  1. My Generation is my choice for the first set. Mona’s energy was just incredible. She was having way too much fun!

  2. Roger Daltrey didn’t mean to put that in but they left it in the final mix, why he was nervous, I would be nervouse to if it was my generaa tion!!!!!! LOL

  3. Please Mr. Postman comes with that surprise drop into Wipeout, Mona’s brief dance (?) with Callum, Callum’s bass solo like I’ve never heard, Charlie’s furious drumming, Lisa’s dead aim of the Gretsch cam directly at Charlie plus her digital time indicator, and the Twins playing and singing and having a ball. So I pick You Can’t Do That. I mean, Please Mr. Postman.

  4. for what it’s worth. love the way you interpreted it. it is a song of protest and you have brought the needed energy to it.

  5. That is the hardest decision I’ve made today. “I’m a Believer” is just the one that sticks out the most this moment. It was a hard pick between that and “Sunshine Superman”. I just think you two (and the band) did so spectacular on these two. But “Drive My Car” and “You Can’t Do That” differ by one hundred thousandth of a point. Your whole Cavern set is utterly amazing.

  6. It’s a very difficult choice because I love all the tracks but I can only choose one so I choose please Mr postman/wipe out simply because of the sheer performance

  7. It’s not easy to pick a favourite… I chose “When We’re Together” because it must have been great for you to play your own songs in this historic place!

  8. As an Australian, I had to go for the Easybeats, Friday On My Mind! What a fantastic cover by MLT and so true to the original which was voted “Best Australian Song” of all time by the Australian Performing Rights Association. Reached no. 6 on the UK charts in 1966!

  9. I choose You Can’t Do That. It was the first song I heard by Mona and Lisa.
A close second would have been Drive My Car.

  10. For what it’s worth, I really love For What It’s Worth I always like that opening harmonic. It is like a signal to turn up the volume and get ready. The band looks like they are having a blast. Mona’s smile is so contagious, as she bounces around the stage. I am impressed by how she always makes it back to the mic in time.

Lisa’s guitar is amazing. I love the solos. They have a definite Stills sound to them, but not like a copy, just Stephen’s influence.
‘Still got that Lisa thang to it.

I really miss going to concerts, so these videos are awesome.
‘Thanks for the front row seats.

    TGIF! JP

  11. Everyday of the Advent has been a blast, loving it!!!, and wow your my Generation is a blast too! Superb guitar work there, and Lisa awesome finish on the lead guitar, loved it! Pete Townsend would be proud. Mona your lead rocking vocal on this is second to none, does this great Who song supreme justice. Roger Daltrey couldn’t have done it better himself.

Choosing one favourite from the first set was an awful hard decision to make before going to be last night! Your Mr Postman/Wipe Out combo is just irresistible on so many levels, that was my choice. ????????

  12. My Generation was certainly a rousing final song for the set…I swear there must have been Royalty in the crowd with as many “bows” that Mona took…Charlie and Callum got in a good work out too and Lisa you are just one helluva guitarist…I love watching you play those licks…I seriously mean it when I say that Mona and Lisa are the John and George of the 21st century…….but my fave of the set is Mr Postman / Wipeout…it was a complete surprise and whoever came up with those two songs was genius…a brilliant idea.

  13. It’s been a different kind of day…I was just reading some comments and then there was Mine from 5 hours ago…and I didn’t name the song …my fave from set 1 is without question Mr Postman / Wipeout because it was a totally rockin rendition and showcased Charlie and Callum…in other words all 4 musicians were involved in this great moment…back when you came out with this vid it was a HUGE surprise because it was different….I love ALL your “Live” band performances ❤️

  14. As it’s at The Cavern, it has to be a Beatles song, even although For What It’s Worth is my favourite performance. For many years “Hey Bulldog” was a relatively obscure and often overlooked song in the Beatles’ catalogue; it has since been reappraised by fans and a number of critics and influenced musicians as one of the band’s best rock songs. Your performance does it justice too. Certainly The Beatles performed Please Mr Postman at The (original) Cavern, so it has merit too. The Surfaris never played The Cavern. But I’m pretty confident that some of the Merseyside bands would have included Wipe Out in their set. Your drummer, Charlie Skeggs, certainly gets into the spirit of the original (and Callum Williams on bass is no slouch either).

