We got invited to the “Local Open Mic” podcast recently and are now sharing our conversation with host Tim Hief here in the Club. It’s over an hour of conversation so there’s a lot we go through. 🙂
We are talking about the backstory to some of our original songs, our “busking days”, influences, guitars, gear and what we like to do for fun.

I’m continuously deeply impressed with how well-spoken and expressive our favorite twins are when asked questions. And when those queries are touchy or difficult, their diplomatic way of replying is SO admirable! They’re both the picture of grace, respect and charm at every opportunity. Especially when you consider English isn’t even their native tongue! I wish I could express myself in everyday conversation half as well as they do when on the “Hot Seat”. The “how to pronounce ‘BETA’ lesson” was SO endearing! We MLT clubbers are so privileged to be granted such access to such an exceptional, warm family!
Yes, yes, and yes! Mona and Lisa are always both friendly and professional whenever they are interviewed. It shows their true personalities and their outstanding upbringing.
“If we can do it, we will do it” is their motto when they perform in-studio. Love that!

What a wonderful in-depth interview, kudos to Tim Hief (a fellow Canadian!!1) for doing this, gained much insight. Really enjoyed and loved the focus on your original music played here. Wow, was so incredible to hear Club 27 in the public air waves! Some great questions covered here and was awesome to hear discussion of the MLT Club and your complete autonomy. You are pioneers indeed navigating the music industry in full control. I’m always so impressed with your conviction and confidence in your approach to your music and career. Very interesting interview for me. I’m not a musician and I learned a bit from this more technical than normal interview. I hadn’t even ever heard the word “busking” (I did deal with “beta” a lot in my career, so I don’t feel too bad). Enjoyed it!
