Birthday Update!
We dodged the 27 Club …
And celebrated our 28th birthday yesterday! It was the hottest day of the year so far, which in the UK just means a wonderful 28°C (82°F), and we loved every second of it.
Of course, the many messages we received from you throughout the day made it even better, so we want to say a genuine thank you for all the love. It never fails to blow us away.
For today, we initially planned on filming a present-unboxing video of all the things you crazy people sent us (just like last year) but got notified that there are quite a few parcels that are still in transit and will probably arrive within the next few days.
We decided to film it next week instead so we can thank everyone properly! 🙂
Today we just want to check in with a quick update, hello and a big “Thank You” already.
Also, please make sure to submit any more “Twin Life” related questions here (if you have any) because we are planning on filming that themed Q&A in the next couple of weeks, too. The two of us have spent 28 years closely together, so there is a lot to talk about! 🙂

I missed that sweeties! Happy Happy… Belated as it is! I was going to comment on “being a twin’ because I have aunt’s that are twins! The only ay we could tell them apart mostly was since one had swallowed a safety pin, she wad scarred on her throat!! And the other ran into a patio glass and hers was on her wrist!! It’s a family thing!! lol Happy Rockin’ On to ya’s!! 🙂

Happy Birthday! It appears from the video you had a good one. It’s kind of neat that your birthday is close to Sir Paul’s. I would’ve been surprised if you hadn’t escaped the 27 Club; you seem so wholesome, and that really didn’t apply to many in the club.
As for twin questions, it would be interesting to know if you ever dated twins, and, if so, how it turned out..

I just realized you were almost born on Sir Paul’s birthday. He’s 80 the day after you turned 28! Speaking of the hot weather, we’re in the middle of some in NW Illinois and much of this part of the country. It got to 97 degrees F one day last week. Next week forecasts two 96 degree days. Pleasant for a couple days in between, especially tomorrow at about 75. Great timing, as my family is taking a two-hour drive memorial trip to one of my Dad’s favorite places. He passed peacefully this past Wednesday night surrounded by family. He was 92 and had dementia but his mind was clear as he and we exchanged loving goodbyes. So don’t feel sorry for us. No regrets! Oh, and MLT music and videos were a HUGE source of joy for him in his last year or so!
My condolences, Jeffery. My dad is 89 and suffering from major heart failure. He’ll be entering hospice care on Monday, so I can completely empathize with what you’re going through.
Hope everything will be OK with your dad David. Will keep you and your dad in my thoughts. All the best.

Thank you, Lisa! We feel truly blessed how things went at the end, and the memorial trip my family took couldn’t have been more special! We all felt his loving presence with us and know we’ll all be together again someday. A special thanks to you and all of team MLT for what you and your music meant to him!

Thanks, JP. Yes, definitely, and yes, definitely! The eight of us felt and feel a more intimate bond with each other and Dad due to the trip. Just what we needed and no doubt a joy for Dad, too! Small but close family drawn even closer, if that’s possible!

I hope you had a great birthday yesterday. You two deserve the best of things. I remember 28 barely. It was when I married Laura and we have been together now for 40 years come June 20. Also, we in the states have noticed that today is Sir Paul’s birthday…..so you three are close on birthdays. This weekend we only have a little planned. Tonight we go to an outside place for dinner and live music performed by people in the local area here in the mountains of NC. So, they will be playing country, bluegrass, and folk mostly. The dinner is not free but the music is except for the ‘tip jar’. One of these days we might play if we can ever get around to planning a few songs. Also, this weekend we will be still unpacking in our North Carolina mountain home. We also have a home in the mountains of West Virginia. Come August we get to unpack there, too. So times are busy, but retirement is working out pretty well.

Mine is in the winter so it is not really the same I wish I had a summer birthday. We are just going to hang out at the house this weekend, catch up on some reading. I like sitting out on my porch and getting into a good book. In the evenings we jump into the hot tub. We just got it in March and I would recommend one to anyone! I wish I had some of your birthday cake. What kind is it?

We didn’t have a classic “birthday cake” in that sense but shared a huge Apfelstrudel (apple strudel), a typically Austrian dessert. It’s great with custard and we’ve still got some left in the fridge so I’m already looking forward to having the last piece tomorrow morning 🙂

This Sunday will be my 68th birthday. That day is also Father’s Day (at least in the USA), so my children and grandchildren will be here with me making sure that I am adequately celebrated. I will still try to limit myself to one piece of cake!

Thai food eh, that sounds great, one of my favourite cuisines, can’t get enough of the spicy Thai coconut soups. Really happy to see you pass the Club 27, and what an impressive year 27 you had, and again wishing you all the absolute best for your 28th year, may it be the best ever. I believe Sir Paul McCartney will be celebrating his birthday tomorrow on the 18th, and Brian Wilson on the 20th. Love how your birthdays are stacked right next to the other two music legends.
I received a glimmer of hope for a new career opportunity to even greener pastures a couple of days ago, so really feeling good and crossing my fingers.

I hear a heat wave is happening your way, enjoy and stay cool. In contrast to last years historic record breaking heat wave we had in western Canada, it’s the coolest and wettest May/June on record. It sounds like the two of you had a fantastic birthday, especially your dinner! It is nice that you are waiting to open your cards and gifts. It helps turn your birthday into a birthday month or, at least, a birthday week!
We would have been pleased with an 82 degree (F) day yesterday. It was 90 in Western New York State and my Air Conditioning system broke down. Oh well, get to take today off while it is being replaced. My 14 1/2 year old beagle is not enjoying the heat, so replacement of the A/C unit is vital for my lil’ baby dog!

Aw, thank you for that kind comment. I hope your dog (and you!) have the A/C back by now. Our parents owned a Beagle when we were just babies. We don’t remember him first hand unfortunately, but there are a few photos 🙂

Heat wave in England. Of course this means rain all morning here in Scotland – the sun is just sneaking out now! (max of 19 degrees this week as well). I always knew you would escape the 27 curse – never in doubt. Must be hard to refrain from opening your gifts though but if it’s anything like Christmas you will get some lovely presents and cards – and never any duplicates (which amazes me!). That was cool… I’m glad you had a nice birthday, whatever /however you enjoyed doing on you day, and believe you me, it was frikkin humid hot yesterday , nearing +40 with humidity and a wicked Thunderstorm had rolled through my area ( Thankfully not turned into a Tornado like a few wks back – some local folks still cleaning up their yards , and all power restored over the last week or two, I was lucky, I had power, was not affected but felt badly for those that were )

So glad the weather was nice for your birthday Mona and Lisa! In Pittsburgh the last couple day it was hot 90 plus degrees but today it will drop a bit to the lower 80’s.