  15. It was hard to choose one, I like many of these videos. Finally, I voted for “Hey, Bulldog”. I told before, that I used to don’t like when anyone covers The Beatles’ songs (even themselves on their solo albums) before I first heard MonaLisa Twins. But “Hey, Bulldog” was one of the few songs I didn’t like even from The Beatles. It always sounded a bit strange for me. But MLT made me change my mind. I realised it’s a cool song just from that Cavern Club video. And it is now attributed in my mind rather be of MLT for me than The Beatles.

  16. Good afternoon everyone, my favorite video from the first set is “You Can’t Do That”
This video is the reason I got hooked on the MLT world.

It was the first one I saw and Mona’s voice was incredible to me, the energy with which they interpret the cover, Lisa’s great choruses and so many other things that it is difficult for me to list them.

I can apply all of the above to the other videos that are just as great.

  17. All the videos are outstanding! Had to ultimately go with PMP/Wipeout – great vocals/playing, great showcase of the whole band, fun/well-done inclusion of the second tune, loved Mona’s expressions/enthusiasm during some of the riffs, and when Lisa raises her finger to say wait – that subtle expression puts it over the top for a performance piece.

  18. I chose “You Can’t do That” mostly because of Monas primal scream before her lead guitar (which also rocked) And Lisa doing the super back up vocals! So much energy!

  19. So to be fair, I went back and watched all of them again and I have to say Please Mr. Postman is my favorite for these reasons. Lisa was amazing on lead vocals and Mona was equally as brilliant with a ton of energy. Plus, any time Mona has the Rickenbacker in her hands something special come out of it. Then the transition to Wipeout… Charlie gets a chance to show what a talented and powerful drummer he is!! Just when I thought is was gonna transition back, Callum kills it on his bass!! When it transitions back Mr Postman the tempo stays up and this song just has all the energy possible! There is a shot, really of Charlie, but also turns into a great view of Mona’s huge smile and bouncing blonde hair! When Mona turns to Lisa and they are face to face…. you see the glow of the fun they are both having in Lisa’s face. To top it off, it was pretty cool watching Lisa give the poor microphone a knockout punch just when Wipeout started!! I watch this video at least twice every day. Thanks for making me smile so much.

  20. I’m not sure if I’m supposed to pick my favorite based on the stage performance, the musical arrangement/rendition itself, or the actual video. Since it’s all the same show, the video is pretty much the same, although there are some I like better than others because a particular shot will reveal useful information (I love Lisa’s headstock cam!). Even if I’m just picking a favorite based on the music, it’s hard not to let which one is my favorite song (regardless of who performs it) influence my choice. For example, my favorite could be a song I don’t even really like but chosen because they did such a brilliant job arranging, playing, singing, and interpreting it. Can you tell I’m an analyst who over-thinks everything. Yes, I know 😉

    1. It was SO hard to pick because each one has special qualities and I was going to go with When We’re Together, but in the end I chose For What It’s Worth because of their brilliant arrangement. The way they turned it from a laid-back acid trip into an upbeat rocking rollick without going too far, yet still keeping the spirit of the lyrics and song intact, is absolute genius. And Lisa shredding that guitar!

  21. I love all the “Live” videos but this one really is a rocker getting all 4 musicians involved and the crowd worked up !!! Love it❤️

    1. I’m not sure which “this one” is Rick, but I’m guessing you’re talking about Please Mr. Postman? I love that one for the same reasons.

