99.7 Bridge FM Australia – Radio Interview

Checking in with the Aussies  …

Every week we are sending more and more CDs to down-under, and we are very happy to see our Australian audience growing so quickly (Hello to all Aussie MLT Club Members!). So we thought it only fitting to add a relatively new radio interview to the archives today.

Suzy and Johnny from the Australian Community Radio 99.7 Bridge FM in Redcliffe, Queensland got in touch recently and did a little interview with us over Skype. We’ve had a lovely chat, and they played lots of MLT music to introduce their listeners to our music. We thank them very much for spreading the word and helping our music reach this beautiful corner of the world.

We hope you’ll all enjoy the interview:

We can’t help but reminisce about our time in Australia whenever we hear those accents. It’s been 11 years since our 6-month stay in Adelaide and we hope it won’t be another 11 before we get a chance to come back.

We’ve got to freshen up our Aussie slang because as you can hear we are very rusty! 🙂

We hope you’re well and groovy,
Mona & Lisa

  1. My spirit soars every time I hear you being “discovered” by new listeners who cannot help to be instantly converted to new fans. I could listen to you talk all day long -but alas, there wouldn’t be any time left to listen to your epic music. Love ya, mates!

  2. Which one is the blonde? I can now say I can tell you apart by the difference of your voices.
Your original songs are timeless, you’ll being playing for children of the king for sure. These interviews are great for new fans. You are both very good at retelling your story. I am sure answering the same questions can get..you always sound like it is the first time you have been asked about your beginnings. Kudos for keeping it so fresh, and groovy.

    Yes, guitar is an upgrade

  3. That certainly was an enjoyable interview, both hosts quite enthusiastic, and interesting to pickup up on Aussie lingo, I’ve never heard before….(only familiar with the odd Aussie terms I’ve heard while watching a few Australian based movies and from/Australian actors/actresses in interviews over the years, the Fosters Lager tv ads, The late Steve Irwin, etc…
The questions asked and your replies made for an interesting and informative interview . The stories shared, got a chuckle…it was as though you were all catching up with each other after not seeing each other in ages….Always enjoy your perspectives. I loved the song choices played . Here’s hoping the airwaves garnered a few more Aussie MLTBuzzLuvGroovies,…Kudos to 99.7 Bridge FM Radio for a fab chat with you…Well done…??????

    1. My typo apologies…should of said: 99.7 Bridge FM Australia Radio….time for my brain, eyes to get to bed?…Thankyou Team MLT for sharing this ?

  4. Strewth, that was bonza 😀
3 quick lessons in talking Strine (Australian) – 1: Talk through ya nose, 2: Rising inflection at the end of a sentence, like asking a question, 3: Shorten words as much as possible, often by adding a vowel at the end –
“Wanna bikky (biscuit/cookie) with yer cuppa?”
“No, ta, oive put on 10 kilos since the ‘rona started!”
Anyway, good to hear you haven’t acquired a Scowse accent in your 6 years in Luvverpehrl ;p

  5. Wow what a fantastic Interview! I enjoyed listening and love the stories you shared with us. I agree the music helps get us thru this crazy world with the problems facing all of us. I was coming home today from work and like everyone else, filled with stress and deadlines etc, but I put on the Duo Sessions album and just hearing the lovely voices is heaven to me. You both make all of days filled with hope and love and spirit with you music and positive attitude. So uplifting. A big shout out for the Duo Sessions album, wow all the tracks are great and how they line up from 1 to 15 is awesome. So if their is a new album, I say it is worth the wait, no need to rush, your music and videos is worth waiting for because they are all quality and the best! Second to none in my book, been listening since 2018 and have not looked back but a head to see what journey you both take and I can speak for the club members, we will be with you and support you all the way!! It is wonderful to have two great ladies and musicians in this world to say, hey we got this and come along for the ride. So thanks Mona and Lisa and as always STAY GROOVY!!!!!

  6. Thanks for the interview.
I agree that “upgrading” from bass to guitar is questionable, but from drummer to musician is definitely an upgrade 🙂

Oh, and we don’t have an accent. You guys do!

    1. Hmm! I think Mona and Ringo might have something to say about that one Darryl. And my beautiful niece too, who is also a drummer!

  7. Strewth mate, that was a really bonza Interview with those cool dudes.

I always like your radio interviews and it was particularly nice to hear this one from Redcliffe, a bay suburb in my hometown of Brisbane.

Yes, many people seem to be underwhelmed when they see the Mona Lisa painting, but never when they first see a MonaLisa Twins video. Thanks for sharing this interview with us. ?❤️

  8. Hi Mona, Hi Lisa., I realy like your radios interviews. I love listening to you and your accent., when you sing the accent disappears., I don’t speak English very well yet., but I can uderstand part of what you say..I love your stories.. nice interview.. Thanks.. and Stay groovy

  9. Very nice interview! I love listening to you reminisce about what was and what’s to come! I hope when you return to Australia you make a few stops in the United States (especially Milwaukee Wisconsin!) Stay groovy and we’ll keep listening and loving you!

  10. That was super BONZA! So awesome to hear you both on the airwaves again, and thankful to Suzy and Johnny in Australia for enabling this wonderful interview and playing your music on their station. Love these interviews for all the insight into your music and and life. I’m no guitar player, but got a chuckle about the upgrade from playing bass to guitar! 🙂 Your interviews are always so fun, and witty, always love them. I have no doubt you will both be remembered as legendary songwriters, singers and musicians and your music will be known and loved throughout the world. Thanks for posting this interview, thoroughly enjoyed it!

  11. Love hearing you ladies – I’m very glad you kept your fabulous Austrian accents! I appreciate how much the radio hosts were big fans as well. You deserve every success and happiness!

  12. I loved this ladies!
    Such a great interview.
You all mentioned the Mona Lisa painting by Leonardo DeVici, the painting itself is 11×14, has been stolen many times, has 22 different alarms to guard it 24/7, and you can get no closer than about 6 feet. ( information from my daughter Maria, who saw it a few years back.)
I my self have always hoped you would be big stars, to me you are. I’m amazed and honored that I get to speak with you, and am blown away to receive responses from you?
I don’t think you are good song writers, I think you are Great Song Writers! Your music is amazing
I am continually amazed and Flabbergasted as to all you have and continue to accomplish.
Thanks so much for sharing this ladies. Thoroughly enjoyed myself. ?❤
