A few months before the Kinks had their big breakthrough with this song in 1964 they played the Cavern Club for the first time. Their name is even painted on the stage back “wall”. Can you spot it?
This song is such a beautifully rough, messy early British Rock ‘n’ Roll staple. That’s the kind of songs that are the most fun to play in crowded, intimate, small places like the Cavern. We hope you enjoy our take on it!

When you were playing at the Cavern, how many sets did you do per night and you played every Saturday night only? I like it every time I here it.

I watched this one to see how you would handle the lead part. IMO Dave Davies always looked a bit awkward playing the lead riff in the middle of the song and always seemed like he was trying to catch up with the song….he pulls it off but I just had a sense that he was a little awkward looking doing it. I have no idea if that makes sense. But, anyway Lisa did the lead part smoother and better than the original. I’m beginning to think that when you two do a cover, it becomes your song. Mike.

Saw this on the internet. Captured a screen shot from YouTube – grainy, but it is the Beatles at the Cavern Club, I guess before anyone was famous enough to have their name painted on the back wall. Wow, the space looks small. [And yes, I absolutely agree MonaLisa Twins should be on that wall!]

Love it, love it, love it! I’ve mentioned this before but it is so cool when the girls look at each other and the love connection is so strong! It’s part of what makes MLT so great! And they sure are having fun! It isn’t a job, it’s their life!
Great version ! The original guitar solo is by the way played by jimmy Page. The producer didn´t trust Dave Davies´s skills so he brought then lot of studio works done Page into the studio. Lisa´s solo doesn´t lose in comparison with Jimmy. Mona, your singing really rocks !

Hello Derek ! Yes he has and maybe the truth is somewhere in between. It´s often unclear who played what in the 60s. For example it´s said that producers let only Van Morrison perform on the Them records. Other musicians were r´replaced by session men, one of them again Page. Thank you for the link ! What a great rocker of a tune!! Love It!! This shows you , all you need is 4 people, 2 guitars, bass and drums and oh yes awesome vocals!!! These ladies can rock with the best of them. Great Job Mona and Lisa keep it coming!!

This is a great song for a four piece. The band is on fire here. Mona really nails the vocal, and Lisa gets a couple good screams in, Alright!!
The GoPro on Lisa’s guitar is perfect for catching her “Serious Lisa” face as she breaks into a solo, followed by that huge Lisa Smile when she looks up, as if to say,”yep, nailed it”.
‘These videos are better than front row seats. The production team deserves a big round of applause.
