Day 18

Look whose book we found in the shop! If that’s not Billy Butler MBE’s (Mrs. Butler’s Eldest) personal biography!

As many of you know, we have been guests on Billy Butler’s Radio show on BBC Radio Merseyside every week for many many months when we first came to the UK. His support was an enormous help in establishing ourselves in Liverpool, reaching the local folks and getting comfortable being and performing on radio. He’s a true Merseyside legend.

Here is a compilation of many of the radio shows we have done with him:

Do you have a favourite performance we did on his show?M&L xx

    1. It’s one of our favourite songs of all time. We probably won’t make a video for it very soon as it’s already on YouTube. But if we’re running out of other songs to play, we might re-record it one day 🙂

      1. But if we’re running out of other songs to play…

I doubt that’ll happen any time soon! Onward and upward! ?

  1. My favourite one is “These Boots Are Made for Walking “.
It is an extraordinary performance to play all these songs live on the radio. Few artists would be able to do so, I think.

  2. “Help” was another one I really liked. The harmony and intertwining of your voices on this song really sounded marvelous.

I admire your resilience and conviction when it comes to standing firm with your own ideas at the end of the interview when Billy suggested if someone were to ever try to shoot down in flames one of your ideas. You are in control! My fave moment in your interviews!

  3. It’s very difficult to pick a favorite, but Here Comes the Sun edges out Hold Me Tight
Cute add-on : MLT play You Belong to Me on the 6/7 show – Every bit as good as the Duo Session, and on the spot with a borrowed ukulele!
Seriously though, ladies – these songs are every bit as good as The Beatles’
    Performances on radio were.
Easy album to release would be Mona and Lisa Live at the BBC
That would make this incredible music accessible to those who aren’t lucky and smart enough to be in the MLT Club
    Your talent live is amazing!

  4. What A Wonderful World performance on the May 10 2014 show really moved me that day I remember. Could feel so much love in your voices. There were many more of course.

  5. Thanks for sharing these again. I know them well but couldn’t remember where to find them. I love them all but my favourites would have to be “The Wide, Wide Land” and “Catch The Wind”. I’m so pleased you had someone like Billy Butler to lend a helping hand during your early days in Liverpool. It’s nice to see Lampibampi has been given their freedom again!?❤️

  6. I luv all equally… Don’t make me choose…. Please, don’t… Lol… Well, I think it was on one of Billy’s show where you played a percussion type instrument… The name of it escapes my mind at the moment, but it was like if not the instrument you had used in the song/ video “Paint it Black”,…. Like I said, all shows were equal to me…. ???
