Any Other Day – Early Access (Video)

Official Release Date: 21 February 2023

This video will be officially released next Tuesday, on the birthday of a friend of ours who passed away several years ago. He always believed in our music and supported our journey immensely.

We picked what we thought might have been his favourite song off the new album and are going to officially release it on his birthday on the 21st. It’s a tradition we’ve kept up for several years now and one we look forward to every year. We hope he would have liked it and we hope all of you do, too!

We filmed this video on Monday morning in the beautiful city of Chester about 30 minutes south of Liverpool. We love the architecture there with its half-timbered houses and impressive city walls. The pigeons were a nice bonus and we made sure to send our regards from Trudy, our pet pigeon. 🙂

We also made some new “Studio Scribbles” for the song! We couldn’t find too many scraps from the writing process so we decided to just re-write the whole lyrics on a blank sheet of paper and keep it simple and clean. We thought it kind of fitted with the song anyway 🙂

As always, they will be numbered (1-100) and signed by us.

Please note: We have had major postal troubles here in the UK, and if you live abroad and have ordered anything with us since the start of the year it has likely not arrived with you yet. There was a supposed cyber-attack on Royal Mail on January 10th which has caused the entire international branch to collapse. Only now are they slowly starting to reinstate alternative shipping methods and your parcels will finally be making their way through the system, but we couldn’t be more sorry about the delays.

Hopefully, things will improve from now on, and we are in the process of setting up a new (and more bulletproof) system for international orders so instances like this won’t be as detrimental for our shop anymore. Thanks for bearing with us, for any questions please write us at shop@monalisa-twins.com.

Until next week (we’ll also talk to you in the comments) …

  1. I have watched the Behind The Scenes videos that are on YouTube but didn’t find all the ones in the archives until last night. Another MLT rabbitt hole. I’m never gonna get through everything in this club.

  2. I love the behind the scenes video and how closely it matched the final presentation. I happen to also love this song; melodically, lyrically and production-wise. It is hard to believe that “Best” can get “Better”! I love you, Ladies. -:)

  3. Cool video to go with this song! Im sure Trudy wishes she was there. Mona I expcted lisa to play a guitar but I had no idea you could play triplet flutes!! Im impressed… lol. Well it was a nice visual! Im curious how often you get noticed by strangers on the street now?

  4. On February 10, 2009, like Any Other Day, I walked into the Post Office in Santa Monica, California. I noticed a beautiful girl and we happened to walk out together. We’re still together.
This beautiful and magical song captures that feeling perfectly. It’s one of the reasons why I’m such a fan, you clearly have a grasp on the spirit of the heart.

From the filmmaker’s perspective I love to see how elements work together for the ‘story’. Lisa’s upbeat walk and smile towards us captures our attention and gives it an added bounce to this lovely and uplifting song. Mona coming in and out brings up the revolving nature of life.
It’s wonderful when it all comes together like this!

    Thank you!!!
    Tomás

    1. Nice story. I like to hear heartwarming stories of people finding each other. I know a lot of people look down on the postal system, but I have a feeling that you must think differently about the post office, lol. Take care,
      Bobby S.

  5. This is an absolutely Bonafide Uplifter from GetGo…. it Amplifies, Eminates , Resonates Truly.. Indeed #MLTBUZZLUVGROOVIFIED Verified… Luv it , Link Shared.. You betcha 🫶💜👌🎵🤘🏻🎼🎵🎶🔊🌞😎

  6. Quel beau video, quelle belle chanson, je pensais que ca été filmé a Amsterdam, it is beautiful to see the pigeons, Mona I like your flutes “rouge, bleu et vert”, also you have a very nice coat et Lisa you have un tres beau foulard. I love this song so much, It is so romantic and we need that today.

  7. I just realized that this video is a real rarity. I think you have to go back to the very earliest videos (the concert and the one in Australia) to find another one like it. How so, you ask? Because in so much of it Mona is on the right side of the screen, to Lisa’s left. Is this a breakthrough? A sign of things to come? Will 2023 be full of surprises? I’m on the edge of my seat!

    1. Yeah, I noticed that in some of the pictures from the Make Show photoshoot. But it’s even more prevalent now. What does it all mean? Let the conspiracy theories begin!

