BBC Radio Merseyside – On Air with Mike Byrne – Radio Performance/Interview

On BBC Radio Merseyside with Mike Byrne

In preparation for an upcoming show with Mike Byrne …

… we went live on BBC Radio Merseyside and performed two songs together on a chilly November Billy Butler’s morning show. Mike Byrne is a veteran of Liverpool’s music scene and has been performing professionally for over 50 years! Here you can hear us play “Unchain My Heart” and “That’s All Right, Mama” together live at the studio!

Mike or “The Wizard of the Keyboard” is not only a very skilled musician, he is also the one responsible for “The Beatles Story” – The world’s largest Beatles museum in Liverpool that he and his wife Bernie (who dated George Harrison for a while) opened in 1990.

We had a great time playing with him and his band “Mike Byrne and the Sunrockers” a week after the interview and to share the evening at a lovely venue in Formby, not far from Liverpool.

Stay groovy,Mona & Lisa

  1. You are the best live performers since the Beatles at the BBC!
How lucky for that show to have you on! Loved the Elvis cover, just like back at Sun Records in Memphis
Keep spreading your great energy and life force – you are awesome!

  2. You have had an amazing journey since you settled in England. I never cease to be amazed at just how resourceful you are at spreading your awesome love of music as far and wide as possible. I don’t know where you get the energy from and hope it never leaves you, even though at my age I’m exhausted just trying to keep up vicariously on the web. Thank you for sharing so much love around. The world is such a better place for the MLT being in it!
