Once Upon A Time – Early Access

Official Release Date: 16th June 2019

Give us three weeks in Lanzarote (Canary Island), a camera and a drone … this is what we’ll come up with by the end of it.

We are proud to finally present our new original video for “Once Upon A Time”, a song off our album ORANGE and ft. John Sebastian on blues harp.

The editing for it took a bit longer than we would have liked but whenever we shoot videos in a more “loose” fashion (as opposed to with a strict story board) we pay for it by spending more time in front of the editing screen afterwards.

During our trip we mainly tried to capture as many of the impressive landscapes of Lanzarote as we could, while keeping the song and its message in mind at all times. We just love the rough, untouched and vast plains this island has to offer, paired with the impressive cliffs and of course, the volcanoes of which there are dozens. “Once Upon A Time” seemed to fit this scenery perfectly, and with the help of our DJI drone we got some very unique angles and bird’s eye views captured “on film” (… or rather on memory card?).

All the clips showing John Sebastian were from the time he visited us in Liverpool shortly before the release of ORANGE . We pretty much had the cameras rolling constantly for those few days! 🙂

Just today we listened back to his song Younger Generation and think both the song “Once Upon A Time” as well as the video tie in with it really perfectly. This is now the 3rd and last video we had filmed with John but we want to say again how wonderful it was to work with him and have this project span generations. Cause we’ve been told, that young and old can learn from each other … <3

Lots of peace and love to you all and stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

  6. I was a child, turning to a teen, in the 60’s and I remember the collor and the feeling of the Love of this time. The World seems to have gotten worse since then, becoming grey and sad. I still believe in Love (ever) and I try to show it to people around me. Your music and videos always bring me back that feeling, always get me emotional and hopeful. That’s what I was expecting when I see your look in the pictures. If young people like you can spread this kind of feeling, I think the future of the World is in good hands. Thank you a lot!

  7. The video was worth waiting for! Beautiful work! The scenery is so spectacular and the song just fits. Your colorful attire and beautiful faces rounded out the project perfectly.

  11. Holy Cow!!! The scenery is Breathtaking!!!!❤ Ladies and Team MLT, you have outdone yourselves on this one.
This song Needs to be the Opening song at Woodstock 50th Anniversary. With you and John Sebastian together on Stage.
That would be a kick in the head for that to happen for all generations.
This song certainly shows “the love for young and old”, in a time where a spirit was carefree, simpler times, and “love each other” You have captured the true spirit of the 60’s. This with out a doubt really is
“The Dawning of the New Age of Aquarius.”
Mona and Lisa, you are right in the middle of it.
Thanks LADIES AND the Fabulous Team MLT.
    P. S. Thank your dad for his masterful production and shots of the exquisite scenery with the Drone. Also big thanks to Michaela for her scouting the Georgeous scenery, and all the amazing things she does. Truly an extraordinary team.

  12. WOW!!!! EPIC would be an understatement! The scenery, colors, great old footage and harmonica playing of John and of coarse you 2 beauties! SO well shot, KUDOS to the video crew (Rudi?!)! Wait until the rest of the world sees this, they’ll love it!

  13. Wow!!! That was great. It was great seeing John in the throwback Woodstock part. I was 15 going on 16 at the time. I try to remember the “spirit” of that time and wonder what happened. I just erased from this post some downer stuff that happened during the summer of 1969. Basically stuff from the headlines. So, it is probably better to leave those things unsaid. Regardless, there is no denying your talent and how your videos keep getting better and better. Thank you so much for your gift of music to us. Mike.

  14. Woah, everyone was on the starting blocks. I checked again last night at midnight. The video was not published yet. And this morning when I wake up, I have not much left to say. I can only say that I completely agree with each of the comments (certainly much better expressed than I could do it) and that I especially like the profusion of colors in the video and the headbands in the hair. .. Thank you for all your efforts. SG!

  15. Lovely video 🙂

Do you know that this song has been one of the 2 ringtones on my cell phone, for more than a year? When I clicked “Play” on the video, it briefly felt like a friend was calling. ^_^

  16. wow, just WOW.
All of it, incredible, every single aspect. Astounding. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
You’re bringing the best of the 60’s and anchoring it today. This is a happier, better, more joyous world because of you.

  17. WOW! Now that’s a video!
I’ve watched this at least 10 times. The videography is stunning and the landscape is phenomenal and fits this amazing song perfectly. Incorporating clips of Mr. Sebastian then and now was a touch of genius and fits this song seemlessly. The wonderful special effects are not distracting and flow smoothly within the video. Just perfect.
The cliff shot starting at 1:15 nearly gave me vertigo and heights don’t bother me. Well done!
Thank you for the countless hours you have spent to create this masterpiece for us!

  18. I just love it and am completely blown away! What a prelude to the 60’s, Woodstock, and spirit of peace and love. I can just feel and experience all that like being transported back to that time through the beautiful singing and sights. Love the psychedelic free your mind vibe right from the start of the video. A wonderful blending of the breathtaking island scenery, of the beautiful MonaLisa Twins dancing on the cliffs, and the 60’s psychedelic mood. The video captured the mood of the song so perfectly. It was a great effect showing footage of Woodstock and John Sebastian from that time and 50 years later now with Mona and Lisa. Kind of like an arch between the 60’s and the present, just like this song. Just a magnificent and grand video so beautifully done! Bravo, magnificent, spectacular, you guys did it again, better than ever!

  19. I absolutely LOVE this!!! Beautiful singing, glorious harmonies and great musicianship!!!
Thank you SO much!!!! I LOVE it!!!!!!!

  20. Wow, way cool, This sent me back in time with the grooviest blends of colors all over. The stylish threads are far out. Then the added voices of MLT. One of the coolest guys John Sebastian. The video from a drone is classy. Very artistic, wonderful beauty start to finish. Once Upon A Time

  21. Beautiful Ladies! Well worth the wait. Took me all the way back to Woodstock. Not that I was there in person, but I was in spirit, and clothes, with my orange coloured, skin-tight, bell bottom jeans, wide leather belt, and leather sandals. I loved your outfits in the video. When it comes to flower children, you two are the real deal. Also, thanks for sharing more of the fabulous Canary Island scenery with us.

    1. You are so right Howard, Mona and Lisa are the real deal when it comes to flower children and knowing the spirit of those wonderful times of the 60’s.
