A Trip To The Australian Outback – Photos

In our previous Australia post, you saw us snorkelling with Nemo and frolicking through the lush rainforests on the tropical east coast of the continent.

Of course, Australia is equally known for its bone-dry counterpart, the Outback …

When we set out on this student exchange in 2009 our homesickness was always kept at bay by the fact that we knew our parents were going to visit us during the holidays halfway though our 6-month stay. They decided to rent a caravan in Sydney a week before our school holiday started and do some exploring and travelling along the coast themselves before meeting us in Adelaide to join forces.

We were so excited to see them again and show them what our lives have been like for the last few months. We were living with two separate host families at the time and couldn’t wait to introduce them to our real family. πŸ™‚

After a few days of talking our mouths off, showing them around everywhere and hanging out with a now extra-large family we jumped into the RV and set out to explore the Outback with Dad and our stepmum Michaela.

We visited miner towns like Coober Pedy, soaked in the absolute dead silence of the Outback at night and of course had to spend some time at the famous Ayers Rock / Uluru, where we even filmed 2 videos, covers of 8 Days a Week and I’m Yours.

A trip we will never ever forget and a great way to finish the Australian chapter here in the MLT Club archives. We hope you enjoyed the pictures and going on this virtual exploration with us β™₯
