A Return To Finland – Parikkala – Photos
This having been our second trip in 2015 to Finland (you can find the photos of our first one here) we thought we already knew what to expect from our trip there. How very wrong we were!
Instead of playing in the big city of Tampere this time we took the trip to Parikkala in the province of Southern Finland. Beautiful lakes, endless pine woods, little saunas in the woods and surprisingly warm Summer weather!
Thousands of people came from seemingly nowhere to enjoy the “A Hard Day’s Night” Festival where we got to perform over the weekend.
During our time off we got spoilt rotten as the locals showed us some wonderful hidden spots in the woods, fed us campfire pancakes & berries, invited us to the Parikkala sculpture park and gave as a tour along the Russian border – an impressive police dog presentation included. You could tell how proud and happy the locals were to show us their culture and what the region had to offer. The way they embraced live music and made us feel welcome turned this into the best trip we could have hoped for.

Just some awesome pictures, and you both looked fabulous in those stage shots! Finland looks like a place I’d like to visit one day from those pictures. The police dog show sounds interesting, I bet many close relatives of my beloved Max. You got to officially step into Russia too! Were those real teeth in the woods? Thanks for sharing the photos, really enjoyed them! 🙂