  22. But how can I pick one?? they are all “my favorite”
But I picked friday on my mind.
The energy of the song, and it just seemed you two were having a blast.
It lifts my spirits and makes me smile

  23. I had to narrow down my original six candidate videos to only one and it took me most of the morning and a review of those videos to select “Paint it Black”. There’s just something about MLT performing that song in contrast to the Rolling Stones’ version that makes your rendition memorable for me. 🙂

  24. Wow! Wh-wh-what a PREFORMANCE!!! Talking ’bout my admiration! You all are so awesome. That was a fantastic, exciting, exhilarating, high energy video. I loved it and it was a close second, for me, to “Please, Mr. Postman / Wipeout.” Fantastic!!!!

  25. I’ve chosen Sunshine Superman for a number of reasons. Firstly Mona’s vocal just does it for me (see my review of the album on day 4), I find a deepish singing voice in a woman very attractive. It is one of the cover songs on the album that I knew least well and am now captivated by it and have found myself at times going over and over the rhythm guitar part and vocal whilst concentrating at work (in my mind only I hasten to add).
I would have expected myself to have chosen one of the other songs but have gone for the one that has evidently made the biggest impression on me. They have all made a good and enjoyable impression on me, of course.

  26. I’ve gone with ‘Paint It Black’ but close behind are ‘Please Mr. Postman / Wipe Out’ and ‘Sunshine Superman’.

  27. Oops. I put my comments where you only wanted my name above! Pay attention Delaura! So I’ll just share again about my favorite ( I had to narrow it down from, well, all the other songs) which is Mr. Postman/Wipeout. Two for the price of one so you gotta love it. I remember this song from before the Beatles and you rock it! Even more than the original. And Wipeout, one of the few instrumentals of the classic rock era, blends in perfectly. Who would have thought? Anyway it was a difficult decision cuz this whole set is stellar. But then that’s why we all love you

  28. Hi Mona and Lisa …
The truth is…. It’s impossible for me to answer… I loved all the videos I watched them all dozens of times.. I don’t know how to answer.. so for a single detail..the Mona’s dance in front of the drums (0,38 sec.) . I choose Can’t but me love.. but .. I LOVED ALL THE VIDEOS.

  29. You Can’t Do That is my choice. I’ve watched almost all the others on the list and they are all very good, but I always seem to return to this flip side of the Beatles’ Can’t Buy Me Love single. You Can’t Do That should have been the A-side. Your energetic performance proves that.

  30. Whoa…. That was some serious KickA** Rock n Rolling going on there with ” My Generation”… great song to sum up Set 1 of Cavern Residency Finale with MLT…Already anticipating Set 2 stuff to come…. That was Fab, am now fully awake this morning, Thankyou for tge awesome ” Wakeup Alarm”…lol….

All songs are Equally Effective and it was hard to choose just one, but I have…????

  31. So hard to chose one… I have to go with Drive My Car because it’s such a good opening, but it’s tricky and so much rides on the opening song, you get it right and it’s easier sailing, you get it wrong and it’s an uphill battle with the audience. Obviously the Twins nail it and it grows from there. Can’t Buy Me Love is an amazing one too, but the notable one is “This Boy Is Mine” as it flows seamlessly with all those greatest hits. This is a set of greatest hits, not just any random playlist, and “This Boy Is Mine” fits like a glove. That is one heck of an achievement.

  32. I chose “For What It´s Worth” because there the arrangement brings so much new energy to the song. But there really are no weak link in the whole set. I also want to mention ” paint It Black” and “This Boy Is Mine” as my bests of the bests !

  33. You Can’t Do That is so. Very close to being first. The only reason Please Mr Postman/Wipeout is number one in my opinion is because it was such a surprise. I saw the title but skipped right over Wipeout part of the title. The Surfaris Iconic song is as classic as any Beach Boys song. The Surfing craze was just that
. Beach Party’s, Surf Music, Dancing in the sand, Seafood. It had it all.
To hear that song again , and completely unexpected, sent me over the edge.
    Extremely well Done Guys! ????‍♀️????‍????????????????❤

  34. Chose ‘ You Can’t Do That’ as I love the MLT live rendition at the Cavern Club. Currently trying to learn the song on guitar and get that riff by Lisa right. Love Mona’s rockin’ raspy voice on this one too!
