Barmouth – Photos

Drawn to the sea …

Austria is a completely landlocked country, so if we ever went to the sea as kids it had to be during school holidays and usually involved a plane trip or at least spending a few hours in a hot car.

Now we’re able to enjoy the British coast line pretty much whenever we want to. Granted, it’s not quite the same as our memories from Italy, Croatia, Greece or even Australia and California, but there is something uniquely calming about the wild Irish Sea here on the West Coast of the UK.

A few weeks ago we decided to take a trip to Barmouth, a beautiful historic seaside town in Northern Wales, and some of the surrounding hiking locations.

We stayed overnight and camped in our sleeping bags under the clear night’s sky. It was such a lovely, recharging trip, and as per usual, we brought along a camera or two …

  4. What a peaceful, tranquil place. Some really good pictures of all of you. I really like the one of Rudi and Michaela on the bench.
I see Rudi taking pictures on the Sheep. Thinking about Lamb Chops perhaps? ????
Glad you all got recharged. Thanks for the Gorgeous pictures.

  5. Once again you have whisked me away to a breathtakingly beautiful new world and a new adventure! And there isn’t anyone I would want to enjoy it with more than the Wagner family. You are incredible photographers and equally incredible and beautiful photographic subjects. The beauty of the images you photograph is only equaled by the feeling of affection and kinship amongst the four of you which is also being conveyed. I really can’t thank you enough for your generosity in sharing these treasures. BTW, I wish you would seriously consider posting the photographic images here and throughout your website for sale as individual downloads. There are so many I would like to print and frame. Beautiful music and beautiful photography created by beautiful people.

  8. Thank you for sharing these wonderful and lovely pictures of your trip. As I mentioned before this is like family to me, when you go on vacations and come home to share with the family, and that is what it feels like to me when you are kind enough to share with us. This club is so nice and I look forward each time to check in and see things like this or a new video or what’s on the table segments and I can not imagine no one else doing this with their fans and we are all connected with this club that make it special also to meet so many great people and learn about different things that I never knew or had the chance to talk or see. I don’t think I will ever have the opportunity to visit places like this but thanks to you both and Pa and Michella I can see the beauty that is out there in this world. Also this is a learning tool for Maddie who is 8 and she can see the beauty out there. So thank you so much for sharing and staying groovy!

  9. Some really nice pictures in a beautiful area. The picture taking talent seems to run in the family, lots of nice shots all around. Thanks for sharing these.

  10. Nice! I always enjoy it when you want to share home movies and slide shows. These photos are incredible. You all have a true talent at capturing the perfect moment in time. I feel like I am looking at a travel magazine. They really look nice on our big screen.

Camping under the stars is what I call real camping. We used to enjoy that a lot when I wore a younger man’s clothes. It is so relaxing to be snuggled up in a sleeping bag and lulled to sleep by the sounds of nature’s silence. Although nature isn’t too silent here. As soon as it gets dark this time of the year, there is a constant hum of peepers, crickets, and various other critters just out the front door. I call it Catskill White Noise.

I like the picture of Mona, Michaela, and Lisa sitting together. These candid shots are awesome.

You pick some of the nicest locations to recharge. The landscape is breath taking. I am glad you had a chance to get away and unwind. And thanks again for sharing your adventures with us.

  11. I’ve wanted to visit the UK for a very long time now, and every time I come up with somewhere I’d like to visit, you post photos of your trip there. Lake District, Irish Sea, London…I guess when I get there I’ll have to embark upon the MLT Re-enactment Tour! Great photos, thanks for sharing!

  12. Wow, your family outing/outdoors slide shows are not only remarkable for all the beauty of nature and each other you capture, but the photographic artistry! Absolutely love it, and love seeing Lisa and Papa Rudi with your impressive camera gears! The scenery in England/Wales you live is so different from the Pacific Northwest and Westcoast where I am, it is fascinating and charming. It looks like you get the moss like we do where I am. My favourite photos has to be with Mona waking up in the sleeping bag, and both Mona and Lisa walking around in your sleeping bags in the morning! πŸ™‚ So cool to see you all camping out in the open air like that, hope the starry night was just as beautiful.

Thanks so much for this, as just like with your wonderful music, you let me escape into another beautiful and enchanting place through you photographs here. Thanks for taking us with you like that, enjoyed it very very much. πŸ™‚

  13. Thank you for uploading your trip, I always loved when I was in south Texas and my Grandfather had a place at South Padre Island and we use to watch all the College kids on Spring break. I learned a lot or saw a lot of what you should not be doing. That is so beautiful where you were. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

  14. Whoa, absolutely stunning photos, of yiu all, Barmouth area, wow, what an exquisite tranquil place to explore, thoroughly and immensely enjoy all the sights, you captured, felt like I was along too with you on the trip. My faves are the the family shots, sheep on roof at ice cream parlor place, sheep out in pasture, well all of it but those stand out as my faves that I mentioned. You have the innate gift of picking out the perfect locations for get aways, to sleep literally under the stars and moon, almost unheard of, so happy you had the opportunity to take this trip and let nature rejuvenate you all, Kudos and Thankyou and Appreciate the sharing of your trip with us all here ????????

  15. Photos are exquisitely lovely – and the pictures of the countryside are great too! So nice to see a super family enjoying time together in these beautiful settings. You have a great knack for making your club members feel as if we’ve been on the trip with you. Wonderful area with so many things to see and do in just a couple days. Nice to see Michaela and Rudi making memories together with my favorites. Thanks for sharing and bringing us along such beautiful places.

  16. I am convinced that any picture you are in is automatically a good one. Your smiles can change the world, I know they changed mine. Thank you for sharing another one of your adventures, I always enjoy them.
