“In It For Love” – Duo Session

But I’m Still Into Something Good …

Some of you might have heard the long form interview we did with Robert Rodriguez on his podcast “Something About The Beatles” recently. On this show we performed a live version of “In It For Love” off our album ORANGE and have now cut together the video version of it, recorded live – with Dad tiptoeing around us with a camera while we were playing!

If you haven’t listened to the whole podcast, you can do so here.

We’re in it for love and hope you are too.

Stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

  1. Wow! Whilst listening to this, I was hearing a double bass in my mind. It was the missing piece for me……
Then I listened to the Orange version. With double bass, of course.
I like this ‘less is more’ version better but you know what I’m thinking. 🙂

  2. You picked two outstanding songs for the “Something About The Beatles” broadcast. You have mentioned that “In It For Love” is one of your favorite compositions, and it shows!

  3. This beautiful Duo Session from another one of your magical originals is simply a marvelous blend of beautiful harmony and fun!

You certainly started my weekend by giving me a big time smile!

As always, “Thanks for the Memories!”

  4. OMG The harmony’s are spot on and just like listening to angels singing to us. This song has such a wonderful tone and fun to listen to, I was in the background tapping on my table for the drums on this track off the Orange Album! Wow hope this makes the Duo Sessions #2 album. Also like the background items you have in your place of recording, looks like a VW Van from the 1960’s, how cool is that, I remember that van, our neighbor had on that was blue in color and we hung out in it a lot as kids. But thankyou for this masterpiece off the Orange Album.

  5. Beautiful, ladies, beautiful!! (I’ve found that when you do something for love, the ones who are doing it just for the money will often look down on you as a loser, because they’ll take all the shortcuts and are so willing to sell out any time it helps their success. But really, if you look at the big picture of all of life, how could anything be better than doing something for the love of it, and staying true to what it really means to you?)

  6. This is real music -at its best! Getting to watch you girls play together live is my absolute favorite. Ed, thanks for prompting us to revisit this gem!

  7. Such an excellent version of a terrific song….I love hearing the acoustic versions of your Orange songs,,,it brings them “Alive” and puts your talents on full display. Wonderful job ladies!

  8. God bless you Mona and Lisa!
Just found this video of my favorite song on Orange and I’m in awe of your talent! You both are exceptionally naturally beautiful in this video, and the exquisite guitar playing is only surpassed by the incredible vocals – Lisa’s lead is wonderful and the way Mona can jump in high or low harmony is just heavenly to me. I think the MLT Club is worth joining if only for this video.
Love everything about it – Thanks Mona and Lisa and papa Rudi!

  9. Love it , but what I’m wondering is how is Mona attaching the Guitar Strap to the epiphone on the bottom end ( Jack ) is she using the string ( I did some creative cutting to the leather to attach mine ( same guitar )but now that its on I don’t want to take it off when i put it back in the case ) just wondering???

  10. Really like this song. Lisa can sure bend a string. Mona’s playing is good from the barre chords to the open E……she does it so quickly. Funny how a chord in the E family always follows a chord in the B family. Mona’s guitar looks like the Epi version of the Hummingbird. Does any one know if it is the Hummingbird in the Epiphone brand? I’m kind of an equipment geek and like to know these things.

  11. Wow that was niiice! Always love to watch Mona and Lisa play their music. Beautiful singing and really liked the close up shots of their guitar work and those strings vibrating making those sweet sounds.

  12. Beautiful rendition. I love watching you two play and sing and the unplugged version makes me reiterate the suggestion I made a while about a little unplugged show. One day I’ll look up awesome in the dictionary and see a picture of the MonaLisa Twins.

  13. Delightful video. It’s great to see you playing “Unplugged” in such a casual setting. Enjoying the special features I get as a member of the MLT Club. Have a good one ladies.

  14. This is almost as good as actually being there in person watching the two of you perform! So good, so well done! Love it. You’re the best! Thank You for everything you are and do!

  15. Oh, Yeah! You’re still into something good with this rendition. This song is a favorite of my from the Orange album. Acoustically or with a full orchestra you girls always sound great.

  16. Totally into Something Good and that rocked awesome…just as equall MLTBUZZING GooseBumpy effect listening to this Live version as one does when listening on ORANGE….Splendidly…Superbly Fab…gotta luv the room decor, just adds to the whole thing….GroovyGreat, Thumbs Uppers All the way, and hoping Lisa’s FingerFauxpas is on the healing mend….Thanks for sharing this gem 🙂 <3

  17. I absolutely love this version!! Loved watching you finger pick on guitar, Lisa and as always- when you’re not leading the way, Mona- you’re offering perfect support!