    2. I noticed the same thing. At first, I chalked it up to aesthetics—Mona filling in the blank space behind the neck of Lisa’s guitar. But then the final scene at the wall convinced me that something new was up. Time will tell..

  8. Nice little song ! I love the video too, especially the first long shot. It remains Verve´s “Bittersweet Symphony” though the feeling is very different. The birds were magnificent too. Good work again !

  9. my favorite off the cd. i asked you for a happy video for this happy song and you delivered. every time i listen to this song i can not listen just once. usually 3 or 4 times. now the same for the video.

  10. I only heard this song for the first time this evening. An excellent melody that has a hypnotic quality to it. I listened to it ten minutes ago and it’s still playing inside my head.
You may have been suffering for your art while filming in the cold in Chester but the town looks very handsome and was I think a good choice. I thought at first it was Amsterdam!
I’ve never seen so many pigeons in one place!
    Many thanks.

  11. Sorry to be slow with the comments, but another amazing video. I have been a fan of Gilbert O’Sullivan since I was in school and I don’t doubt there have been comments of similarities before. I still play the Back to Front album (original vinyl) often. Any Other Day seems to blend memories of “Claire” and the Beatles sound with your own sweetness and personal touch perfectly. I have a very close friend that has found comfort in your music in times of strife and sadness and she will love this one too. Again many thanks for your wonderful work.
Lisa, I feel for you battling with cold stiff fingers playing. I have trouble playing without warming up indoors let alone out in the raw dampness. Gawd, barre chords in the cold? Talk about torture for your beautiful hands. So many of your songs I long to learn so I can play along with them in my little music nook.

  12. How have I missed you, that’s Chester and I live in Chester and am quite often by the canal and walking the walls.sorry I missed you filming. As usual, the song and video are brilliant. Love it, but sorry I you. Was this filmed about 18 months ago and were you sat bt the river having a sandwich? X

  13. WOW what a beautiful video, Papa Rudi has done a great job, I adore this song , this song should be No1, I have to tell you that when I saw it I have cried, this song makes me cry, I must be old, I think it is my favorite song on your CD “WHY”. And to hear your sweet voices, it is heaven, Merci

  14. I absolutely adore Any Other Day. I can imagine it being a number one hit for the Carpenters back in 1970, though Karen could not have sung it better. I can imagine it coming from the pen of Paul McCartney, though he could not have improved on its lyrics or melody. And to top it off, it is such a wry observation on the role of chance in shaping our lives. Any other day back in 2017 and I might not have clicked on that MonaLisa Twins Beatles cover on Youtube. But I did, and five and a half years later, here I am, forever changed.

    1. David my introduction to MLT was similar…I was watching George Harrison videos one day and kept getting interrupted by commercial…so I gave in and watched the promo for Beatles and More and then it went right into Drive My Car and Please Please Me ….that was it…I was hooked…and here I am 5 years later….like you forever changed.

    2. Thanks, David – it means a lot 🙂 Yes, chance is a funny thing. So many details of our lives are shaped by little coincidences. Or maybe they weren’t coincidences … the age old question, haha!

  15. How toughtfull of You to honour this friend/ supporter!! As for sure this song will fit!! You reminding his birthday says something about yourself too . I am so greatfull MLT passed my path, for it gave me lots of joy the last few years. Your music and lyrics are great, please go on like this, and Thanx to the whole team MLT. By the way the shots of Lisa behind the gate / bridge are fantastic just as the shot where the doves fly up!! It fits the song

  16. This video makes me feel good today. This and the sunshine and 40 degree temps. Almost feel guilty sitting indoors watching stock car racing.

      1. Yeah Dave I was a Matt Kenseth fan but seems all the good ones are gone. At least Smoke is gonna be in the booth.

  17. Such a beautiful song and the video is just magical. This joins my ever growing list of “Favorites!” It reminds me of how I felt when “This Boy” by The Beatles came out. I fell in love with that song and I am in love with this one. I know I said this already, but I’m old, so it’s okay to repeat myself… Such a beautiful song!! And, I love the video! Charming location, beautiful music and pretty girls. What’s not to love?

