BBC Radio Wiltshire with Sue Davies – Radio Interview

A Stop At BBC Radio Wiltshire Before Our 1st UK Band Gig

We had only moved to the UK three months prior and were on the way to our first ever festival gig on British soil, when we stopped by at BBC Radio Wiltshire to have a chat with radio host Sue Davies.

A warm welcome from a beautiful part of the country. The weather was absolutely gorgeous that day too, so our live radio performance of “I Don’t Know Birds That Well” fit the occasion perfectly:

After that lovely half hour at the BBC studio we made our way to “The Marlborough Pub” in, you guessed it, Marlborough which is a gorgeous old little town in the south of England.

The gig we played there was on one of the acoustic stages of the “Marlborough Jazz Festival” in June 2014, with only a Cajon for drums but it was a successful and worthy kick-off to two years of extensive live playing that followed afterwards. After two years of live shows back in Austria (whose audiences are known for not being very interactive with acts) we appreciated the cheerfulness of British audiences.

For us it’s always fanscinating how those seemingly small steps over time accumulate to a life story that got us where we are today, with a long road still ahead … that’s life, and we love sharing it with you all at the MLT Club 🙂

Stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

  1. Always so lovely to hear you performing acoustic numbers like this ladies. Your cute Austrian accents were a little more noticeable back then in this interview.

  2. Love the radio recording. I had not heard this one.
Yes, you “harmonize” beautifully. And, you played and harmonized one of my favorite originals beautifully.
I don’t know birds, or a lot of other things, that well. But, I do know that I love The MonaLisa-Twins! ☺

  3. I really love your acoustic versions of songs you’ve done on radio interviews like this, including this one of “I don’t know birds that well”. Your two voices with two guitars are magic when they come together.

  4. Another great version of “I Don’t Know Birds That Well” and I love the top photo! You girls can never take a bad picture!
