Family Holiday 2011 – Photos

In 2011 we took a family trip (us, our parents and little cousin) to the county of Upper Austria.

We were already out of school at this point but our cousin was on summer break. So we took him in for a couple of weeks and spent some holiday time in different parts of the Austrian country side.

We remember having worked through the whole night to get our “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” video up on YouTube before we started the trip. Our cousin was not very happy to see us sleeping most of the car ride but he nonetheless joined us excitedly watching the video gaining views every night.

It was some very peaceful downtime in-between working on our first original album “When We’re Together”.

We already had a few of the songs written by then because we remember playing an early version of “All About Falling In Love” on a bench in the garden of the farmstead we were staying at. We were so nervous about the landlady listening in!

We hope you enjoy these Austrian impressions and send peace & love,
Mona & Lisa

  1. Wow! What beautiful scenery!!
Was the little barn next to the staircase, where you had a gig one time?
Your not so little cousin anymore looks like he was enthralled with his Famous cousins. He looked like he was enraptured with ” All About Falling In Love “.
I would lime to hear that some time. I think it would make for a very nice feature in the club. Sort of behind the scenes creation/ still in the works.
Remind us of his name sometime.
    Thanks Ladies?❤

  2. Such lovely, breathtaking landscapes, culture in the areas where you took these photos at. I’m loving all of the photos , the archectural detailing of tge buildings, houses, churches, etc, stunning. Charming and Quaint, Rustic , etc . That set of stairs away up high and the gondola type lift, lol…too high up for my liking….heights and I don’t get along…lol but it brings back happy memories of when Mom and Dad (and after Mom got sick/passed until Dad’s own health rendered him no longer able to drive ) and myself would go for Saturday but mostly on Sunday drives, out into countryside, wind up in an unknown area, town, city but yet onwards home, Dad would somehow find a familiar road, we find our way home…. I loved it, your photos puts a smile on those memories of mine, Thankyou for sharing??

  3. The landscapes look just like those around here. I took a quick look; the latitude of Austria and that of New York State are not that far apart. I suspect we shared a glacier a few thousand years ago. Nice photos of a nice time!

  4. It looks like some super fun and fond family memories. Those are the best indeed. Austria looks beautiful whether near the Alps or Upper Austria there with those beautiful rolling hills. One of the places high on my list to visit in Europe. So much rich music history there for sure, not to mention homeland of my absolutely favourite music hero twins! 🙂 Your little cousin is so cute and adorable. Reminds me of my 2 nephews I use to bounce on my lap at Christmas’s. Now they are both taller than me! How they grow up so fast. Thanks for sharing these beautiful moments!

  5. Beautiful country. Love “All About Falling In Love.” I love the album “When We’re Together.” Was the trip inspiration for any of the songs? What a cool trip and so nice that you took your cousin. Lucky cousin. ?