  18. Another beautiful song and video. I find your music both centering and energizing. A lot of it, I think, is because of your thematic choices and the loving, conscientious perspectives you bring. I appreciate how much caring you Wagners put into everything you do.

  19. What an absolutely lovely song and video! Paying this beautiful tribute to Steve clearly demonstrates once again how caring and appreciative the MLT are to their supporters!
As always, “Thanks For The Memories!”

  20. Here’s to Steve, it’s so sweet how you pay tribute to him. I bet he loves this song. It’s so catchy I find myself quoting it a lot. What are the chances?
(I just made you say one in eight billion)

I can’t help but picture Mona running around the camera to switch sides for the next shot. Come to think of it, good job Lisa maintaining your composure while Mona scurries around.

So kool how like a true drummer,Mona tosses the bird seed in time with the music. Nice!

Glad to see the pigeons performed properly and on cue.
I hope there wasn’t to much poo.
Oh well, what can you do?
(We appreciate your sacrifices for art)

Warming up in the Catskills 50F and sunny

    Love,

    Marlo & JP

    1. Haha, YES there was a bit of sprinting around the camera involved, trying not to trip over dad and fall into the canal. We’ll have to look through the “making of” footage soon to see if there’s enough for a whole video.
And no, even though it was the first shot we filmed we stayed pigeon-poop-free for the whole day. They had great work ethics and cooperated like true professionals 😉

  21. Not just a friend but a benefactor.
I am sure that he is up there smiling,
very pleased with what he has contributed to.
    Nice job ladies!

  22. lovely song, lovely location and lovely ladies! I’ve always been impressed by your respect and remembering those who’ve helped you in the past. Such respect! One question, how did you get all the pigeons to fly away at the end? Did Trudy help? How did the pigeons know the song was over? Inquiring minds want to know.

  23. Such a lovely song, would fit right into the “A Hard Day’s Night” film, and so great that you keep up tradition by making a video for Steve every year. I personally have never visited Chester, an old Roman town, but always wanted to go and see the wonderful buildings. Looked a bit cold and damp that day but if I am not mistaken Lisa is keeping warm by wearing the scarf that I gave her for Christmas!! Also great editing to get the pigeons to fly away on cue at the end. Steve would be proud.

    1. YESSS! I love that scarf, again big, big thanks. And it’s warm, which despite it looking rather sunny was much needed. I have to laugh at how awkwardly I’m strumming the guitar but my hands were frozen! 🙂

      1. So happy you like the scarf, I think its colours really suits you. It’s like it almost has a starring role in the video!! Can’t imagine strumming strings with frozen hands – sounds painful!

  24. This is a beautiful video relaxing on the canal, bridge and pigeon place in Chester.. Mona’s three recorders are a brilliant idea. How does she play three recorders at one time? Ha ha ha.
Trudy must be ecstatic!! I loved Chester with its rows on vacation.
Nice for Steve. And also perhaps for somebody else? A boyfriend maybe?

  25. I would agree with Steve this is the stand out song on this album, beautiful lyrics, lovely mix of chords, simplistic but exquisite music well played wonderfully sang with a nice background video, congratulations.

  26. This was one of my early favorites on an album completely filled with favorites. I love the simplicity of the video and how it perfectly matches the song. I’m also thinking this hits the tipping point where we’ll eventually see the full album in video. Love it!

  27. I have never heard another song that can put me into pure bliss so quickly than this one. About 10 or 15 seconds into “Any Other Day” puts my day, no matter how troublesome or chaotic, into perfect order. The video fits it wonderfully. The movement, the casual street scenes, it reminds us that beauty is all around and peace and contentment is only a mindset away. Thank you so much for this. It makes me wonder if it was only a fluke that I happened upon your YouTube channel one day in 2016 or whether it could have possibly been more? Whatever it was, I am just so grateful.

  28. Steve has to be smiling today as he looks down at you two. A beautiful song, and an amazing video. Simple yet very creative. A perfect way to honor Steve and your memory of what he ment to you as you started your musical journey.

  29. Whatever hidden meaning there may be in this song, it is a beautiful love song. It is one of my two favorites from the Why album, and it is the one I listen to the most. The video fits nicely!

