Day 11
Yup, the weekly shopping trip, caught on cam. Since we’re taking you along for each day of the month, you gotta put up with the mundane tasks too 😉 Plus, doing the shopping together this time, bringing Lampi and a camera along, made the chore more bearable.
Also on today’s agenda is getting the Duo Session video ready for tomorrow, helping Dad with updating and setting up our computers and network (trying to learn something along the way), answering emails and catching up with friends in the evening.
What are your plans for today?
M&L xx
Hmmm… Now just where is it that I’ve seen a similar hat worn, why does it ring familiarity bells with me?! ????
Gee… Well, why does this hat I’m wearing ringing a familiarity bell vibe from it?!… Where has one similarly as the like been worn upon… Hmmm… I wonder, EH???
Shopping, shopping and more shopping!. Start the countdown for Christmas and we are already looking for special gifts for all members of the family, including Xana, our dog. Happy Day family, Happy Day to All. 🙂
Same old same old. Do chores, fill orders, get ready for the big stamp show this weekend to buy more inventory for my online shops and try to get some relaxation and downtime slots fitted in. Might try to go to the river and feed the fishes and the birds. Been watching the painted buntings that have finally shown up for the usual winter migration to stay warmer. The feeders are keeping them coming.
Oh, those are beautiful birds! We have a pair of good old pigeons building their nest in our backyard every year. Not as colourful but noisy! Hope you’ll find some downtime but we’re glad business is going so well.
Always nice to see you doing the mundane tasks Mona. That way we don’t forget that even awesome superstars are still human like us. This week I flew to Sydney where I’m house sitting for a month and looking after a dog and five cats. The little dog is getting on at 18 and has arthritis, like me, and is deaf – I’m only half deaf! The five cats all have their own unique personalities and the run of this lovely two story terrace house built in the 1880s, and the very large yard with it’s shady trees.
Unlike MLT members in the northern hemisphere, we have been sweltering in our summer and it seems a good deal of our country is on fire. We are approaching our worst drought on record. The smoke haze over Sydney has created air quality ten times hazardous levels which are usually only ever seen in some parts of India and China. It’s a pity we can’t swap some of our sunshine for some of your rain. Now there’s a great line, ‘there’s sunshine after rain’. ?❤️ Have a great day. I kook forward to witnessing your next ‘mundane’ task.
Oh dear, those fires are no joke! We really hope people are safe and that there is a way to deal with the crazy air pollution. Looking at the news images alone made me cough!
I remember how, when we lived in Adelaide back in 2009, there were floods in the North and fires everywhere else. Too much water on one end, too little water on the other.
We really hope no one gets hurt and that nature and wildlife can recover ♥
Salut Howard, je viens juste de voir ce que tu décris à la TV. J’espère que tu n’en souffres pas trop. L’année passée ça s’est passé en Californie et maintenant Sydney.. Relentless série of natural disasters continue…
In ENglish… Hi Howard, I just saw what you describe on TV. I hope you don’t suffer too much. Last year it happened in California and now Sydney .. Relentless series of natural disasters continues …
Talk about Jack Frost nipping at my nose, first 2 days below 0 this winter, -7F with a -20F windchill here. online shopping today, then to work. Just finishing up Christmas stuff.Have a nice day everyone.
Looks as if Mona has the makings of a tasty shopping cart. Lampi seems to be enjoying his self.
I shop once a month. As its just me I really don’t need a lot and it will last me.
Going to a Wednesday night Dinner tonight, and working. Plus doing my pre op exercises. Have a great day everyone and try to stay warm. -2*c here this AM.
6-30 swimming out by 7-30for coffee then home to see Melissa my partner before she goes to work, then look after the dogs till the afternoon and then an exhausting afternoon playing snooker with the lads. Just can’t keep up with this retirement lark oh well time for a swim. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the calendar ?
Oh that sounds like a very pleasant morning! Unfortunately, when I go swimming these days the pool water looks like a crime scene afterwards (my red hair makes a mess) 😉
YOU MEAN THE REDS NOT NATURAL!!!! ??
Sounds like a busy time for you two
My wife and I try to stick to a four day work week. That means long work days Monday – Thursday. Since I work from home I made dinner tonight. Then we watched a bit of TV while my wife worked on the Christmas stocking she’s making for my younger son’s girlfriend. We made some plans for Christmas Eve with my older son and his wife via group chat. Get this, I am sitting next to my wife, my son and his wife are sitting next to each other and we are doing a group chat. We still have to decide if Friday or Saturday is date night this week. It’s getting late, my wife went to bed and I just finished up some work in my office while listening to “Christmas”.
We love the internet for that! We’ve even done the same thing on Christmas day itself, skyping with our family back in Austria, opening presents on camera, just like we’d be sitting in the same room with them. It’s great you get to catch up with your son and family that way. ♥
Well, I’m a teacher and this is final exam week, so I’ll be spending the day in my office marking up papers with red ink, with the door closed and the lights off to discourage students from stopping by to ask whether they’re going to pass when I haven’t even finished grading their exams.
Here and there I’ll take a little break by glancing admiringly at my vinyl copy of Orange, which just arrived. (Thank you!) I don’t currently have a working turntable, so for now all I can do is admire it.
I ordered “Christmas” and “Orange” on CD but don’t own a CD player. Having the physical CD and the cover art just seems to complete the creative vision Mona and Lisa had for the albums.
There is nothing mundane with seeing glimpses of your daily lives here. Enjoying it. Glad to see Lampi Bampi accompanying you everywhere. My plan is to unwind from the daily grind with some music, your music tonight that is. Just counting the days to the Christmas week when everything at the office suddenly goes quiet through to the new year and it will be smooth sailing, long lunches, and short days.
LOL…lucky that the cart provides room for LampiBampi…..I wish I could enjoy those Terry Orange Choco ball treats …( damn nut allergies & cross contamination factors …lol) I see other snack food items, possibly tea packet box, and other odds n ends…hope it all went smoothly, LampiBampi didn’t get cart sick…lol….It was a crazy day weather wise here, was up to +7ish degrees celcius then northerly wind came upon and dropped temps down to seasonal… -8 , met up with best friend for a bit of catching up , goofing around with her in a dollar store with me modeling off crazy Xmas headbands and hats and she taking photos of this …lol… and then to volunteer at Dad’s former nursing home with monthly activity I help out with there.
That sounds like a fantastic day, including the crazy weather fun … okay -8 doesn’t sound that great but we hope you were dressed accordingly 🙂
Those chocolate oranges are great! They break apart into sections like a real orange does but are made of orangy tasting chocolate. We sent some to friends back in Austria as we’ve only ever seen them here in the UK ☻
It’s raining and cold her. Nice to enjoy a virtual outing in Liverpool with Lampi and family. Other than that, it was music lesson with my niece and then cranking up the ‘lux with Les and the Tele. Hmm, maybe that’s why my plants don’t like it inside??
Ran some errands this morning. It’s been raining here the past 2 days and we’re supposed to get some snow sometime overnight. I go grocery shopping Thursday or Friday. I think my handwritten lyrics are supposed to come Thursday or Friday! Usually it takes about 7 days from across the pond. Lampi makes a great sidekick!
Yep, the lyrics shouldn’t take that much longer hopefully, though the post seems to be a bit slower around this time of the year. Fingers crossed!
I did the very same thing. All the usual weekly shopping today AND all the Christmas shopping to boot. I don’t know what got into me. I’m usually not that energetic. It must have been something I ate.
