with the T.A.R.D.I.S. and a dalek were just what I needed today! You definitely don’t have enough idle time to try to catch up on Dr. Who episodes, even if you wanted to, but if you have a spare hour sometime I heartily endorse one particular episode entitled “Vincent and the Doctor”. It concerns Vincent van Gogh and is very well written and acted, and is quite touching. It pairs incredibly well with your “Starry, Starry Night” cover, and both remind me of each other. A million thanks for sharing this video with us, and I adore the jellyfish pen cartridge/nib cover food/paper apartment story! Such vivid imaginations in your youth is surely a big contributing factor to your amazing artistic creativity today!

  25. How can anyone not fall in love with these two? Another delightful Friday as always.
I would imagine that if these two angles had a 10 pound note for every marriage proposal they have turned down over the last 10 years they would be financially set for life.
They could build a State-of-the-Art recording studio in Liverpool. WoolGoose Studios – The Art of Perfection.
    Imagine That!

  26. Greetings,
Thanks for the very interesting Q&A video.
You are extremely kind to take the time to answer all sorts of questions from your fans. Who else would do that? I dunno?
Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend.
    Bobby S. 🧛‍♂️😎🧛‍♂️❤️

  27. Thanks for a boatload of Friday smiles and laughter! The Q&A’s are always so much fun and enlightening. So Lisa was born first but Mona is taller! Since Mona is taller does that diminish the fact the you are the elder. I am the oldest brother and with that I certainly had the older brother syndrome going on from time to time!
Hope you are safely back home!!

    1. Hi Dave,
The height issue got me thinking. I am the youngest of four in my family and I am the tallest, by far. I know of many families where the younger or youngest sibling is the taller one. WHY?
I don’t know why, it just seems to happen many times. Take care,
      Bobby S.

      1. There seems to be some agreement on the topic of off-spring getting taller after each child. I’m still waiting for an answer as to whether Mona or Lisa picks up the pace rocking chair talk about sibling rivalry 😂) I believe in “Two of Us”.

  28. I sat down to watch this video at 6pm and I have spent the last half hour or so smiling and laughing with you Mona and Lisa, you are so infectious!!. To make it even better you read my question out. Keep up the good work xx

  29. Hiya, Thankyou for this installment video of ” Misc. Ask MLT Q & A ” , thoroughly enjoyed your answers and awesome Qs asked, and learning some new things along the way….

I’m about a foot shorter than you both as I’m hovering around the 4 foot 6 inches (4’6″) in height, not sure what that is centimeters/meters, and I wear kids size of 4 in boots/shoes and am able now to finally fit into some but not all ladies size 5 in boots and shoes but must look for non themed stuff, after all, I’m in my mid 50s, don’t wish to be wearing kiddy themed shoes/stuff as I’ll get mistaken for a kid ( which occurs often because I don’t look my age either , besides being short and that annoys/irritates/a tad insulting to me as I don’t get taken seriously sometimes, etc as a result and therefore not treated as an an adult, unfortunately )

I used to watch the reruns of the old 60s Batman TV show, and always loved the Batmobile , and my 2nd oldest brother had a Batomobile toy car, that I enjoyed playing with ( yes, call me a tomboy sort of, as I enjoyed playing more with my older brothers toys than my own…lol )

Made my Friday you did with this, safe travels back to UK …😊🤘🌞

  30. I love these. Never fails to have me grinning from ear to ear. Thanks for the wonderful start to the weekend! 🙂

  31. Another great video! I always enjoy the fun facts, this one was great because it got the long overdue belly laugh from Mona! We’ve seen Lisa belly laugh from the “do you think your sister is pretty “ question before🤣. See, there are many things about you we don’t know, nothing is too trivial or silly. We are all just people.

    1. Hi Tim,
Correction if I may – not all of us are people lol.
I am from the Underworld, but please don’t tell everyone. Thanks,
      Bobby S. 🧛‍♂️🧛‍♂️🧛‍♂️

  32. Hi Mona and Lisa
Really cool video – your happy mood is contagious – smiling and laughing out loud when we watch.
    Thank you very much…🤩🤩