I love the lyrics of the song. The first time I listened to the song, I wasn’t sure about the “chances are one in eight billion” reference. A short time later I read that the population of our planet had just exceeded 8 billion. I must have had my head in the sand.

This video was a surprise – two new music videos in two weeks. It is special that you still honor you friend on his birthday (Steve, I assume).

Finally, you guys really go all out on the spending. Those recorders Mona is holding are expensive. Prices have sure gone up. $2.95 each is what I saw. I remember a line from the movie Jurassic Park – “Spared No Expense”. OK, the recorder is actually a real instrument dating back to the 13th or 14th century, and there are expensive ones, and of course you already mentioned you used a Mellotron in the studio. And, I almost forgot, in the “Spared No Expense” category, Mona did use a kazoo in you “Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea”.

  30. Such a Lovely song, your friend must be smiling down on you two and maybe a choir of angels singing along too. Thank you for sharing.

  31. First off, gotta note Lisa’s amazing restraint, not hip-checking Mona into the canal. You just know it crossed her mind. If not for risking water damage to the 🎸, I’m sure it could’ve gone the other way, too! The shot panning from Lisa above to Mona below with not 1, not 2, but 3 recorders was genius! And what a plethora of pigeons! Wonderful, FUN video, team! I know Steve is loving this!
The past couple years, I’ve made a small donation on or near Steve’s birthday and called it “The Archangel Steve Memorial Music Fund”. I encourage anyone who can to join in and hope you’ll use it for something you know Steve would approve of. The kalimba you received a couple years ago was also in his memory and honor. It made me so happy to hear you actually put it to good use!
Keep up the GREAT work, Team MLT!

    1. The support of you and this amazing community as a whole keeps blowing us away. There really isn’t a more kind-hearted bunch of people out there. Thank you Jeffrey for keeping Steve’s memory alive too.

  32. Another day is a great song and the video is great, as always they amaze me with their creativity.
The art print cannot be missing in my collection.

    Congratulations ladies

  33. Hi Mona and Lisa. I just had a close up look at the new Studio Scribbles for this song, and I must say your penmanship in cursive with the flourishes are gorgeous! I saw on previous handwritten lyrics and Studio Scribbles you hand wrote in print beautifully, but your script in cursive is even more awesome! I’m so looking forward to getting mine. You never cease to impress and inspire! I just love it. 👍 ✒ 💛 ❤ 🌹 😊

  34. This one of the lighter songs on the album that balances the deeper themes of some of the songs. It’s the kind you sing in the car as your heading up the turnpike to Tulsa (about an hours drive from OKC). The video is so beautifully done. I especially like the shot of Lisa singing in front of the golden spikeed fence with the street scene behind – just before we see Mona doing the three “flute” trick. The pigeons are spectacular. And they only work for crumbs. So is Mona’s stepping in/out of the scenes an example of the British saying “pop in” and “pop out.” Great job ya’ll. Peace be.

  35. I think your right Richard, he is smiling from ear to ear. Such a well written song on such a winter day. I loved the video because your both so relaxed just strolling along, singing and feeding birds. Made for a great video!!!!!! Stay Groovy and thanks Ladies!

  36. This is a beautiful song. I guess I haven’t listened to Why? enough because I don’t remember hearing it before! (But that could be another symptom of covid brain.)
I also never knew about Steve, or your birthday tradition. What a lovely way to honor him, and I agree with everyone else that this is the best Why? song to choose.

  37. I’ve watched this several times now and can’t get enough. I find the walking pace of this song so meditative and calming. Lisa’s movement, with Mona sliding in and out, draws such a powerful analogy to life’s journey. We move through the days, weeks, years, and as long as we keep moving, we will be joined by others, sometimes briefly and sometimes for a longer time. The scenes that were filmed without the walking were a nice contrast – stillness as the activity around us, in this case pigeon flights or Mona playing three recorders (!), is absorbed. So peaceful and beautiful. I love it!

    1. Hi Jeannette
Love your analogy example in the song of life’s journey and people coming in and out of our lives, just as Mona pops in and out as Lisa walks along singing with her guitar. It’s all so brilliant and beautiful.

