She’s A Woman – Live at the Cavern Club

It was the B-Side to “I Feel Fine” …

… but never made it onto an official Beatles album – unless you count those released many years later, or “Beatles ’65” which was only an American release at the time.

For us, it has a very intriguing energy to it and was one that worked live every time, whether there were lots of Beatles fans in the audience or not. We love songs that “build up”, and the final chorus here is definitely a highlight, especially in contrast to the quite laid-back verses.

Again, one that fit in the Cavern Club perfectly, and we hope you’ll enjoy our little take on this Paul McCartney penned song! 🙂

  1. I know the song, however, I didn’t know it didn’t make the album.
It’s really a good song and again you nailed it. Stay Groovy!!!!!!!!!

  2. The earth has been in existence for 4.6 billion years. I was lucky enough to be on this earth and witness the Beatles from the start and always being amazed by the creative talent of this group. Now I am lucky enough to have survived to this point in my life where I once again continue to be amazed by the Mona Lisa Twins recreating this work and sharing it with the world. Thank you both and your family for this gift to all of us. Wishing you always continued success with your work!

  3. Great version, ladies ! It was nice to hear and watch Mona playing solo ! Jeff Beck made a fine instrumental version from this on his album “Blow By Blow” produced no one else than Sir George Martin. Happy International Women´s Day to you !

  4. I could tell that Mona and Lisa were enjoying themselves as they were playing this song and their spirit became contagious as it always does. Once again, I was left smiling and in a much better mood after watching and listening to this performance. Mona’s riff on that impressive Rickenbacker was impressive and left me feeling pleased that she was given an opportunity to show off one of her many talents. And Lisa’s “roars” had me smiling right alongside of her. “She’s a woman…raarer!” Lol

  5. So watching this at home, and me and Maddie are dancing and jumping up and down to this song. Wow everyone has been spot on with comments. You ladies can rock with the best of them, just the lead part by Mona and the Guitar riffs at the end has me smiling from ear to ear. Man can you ladies rock. It is 9:40 in the evening and I got this sudden burst of energy listening and watching this video. I can just see me playing drums to this song and I will be jumping up and down behind the drum set while Mona and Lisa tear it up. Ah to dream….LOL…

  6. Being a Murican I had the Beatles 65 album and know this song! What a great version! Love how you jazzed up the ending! You are the best!

  7. Man, that was too fine !!. Yes, it is a song that is not known to Beatles fans…unless you have the Capitol releases. It was released finally on the Past Masters CDs in both stereo and mono. You gals nailed it again. Monas lead is excellent and Lisa singing and playing those background licks, just perfect. Harmonies are fantastic. The bass lines and drumming are right on. Great cover!! As always, Peace, Love and Happiness

  8. Bravo! Standing ovation here. It’s been fun reading Bill’s posts and sensing his anticipation of seeing this video. When the video started I couldn’t help picturing him dancing in an office cubicle. You are right, Bill. This one is fun.
Mona’s playing is dead on as she bounces all over the stage and her harmonies are as angelic as always. And Rick is right, too. How does Lisa play those riffs and sing so well at the same time? Wait a second, Rick is right – Rick Wright, get it? The guys sound great, too.

We are so lucky this Cavern show was recorded. These performance are superb to say the least. These chicks rock! She’s a woman!

  9. Wow, just reading these comments before I watched the video really got me in a Beatle Groove. Favorite black coffee, favorite Orange mug, volume set at eleven, clickety-click Play

  10. I am amazed…no reference to the future Maybe I’m Amazed at the Way You Love Me from a solo McCartney effort in 1970…..what I’m amazed at is the number of people saying they’ve never heard this song before…but I’m in America where Capital Records had it on the Beatles 65 album…did not know it wasn’t on the British version…was it EMI Records…great song and absolutely the MONALISA TWINS covers of almost any song they do is BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL…..also I think this was the second song in which Mona played the turnaround lead…You Can’t Do That being the other…..Lisa it just amazes me the way you play lead guitar and sing at the same time…to me that is really a special kind of talent…….Thank You God for The MonaLisa Twins because they keep me entertained every day and continuously flood my brain with memories of my teenage years in the 60s.❤️????

