It was good to be back!

We talked to Edd who hosts the “Beatledd Fab Four Hour” on WRKC-FM, 88.5 in Pennsylvania (and world-wide online, of course). It was a very fun, quick paced interview with lots of music!

We go over 9 songs off our “Live at the Cavern Club” album and discuss the song choices and answer some questions.

  1. By hook or by crook, and the efforts of people like Beatledd, the MonaLisa Twins will eventually become a household name.
And what a trip! to find George Harrison’s It’s All Too Much at the end. This was one of the Beatles somewhat lesser known, but stellar contributions to the psychedelic repertoire.

  2. I really enjoyed this radio program…a few months ago I heard the BeatleRama show on some radio station via YouTube…I wish there were more stations playing MLT material….it’s tough getting the word out and every little bit helps.

  3. I live on the other side of the state closer to Pittsburgh so I cannot pick this station up by radio but now that I know that Mona & Lisa can be heard on it I will try and find this program on the internet. Another great job by the ladies, their charm and smiles are heard throughout the show. Tell Me Why and This Boy are 2 of my favorites done by the Beatles and by Mona & Lisa. And everyone loves Please Mister Postman/ Wipeout

  4. So proud to be an MLT club member to get these special occasions and extra doses of Mona and Lisa. Your class and talent are so great on display here – thanks for sharing!

  5. Like Jacki, I also missed the original airing and was happy to see it posted. Edd chose a few of my favorites from the album. Looking forward to more of these in the future.

  6. Edd did a terrific job interviewing the tremendously talented and truly tantalizing Twins. These interviews not only showcase your amazing music, they also give the audience a taste of your charismatic personalities -something that we Club members get treated to every time you do a WOTT, or livestream, or other real life interaction. I always love watching and listening to you talk about your art and adventures. Thanks for sharing!

  7. Thanks for posting this. I tuned in that night when you tweeted about it, but I did not hear all of it. This was fun. Edd is a great host. He sounds like a real fan. It was a great sampling of your music.

  8. Thanks to Beatledd for playing so many MLT tunes! Great that you girls are getting some airplay over here! I don’t listen to much radio anymore, there is just way too many commercials now a days, it drives me nuts.

  9. That was a ton of fun! I agree with Jung; “squishing” songs together is just too darned adorable! I hope someday, another informal rehearsal results in some other squishing of songs we ordinary humans would never consider combining. The MLT artistic minds are indeed unique, incredibly special, and eccentric in the most flattering sense of the word possible!

  10. Mona and Lisa,
I am from Pennsylvania and never heard of this station, but going to try and get it. This interview was awesome and loved listening to you both discuss this great album of yours. One song that I really love ( although all the songs are great to me) is Kansas City. Lisa you really give it your all on this number, and when you say ” alright” right before your lead is so cool to listen to and this song has so much energy it is great.

  11. Your radio interviews are always so enjoyable, and when they also play so many of your songs too, it just doesn’t get better. Loved hearing about how you just played around improvising and came up with “squishing” (love it) Wipe Out with Please Mr Postman together, a great unexpected surprise indeed! Your singing though of Mr Postman is just very, very special and full of emotions and longing, so irresistible. You made it sound so good!!!! You captured it so perfectly. And you did it with all the songs on the live album, every single track is stellar! Thanks for posting this, was really fun! 🙂

  12. Awesome, Fab, enjoyed listening to this, Edd certainly was very #MLTBuzzLuvGroovified enthusiastic in 5alking with you and I really loved your answers to his questions, and we all learned some too. Perfect song choice to boot… A humdinger interview, Thankyou for sharing, as I missed out on it originally when it had aired. My Tuesday was made fab today ????????

  13. This is delightful! I wish one of those nationally syndicated radio programs, like the old Super Gold show with Mike Harvey, would give MLT this sort of exposure.

For the record, Please Mr. Postman was a #1 U.S. hit for the Marvelettes in 1961, so there’s a second MLT song that was originally recorded by women.

    1. Oh that’s right, how could we miss that one! We’re currently not putting much effort into trying to get radio exposure but we’ll keep the name Mike Harvey in mind!

    2. Oh, and there’s also Both Sides Now, Mercedes Benz, and (partially) California Dreamin’. Funny how once MLT covers a song, one tends to forget details about the original.
