‘Make Show’ Video Shoot – Photos

When we released WHY? towards the end of last year, we also posted the music video for “Make Show” on the same day. Most of you have probably seen it. (re-watch it here)

We just got around to sorting through the photos taken during those filming days and decided to collect our favourites in a post here. We made a behind-the-scenes video a few weeks ago too and just re-watched it – It reminded us that we still need to cut together the part 2 video that we promised in it!

We never run out of things to do ’round here! 😉

“Make Show” was a video unlike any other we’ve ever done and we loved experimenting with light/shadow and black/white in a completely new way. Also, we love dressing up so the getting ready alone was a good time!

Stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

  1. The whole music video of Make Show was so professional and slick. When watching, one just assumes it is the product of an army of creative professionals at the top of their game being paid huge bucks by legendary producers and shot over several weeks. At the end you would expect a stream of credits listing everyone from choreographer and costume director to stage hands and chauffeurs. But NO! To our joy and amazement here we have the celebrities themselves standing in their kitchen having refreshments while they finish their work. I LOVE THIS!

  2. I’ve read all the comments on these pictures and there’s nothing left to add by me…these pics are priceless and it just goes to show the vast imagination combined with natural talent that you girls possess and that applies to Papa ‘Rudi as well with his filming and production work…then there’s Michaela…without knowing exactly how she fits in I suspect that as a manager she’s the one that has everything outlined as to what and how it’s all gonna happen …once the idea is presented it’ll be Michaela that puts the steps in order to proceed to the process….she’s the one that develops the outline of the process…..I could be totally wrong about all that…..but in the past we had talked about you being on a major record label and doing video would take 60 people and and several weeks of production….but really only takes 4 people…the MLT Team …and a few days to make it all happen…..that starts with an idea put into an outline….and the finished product is better than anything that some multi-million dollar recording studio could produce ….I LOVE WHAT YOU DO and Thank You for doing it🧡❤️

  3. Love these photos girls. Can’t stop watching the video of this, it is such a great video and a terrific song. Even better than QUESTIONABLE and I really loved that. Jim

  4. Lisa looks remarkably like Marlene Dietrich in so many of these😍.
The picture of Mona puckered up- yeah, you got me❤️

  5. Thanks for the behind the behind the scenes pictures, like always they are entertaining to see what went into any of your vids. Ive noticed several comments about the make up being a little “creepy, ghoulish, etc.” and given it so closely resembles The Joker in some of the Batman movies, it would be a bit intimidating were it not for the the beautiful smiles both of you had in the video. I always appreciate all the hard work that obviously goes into the making of your videos and songs. Thanks again!

  6. Hello Ladies,
As usual I so enjoy the pics from your music videos. This was such a fun video! Make Show is old vaudeville meets today’s music!
Such a great song! Everything about the video was first rate.
Thanks again for these peeks into the video.
    Best always
    Rick Ross

  7. Auch, wenn ich mich wiederhole, ich finde ihr habt ein wundervolles Show-Talent.
Und jede Menge Humor. Das sieht man Euch an.

  8. Some great photos; love the black & white photography.

The 3 cds of original material have been in steady rotation for the past couple of weeks. There are a handful of songs (“Nothing is in Vain”, “That’s Life”, Questionable”, this one) that I still can’t separate from the videos. Mostly particular moments – the ladies floating in space, Mona’s dispassionate television viewing, the gals making like the Shirelles during chorus of “Questionable”, the “Make Show” puppet motions…………

The MLT are music video stars of the first order.

  9. From the reactions, I think you could sell quite a few of these as posters and or 8X10s . I know I would be a buyer, Very nice photos thanks for sharing!

  10. I have to totally agree with Tim on the great artsy shots. #14 is my favorite, a really great photo – who took it? It’s worth framing, but then you probably don’t have enough wall space for all the great photos you’ve taken over the years.

You really seemed to have fun making this video. It’s obvious that you love your work, your life’s calling. Thanks for sharing it with us.

  11. I really thought you got your clown make ups done up by a professional make up artist, but in true cottage industry style you did it all yourselves, impressive. Mona’s big red lips are quite remarkable, leaves a lasting impression. Those studio photos and silhouettes look so artistic, and your beautiful smiles are always so stunning. The photos and video effects are so striking, you certainly shine in the excellence with your video production craft here. Your talent and top notch output in whatever you create is always so amazing.

  12. TGIF!

Thanks for sharing these. They are amazing. Love the bowler hats.

When they make the MonaLisa Twins movie, I think the beginning should be in B&W. I know it’s been done, but I think it would be kool. Just think you could have been shining stars of the silent film era.

The candid shots in the kitchen are priceless. Your smiles really brighten our world. Have a fantastic and productive weekend.

  13. Fantastic photos as usual! Mona’s lipstick makeup design kind of freaked me out at first when I saw the video, it’s a bit ghoulish! Not sure how to describe it! The video is excellent. Thanks for the photos!

  14. Some of these shots could be framed as portraits. The contrasts between light and shadow and between color and dark is amazing. You two are so photogenic. I agree with Charles and Tim; they are stunning. If you guys ever decide to make a photo album of Make Show, I am ready to placer an order. Stay groovy. Peace be.

  15. I agree with Tim, the shots of Lisa in 14 &15 are stunning. The color photos bring out so much more of these two characters. And Mona’s jacket is just too cool. Her entire outfit is Killer. This is a wicked, awesome video and hope there are more like this on the horizon. Go ahead ladies, do it your own way……….Make Show.

  16. Now those are fab photos…certainly a great Warmth to add on a DeepFreeze kinda day in my neck of woods …

  18. Very cool pictures. The two of Lisa #14 & #15 are stunning, simply gorgeous. Also like the one in the kitchen with your arms around each other. Thanks for the ray of sunshine on a cloudy winter morning.