  11. I’ve never heard this song before, but what a wonderful gem you made it. I really love your covers of the lesser known songs, that instantly become your own for me! Your vocals are so captivating, gets right to the heart and soul of the song, and wow Mona really delivers when Lisa says “Alright Mona Go on”! She howl’s that Rickenbacker so beautifully! The song is done with such wonderful fun energy, excitement, and finesse! Bravo!

  12. Whoa, Guitaring and a Singing Groovy Voin On, Yeppers, that’s what I’m talking about, great way to start off a weekend, completely #MLTBuzzLuvGroovified Bonafide Fab, Kudos and Thankyou for another rousing song from Cavern Set #2 … Crank Er Up….!!!!????✌

  13. Another outstanding video. This has a great straight-ahead, no-frills (even with the wonderful guitar work) feeling to the performance that is just perfect.

  14. The Ricky and the Gretsch utilized to perfection! Incredible vocals that couldn’t be better! In other words, exactly what we’ve come to expect from the grooviest duo ever! We’re so spoiled!!!!

  15. Great performance! This is one of my favorite Beatles songs and you did a fine job with it. Mona hit every chord (in the Beatles original one of the chords is missed, and once you hear it you can’t un-hear it) 🙂

  16. I won’t forget the performance at The Cavern when, jointly with Amy Slattery, you performed She’s a woman. Mona was so concentrated with the song that she was ahead two seconds to Amy and her sister. Do I am right? It was funny to me, because I never saw anybody playing the guitar so much fan that Mona.
By the way, this recording was deficient, no because was on black and white, but the sound was bad.
I would like to see again with Amy and I ask you again Mona and Lisa, please record Oh darling and Dear prudence.
Do not forget me. Love for both as well as dad and Mikaela.

  17. Wow, I must admit I’ve never heard this tune – but Girls – HONESTLY – I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT YOU WROTE IT – A terrific sound, the MLT Vocal signature harmonies and a definite Papa Rudi arrangement. I really did miss out on some gems at The cavern and not just The Beatles Era – your time there must have been Magical – the ultimate journeys end to a “Magical Mystery Tour”

  18. Yes she is, and they both are incredible musicians!! Wow! What a show stopper! Both of you ladies having a solo in one song. A dream Come true!
You ladies continue your Mastery of the Beatles and other covers. But your originals are knocked out of the park. ????????‍♀️????????❤????‍????????????

  19. I have been waiting for this video since the live album came out and OMG, You ladies are the best. If anyone has been reading my posts? I have been talking about this song and the cool job Mona does on the lead and rhythm and Lisa chiming in ” Go Mona ” before the lead on Mona’s part and then Lisa at the end with the brilliant guitar work. OMG i LOVE This song and I am at work so my co workers thought I was acting goofy but I was jumping out of my skin watching this video and love every minute of it! Thank you Mona and Lisa for making our Fridays great and worth waiting for. You ladies are first class hands down.
Bill Isenberg a huge fan from Pittsburgh Pa

  20. Oi Mona Oi Lisa … I have to say that I love Fridays, waiting for MLTClub posts is something that makes me feel really good. it can be a Q&A video or a “What’s on the table”, or a video of your daily or sports activities, or a Duo Session or another piece of the fantastic “Live at the Cavern Club” .. it will always be something wonderful . thanks and Stay groovy.

  21. How effortless they make it all seem. Mona was jigging about with joy a lot of the time, pity that they haven’t (can’t at present of course) performed live like this for a while.

I’d travel as far as it took within the UK to see them live. Plus I’d plan a special trip to see them at most places in Europe as well.

  22. Gosh I’d forgotten all about this song. Wow thanks for singing it so fantastically well. You really have fantastic harmonies.

  23. I love this song! Great to see it in the Cavern Club set of videos now. Thank you for bringing joy to this cold damp Lancashire weekend. 🙂 x

  24. Mona Lisa you are fabulous I love this song and you’ve done it justice my parcel arrived today and both CDs are ok thanks again for such a good video

  25. Thank you Mona and Lisa for this fantastic start to the weekend!
Just the happy energy I needed today!
Absolutely loved the vocals, as always, but both of you were so commanding on guitar. Mona! George would be so proud of how well you covered his solo! And Lisa’s fills and riffs especially in the outro were stellar! Another MLT video I can’t stop watching- just awesome.