      1. Thanks, Jung. I think that the simplest of things, if they make a connection with or point to something more profound, are the most effective way of communicating truth and beauty. I also know, however, that achieving what appears to be a simple presentation takes a great deal of insight, reflection, and creativity!

    2. That is indeed a brilliant metaphor, Jeannette! My high school English teacher would be super impressed.

Funny, when I first envisioned what a video for this song might look like, I kept picturing Tony from West Side Story singing “Maria”, seen in continuous closeup as he walks toward the camera with the scenery receding behind him.

      1. How wonderful that your creative mind was on the same wave length as those of MLT when they chose to express their song in that particular way! I wouldn’t have thought of that, but wow, is it ever effective.

  38. Another winner! Honestly, your videos just brighten my day! I so want to meet you and see you perform in person some day! XO

  39. Seeing as how it was your good friend Steve that helped you get started with those new guitars that are featured in your THIS BOY video it’s a revelation that the This Boy video hit 2 million views a couple days ago…..I have wondered from time to time just how did you meet Steve…I think you mentioned one time that he’s from Miami, Florida….and obviously that “chance” meeting of “1 in 8 billion” could very well have been the inspiration for this beautiful tribute to Steve❤️🧡

  40. Just Lovely and Steve’s RAINBOWSPIRITSOULHEART is definitely Smiling at this…he approves ….. what a lively/scenic setting Chester is, a perfect compliment to the song….. Love the Po-in/outside of Mona and her street flute playing basking….lol …And the pigeons and timing ….It just all intertwined as was meant to … Kudos… I love the Studio Scribble for this song… but can only enjoy from seeing it online, you did a wonderful creative take on the Studio Scribble , Kudos for very thing done on this , always love this yearly Steve Bday Tradition Tribute for/to in his memory/ honour 😊🤘🏻👌👍🏻💜🫶

  41. Beautiful song, beautiful video, beautiful ladies! Thank you for honoring your friend, it’s another one of the things you do that makes you so endearing!

  42. What a great song this is. It’s been stuck in my head for months. It’s calming, it’s relaxing, it’s everything good, It could be a Broadway hit.. only better. What a perfect place to shoot the video. It’s easy to see why you like it there, I’m glad you finally found your sunny day. Like I’ve always said “If one recorder is good, three is better”. Thank you so much for this, made my day brighter.

  43. Oh my! At 1:02 you can clearly see the HSBC logo. At one time it was Marine Midland Bank and I met my wife at the Marine Midland Arena…any other day!!!

      1. Lisa, seeing the HSBC logo really made the video hit home. Certainly, many of us have had those “Any Other Day” moments. Deborah and I will be married 24 years next month. This video reminds me to purchase a nice anniversary gift!

  44. Beautiful song and amazing video. I’m sure your friend is listening and he loves it. I got a kick out of Mona playing her flutes on the street and the way she pops in and out of the video like magic. But I always knew she is magical. Thank you so much.

  45. This is a beautiful thing you do each year on this anniversary and a lovely song to use. Cant work out which song I like the best. It was Questionable but I find myself watching Make Show every time I am on. The video is fantastic. Have to say I think Tom who commented just before me may have a point there.

  46. Have loved this song since the first time I heard it, I immediately thought..Wow,that sounds like something Sir Paul himself would write. And as usual, seeing those Beautiful, Smiling faces has gotten this weekend off to Groovy start. I absolutely love this video ,and as always the locations you ladies choose fit the song perfectly. Love Mona playing the 3 flutes, and the look on the older couples face as they pass her by.
Have ordered my Studio Scribbles for this one already! Gotta keep the collection complete.

As Always, Love & Hugs to All
    Tom

And a HAPPY HEAVENLY BIRTHDAY TO STEVE!!

  47. This is my favorite song from”Why?”. To me it shows the magic that life can present even when the world seems crazy. I love the sentiment and the video captures it perfectly. Your smiles are as uplifting as the lyrics and I really enjoyed the hundreds of trained pigeons at the end.

  48. absolutely wonderful, such a smooth tune, very harmonic, beautiful harmonies, very clever lyrics, John, Paul, George and Ringo would be proud , hope it get the attention it deserves

  49. I have watched the video three times thus far. I love the song and can not get enough of it. The video is very well done, as usual. Love the outdoor scenery. Mona & Lisa look as good as ever.

