Dreams – Behind The Scenes Video

I’d Never Give A Dream Away …

But we do want to give away how we shot the music video for this song off our debut album “When We’re Together”. If you don’t know the song or the finished video yet, you might want to scroll to the bottom of this page and watch it first before diving into the making-of.

Besides “I Don’t Know Birds That Well” and “When We’re Together” we filmed yet another video during our stay in London in 2013: “Dreams”.

To squeeze in three complete music video shoots as well as a whole bunch of live playing and radio interviews in just five weeks was only possible with good time planning and merging a lot of our activities.

For example, we combined every trip around town and the countryside as well as our little bits of sightseeing with filming material for the video. That meant that when we went to see “Trooping The Colour”, the Queen’s birthday bash at the Buckingham Palace, we came all dressed up – in pyjamas and slippers. We also dared to bring an extra guest, Lisa’s best childhood friend and soft toy “Lampibampi”. Equipped with a camera we were pulling “Lampibampi” through town, went on the tube, took it swimming and looked after it like we would look after our most precious dreams. There aren’t many things in this world we’d hate losing more than the little lamb that has kept us company since we were babies.

It takes a lot to stand out in London but by walking through the financial district in slippers and PJ’s, quietly talking to a stuffed animal that looks about a hundred years old, definitely pushed us over the line of blending in with the crowd.

A big thank you to our friends Tom and Dagmar for allowing us to shoot the opening scene in their ‘dizzy-height’ apartment. And thank you to the good-natured cop for allowing us to shoot a scene “just one more time, please!” in the middle of a busy train station. Thanks to everyone who patiently waited for us to cross a bridge or pretty house front instead of just walking into the frame, too πŸ˜‰

And of course, thanks to Dad and Michaela for the great team-work and for sitting next to two homeless looking, frizzy haired girls on all the tube journeys.

I’d never give a dream away
Not even for a day
Won’t let my life fade to grey
No matter what they say

Love,
Mona & Lisa

  1. I hope you make this a public video. After people here have seen this . It’s great! I really love your behind the scenes scenes in your videos. They never get sad many views as the actual video but they are so intriguing.

  2. “Dreams” is such a great song and video. I felt from the beginning that the little “Lampibampi” was a childhood toy. I enjoyed the trek through London, pulling the car on a string, but I was surprised at your final destination, a muddy lot? It was still fantastic and I watch it often. Thanks so much for revealing “behind the scenes”.

  3. One of my favorite of your original songs. Love the bass line on it. It’s so melodic and clever. The video has such a lovely quirkiness to it. I watch it all the time when going through the original song videos. Thanks ladies.

  4. Love these behind the scenes videos. “Lampibampi” was a great addition to the video! And with dad and Michaela nearby no one would bother you girls while filming. Well done and great tune!

  5. Quirky yet beautiful… A beautiful kinda Quirky…. Hey it’s okay to be in PJs for a day… No matter what they say… It’s OK…. If the folks didn’t like it they could walk or look the other way… Your feelings won’t go astray…
    Lampibampi ‘s Guest Appearance… Yay????????✌️????????????❀️????????

  6. From Ayers Rock in Australia to London, “Lampibampi” sure gets around. You’ve got to include him in a future video πŸ™‚ Dreams is one of my fave songs off the debut album, so very dreamy and soothing. Incredible song writing and artistry shine I think in this song.
Love the melancholic rythm. Great video!
