June – Live at the Cavern Club

(Written in 2021) June came and took the rain away …

It was pretty successful at that as well! Now July is finally catching up and after a couple of days of rain we’re enjoying a mini heatwave here in the UK.

It’s so uplifting to feel the sun on the skin and the heat in the air again, and there is something to be said about good weather being the best mood lift. Maybe that – and some good music. 🙂

Today we bring you our live version of “June” from inside the Cavern Club. Here is the link to the original studio version that we recorded for our debut album When We’re Together about 5 years prior to this live performance.

Stay groovy!

  1. Every time I hear this, I start thinking, what Beatles album is this from again? Then of course I realize it is one of your originals. If this was composed in 1964, the Beatles would be covering you. Absolutely outstanding song and performance.

  2. Awesome performance! I love the vibes this song produces. Happy thoughts spring to mind and marinate in the music. Thoughts from high school, childhood, pleasant memories, love and Springtime. Beautiful music, beautiful harmonies and enthusiastic smiles that melt your audience’s hearts. One of my most favorite songs along with “Dreams,” “I Don’t Know Birds That Well,” “Close to You,” “In It For Love,” “Count on Me,” “Still A Friend of Mine,” “When We’re Together,” “The Wide Wide Land,” “All About Falling in Love,” “Sweet Lorraine,”…… to name a few (or more).
Love the song, love the official video and love this video!! Great performance!! ????❤‼️

  3. “June” is one of my favorite MLT originals. I just love everything about it. I listen to it frequently.

  4. Every Tuesday and Friday are my favorite day of the week since I joined the MLT Club. Music , Album reviews ,Photos , Special Events and more….Love this song! Thank you for sharing!

  5. I don’t know what “originals” you might have closing in on a million views but I say this…release this song JUNE to the public and it’ll race to a million…I love all your videos but remember as a talent coordinator for several years in our local country music association in Dallas / Ft Worth area I love LIVE ..watching each band member is what I did…Lisa the smile on your face in this song is so bright it really shows how much you enjoyed singing and playing this song….for months as I play the Live at Cavern CD as I travel around the paper route every night when JUNE starts I … for whatever reason..envision Paul and Ringo having just entering the Cavern and being spellbound by your rendition of THIS BOY and then you go right into JUNE and Paul looks at Ringo and says “they’re really good, but I don’t recognize this song”…an MLT fan says to Paul “this is an original “ and Paul says “this is really good I like it” and turns to Ringo and says “ I’m gonna record it , this is a #1”…..and then I hit the brakes and wonder where the heck I am because I was spellbound listening …I was just driving and not delivering the papers…driving and singing along and forgetting to throw the papers in the yards….oh well…I thoroughly enjoy the Cavern CD from start to finish but to me there is just something extra special about This Boy and June…this is special…release it to the general public and it’ll race to a million❤️????????????????????

  6. Hi Mona and Lisa, Cha, Cha, Cha!!!You have to love it. The video and studio version is a beautiful way to present the song because you can do a lot more in the studio but I have to admit Live for me is always better, especially with you guys. You nail it every time. You wrote it with 1968 in mind. That was 5 years ago and you wrote the Lyrics and the Melody of the song way before that. Thanks and you guys sounded Groovy!!!!!!!

  7. I could have heard this song in 1966 and loved it as much then as I do now. Thank you for keeping the spirit of classic rock music alive and well. Mona and Lisa are awesome.

  8. Well done and beautiful! I think this is my new favorite song. The vocal, the harmonies, the guitar work. All masterfully done. I will be playing this a lot. Is this an original composition of yours? I never heard it before. Love it, love you.

  9. Hi Ladies,
Such a beautiful song and one that draws you in immediately.
Lisa your note at the end of your solo, with the tremolo, just melts my heart ❤ A magical night indeed, but when you include a masterful song like June, it becomes one that no one will ever forget!

    Thanks again Ladies
    Rick

  10. Great job! June is one of my favorite songs. Please let us all know if you are going to put any of your other songs on dvd. I have your one dvd and would love to see you release more.