The melody reminds me a bit of an old song by Gilbert O’Sullivan, called “Clair”.
Does anyone else hear it? Just curious?

Well, you made my day brighter. Thank you.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend. Take good care.
    Bobby S.

    1. Hi Bobby, Yes the songs are similar in a way but, I would follow the twins anywhere. Gilbert will just have to go it alone again. 🙂
      CW

    2. Thank you Bobby!! We’ve gotten the Gilbert O’Sullivan comparison before and I do get what you mean. It wasn’t intentional at all when writing the song, but I love “Claire” so I take it as a big compliment 🙂

Can we also say a huge THANK YOU for your sweet cards and CDs that arrived the other day! So kind and thoughtful!

  50. Gosh! What a special Friday today. The anticipation & waiting for this video has been killing me 🙂 Just love this song. I mentioned a video in suggestions for this song because in my opinion it is the Best song on the album. I have been singing this song every day since October. Just can’t get it out of my head and now the video is outstanding. Another Pearl.
Please give Papa Rudi a big high five from all of us in the club!!!
    Big Hugs from Texas

    1. Thanks for letting that song live in your head for the past months 🙂 We’re glad you enjoyed the video to now go along with it! I just read your comment out to Papa Rudi and he sends big High Fives back to you!

      1. Thank You. I’m sure Michaela’s halo is especially bright today because of this wonderful gift you have given to all of us in the club. I admire your team and love your work. You guys always go beyond predictable limits.
        Best wishes to you all.

  51. Oh my goodness! What a lovely song and again you know how to deliver the goods to us club members to kick off our weekend! What a beautiful video and the background scene is so beautiful. My hats off to all of you Mona. Lisa , Pa, Micheala for coming up with the best way of doing this video and my goodness the music is perfect. Why? as all of us have said is another master piece to me and I listen to either one or two songs or the entire album everyday I recieved it, last Sunday binged with Mona and Lisa music all day and to end up with the album Why? was perfect I had to listen twice!! Thank you again for this lovely video and you gift to all of us with your art and thanks to Steve for getting the ball rolling for you both.
Hugs and Love from Bill and Maddie Isenberg Huge fans from Pittsburgh PA
PS……FYI Maddie loves Tonight you belong to me video of the duo sessions and she sings it everynight before she goes to bed!!!

  52. I love this song. As per most of my feelings of MLT, their music centers me. Calms me. Saddened to hear it when someone passes. Godspeed to your next journey. My 3rd band lost 2 original players during covid. Luckily the person who wrote the music with the singer is a fantastic bass player and they found another great keyboard originally from Texas. The guitar that has been with then from the beginning. He just left which saddens me greatly. But, when I listen to this beautiful song…I feel calm and that everything will work out in life. Thanks to everyone. Peace. Stay safe. God Speed. Stay Groovy! ❤️🌹🤘

    1. Thank you Ken, we’re so sorry for your losses, too ♥ The fact that our music centres you, in turn, makes us feel very peaceful. Big hugs!

  53. Hello Ladies,

No doubt Steve would have absolutely loved this song. It’s one of Maria’s and my favorites too.
Beautiful scenery. Mona’s triple recorder solo was beautiful! The way she kept coming and going throughout the video is perfect.
Lisa your vocals and instrumentation have never been better.
The pigeons flying off at the end (as if on que) was classic. (Trudy must have been directing the video 😆 )
Thanks Ladies and Team MLT for the great video.
Steve would be deeply touched 🥲

  54. Ooooh I absolutely love the video, it’s perfection with the amazing song that always transports me to such a beautiful magical place. You capture that feeling of falling head over heels for someone so perfectly in your beautiful song. Only masterful songwriters of your caliber now can accomplish this kind of magic!

Seeing you Lisa with your guitar, singing and walking along the street with that smile, and Mona’s too that can launch a thousand ships is perfection, and loved seeing Mona with all those flutes, and the pigeon scene was amazing.

The lyrics and melody together make such beautiful feelings, I can’t get enough of this song, and seeing you both in the video for it was the icing on the cake. Your singing, the flute, those poetic words, it’s just one incredible song.

