A Daytrip To BBC Radio Stoke – James Watt 2014 – Radio Interview

Trying Fudge, Liverpudlian Stereotypes and Music … on air!

We had nearly forgotten about this radio interview back in 2014 on BBC Radio Stoke with James Watt but are glad we came across this recording again last week! It just had to go into the radio archives here at the Club 🙂

When we found it again the memories came flooding back from our day in Stoke-On-Trent. We took the train there to promote our upcoming show at the “Middle Of Nowhere Festival” (happening close by the radio station) later that summer and evidentally to try out some UK candy too.

Here is what happened on the show  …

LISTEN: 2014/06/25 BBC Radio Stoke – James Watt

To hear us play some songs live at the studio you can skip to:
05:10 – June
11:00 – When I’m Sixty-Four

We were still rookies in the UK, it had been only 3 months since we had moved to Liverpool so we were only just getting used to the English language – cleary noticeable by the amount of jokes that went straight over our heads in that conversation! 🙂

Grab some tea and fudge and we hope you enjoy this little clip.

  1. You two are smart, interesting, and funny. I like when you laugh, and love hearing you play and sing. So much talent and so fun and easy to love,

  2. I make fudge at Xmas for my family… Lol… It’s legendary and a tradition… One year I didn’t make it… So… Every year it is made ????????… I enjoyed this interview and the photos… Thankyou for sharing????????????❤️????????????????????????️????????????

  3. Love all these shows. Even though they may not be technically perfect, they are still fantastic in the simplest of forms and have that genuine MLT essence in the forefront that just can’t be beat.

  4. Enjoyed this one very much.
What girl doesn’t like Chocolate? And when its fudge even better.
James even got Leeza’s name pronunciation correct. ????
Loved your Acoustic versions very much. Thanks for sharing Ladies.

  5. Always enjoy your radio interviews, you both carry yourself so well on those. Loved the singing on June and When I’m 64 was stellar. It’s interesting what you said about German and how it is a more aggressive sounding language for singing. I really like how you sound when you sing in German like in Leise Rieselt Der Schee, Aufstehn, and Der Kommissar.

  6. Just divine Mona and Lisa. A real treat to listen to the interview and songs again. Your accents were much broader back then. Please don’t lose it completely. Hope you haven’t had your car nicked!

  7. That was fun! “June” is one of my many favorites of yours. Hard to believe it’s been almost 5 years since that interview.