  11. I always get a tear in the eye when listening to this song (or watching their YouTube upload of 2014 and now this). I suspect that this is because it as an almost perfect song to me (indeed I have described it as a masterpiece elsewhere).

There is more than a hint of sadness but the promise of joy in the future, the thought process of optimists. It is beautifully crafted and excellently performed in their unique way with lovely harmonies, superb musicianship and total commitment and feeling for the song. Mona often closes her eyes whilst ‘feeling’ what she is singing. From their glances I suspect that there are bits during the song that are from the heart for both of them.

(An aside is that in the UK the start of June can often be a bit rainy….I know from bitter experience by having cricket matches I was due to play in called off and a couple of wrecked holidays. The rest of the month is generally wall to wall sunshine. Not this year though!)

  12. One of the best things about this masterpiece is how Mona and Lisa captured the audience, It is so beautiful to see how the audience is quiet when Lisa sings ……oh June please take the rain away, really you can hear a pin drop and that tells you how wonderful Mona and Lisa are in concert, they give it their all and you can not help to be on this journey of love and spirit of their music and this was an original to boot! To capture the audience speaks volumes to me. Just love this song June, and the feel to me is Till There was You comes to mind and the harmony and guitar riffs take it to the next level. OMG Thank you Mona and Lisa for sharing with us and as always great way to kick into the weekend and glad the weather is nice for you to enjoy. Keep it coming please?

    God bless you both

  13. Well, that was Fabnomenal… and I could welcome a bit of rain to send the humidity out of the air here during another insane heatwave …
Yes, I was singing along side ya while watching/listening here… it’s so magical whenever you do it live… but on the Cavern stage here, it just reverberates, eminates such special enthusiasm … Love it…Thankyou for making my Friday and beginning to the wknd many tenfold brighter ????????✌

  14. June always brings out a smile in me, and watching your live performance on stage at the Cavern, even more! It is a perfect combination back to back on the live album with “This Boy”. I bet many in the audience seeing you for the first time thought “June” was a forgotten beautiful Beatles or McCartney gem! Hope you both have an awesome weekend in the UK, in the gorgeous weather. 🙂

I think the weather in the UK is still proper and nice, doesn’t get insane like it’s been on the westcoast across the big pond.

  15. Seventy years ago, two brothers from Kentucky gifted us with their heart melting harmonies.

Little did I know that I’d discover another set of siblings (this time twin sisters) during a serendipitous YouTube search for ‘God Only Knows’

Frank, I agree. Mona is The MASTER HARMONIZER. She is right up there with Phil Everly!!! Lisa is my GUITAR HERO!!! They have such an extraordinarily, sublime sound. And without question, my all-time favorite duo!!!

With this song and a prayer, I’m hoping the rain will go away for Germany and Belgium ????

  16. I’ll say it again – best live band! Lisa’s vocals and guitar are awesome as always, and I love how Mona can effortlessly harmonize high or low. Kudos to Rudi and Michaela for the great video and sound. You ladies are so right about having some sun and warm weather – and seeing Mona and Lisa play live makes any day sunny! Thanks for a great start to the weekend!

  17. Thank you, Ladies! Wonderful start to my Friday! I love the bright, sunny attitude of the ‘yellow’ video version of this MLT classic, with Mona and her parasol dancing thru the field of rapeseed flowers, but it’s easy to overlook the effort you both put into the ???? work until I see you playing it at the Cavern! It seems to come naturally, even somewhat effortless to you, but don’t tell Mona’s pick guard that! Like yours, our small family has multiple (Mom’s, my nephew’s and mine) birthdays in June, so this song has stood out since I first found it on YouTube. And we finally get to see you sing the awesome CH-CH-CH ending into the mics! Thank you for posting this vid of one of my favorite MLT songs!

  18. Thanks for a great start to the weekend! Look out July, June’s not done yet.
Your voices sound perfect here. This sounds so close to the original.
I just love Lisa’s guitar riffs on this song.

    TGIF CH-CH-CH!

    Encore! Encore!