I adore the song and video, kudos to another remarkable video off your masterpiece album WHY? I can’t wait to get my hands on the Studio Scribbles for this song! THANK YOU so much for creating so much beauty. Steve will be smiling with joy again!

  55. Lovely video in a lovely city. My maternal grandfather was born there in 1879 but left in his early teens. He never revisited until I was able to take him when I was in my late teens and he was in his early 80’s. It sticks in my mind because from the moment we arrived by train everything was so much better than anywhere else…he had built the place up in his mind to be a mythical utopia. Even when we crossed the bridge, which is still there, at the station he commented “you see how wide the steps onto the bridge are here. Far wider treads than anywhere else to make it easier for the people” I visit Chester occasionally from time to time and never get off the train without looking at those steps and thinking of him! (and indeed the steps to the bridge are wider than most!)
I digress! Lovely video and great song.

    1. What a beautiful story, thank you for sharing it. Your Dad isn’t wrong, there is a certain magic about Chester. Unfortunately the song is only short as we wouldn’t have had difficulties findings dozens of charming spots to film at ♥

  56. And they still don’t know birds that well? I’m not convinced. In any case, I expect to press pause a few times on replay, just to enjoy the details of the scenery. Then there’s the tune! Along with perfect and poignant lyrics. “Just in time to make everything rhyme”. They just keep coming up with these great and diverse tunes! Thanks Mona. Thanks Lisa.

  57. Fantastic- Love the song and love the Video. Looks like you had a nice day trip to Chester? You’re both very brave sitting with all those Pigeons, hope you didn’t get pooped on ha ha!
And a fitting tribute to Steve.

    1. I was worried about the bird poop too David. At least Mona had some heavy duty boots on. What we call “shit kickers”. Lol. Mona knows what’s up.

  58. What an outstanding video. In my opinion your the best at producing videos !
And of course , the singing was marvelous also !!

  59. Amazing video and all done in 5 days! WOW!!! Everything with this song is outstanding. Steve would have totally loved this. Thank you for the wonderful music. 🙂

  60. Sometimes less is more. The simplicity of Lisa walking and playing and Mona just dropping in and out is such a simple idea and yet sets the mood brilliantly. I’m sure Steve would love it as do I.

    1. Thanks Paul, we too thought that the ‘less is more’ approach worked really well with the song/video ♥ Glad you like it!

  61. This is perfection! It fills me with deep feelings of peace, contentment, and joy. The power of one beautiful song paired with an equally beautiful video – amazing!

  62. I want to say to everyone here that this particular song Any Other Day has a lovely melody, and I’m finding out that the entire Why? recording is going to win out as the best MLT release of all to date.

Additionally, there’s a mysterious quality to the entire song selection available on Why?, and of course I Bought Myself a Politician is the most timeless and memorable of the collection.

Like few other things in life, I sort of feel like I grew up with the MLTs, and both ladies are growing as musicians. I rightly sensed their potential as instrumentalists many years ago.

    Thank you for remembering Steve.

In memory of his kindred spirit,

    Mike

  63. Ihr Lieben, das ist ein neues schön leichtfüssiges LisaMona-Video mit einer sehr
berührenden Geschichte. Danke für den Song.

  64. Fantastic! I just love the way Mona casually drops in and out! And 3 recorders at once! LOL! I agree with Christopher – the joy they always radiate just makes me happy to my core, no matter what kind of day I’m having. Bravo!

  65. Just watched for the second time and can you believe it…it even got better than the first viewing !!! Great video. Great location and I loved the pigeons One of my favorites from Why?.

  66. A real nice video that is so appropriate for the song. Also, it is a perfect song and video to utilize as your yearly tribute for Steve from Miami.

So many elements make this video great…I will let my fellow MLT Club members go into all the detail. But I have to say this…the aura of contentness and of joy is evident on both your faces…even more so than usual!

I am not going to ask how you got those pigeons to cooperate and work in unison. The bird-whisperers are back in action!

  67. Lovely! The setting really matches the mood of the song. I have to say I was concerned for the safety of Papa Rudi in the opening scene, pointing a camera while walking backwards alongside a sheer drop-off to the water!
